Narrator's POV
After a whole 7 hours of school and boring irrelevant events, it was almost time for the exhibition match between KAU and UOS. Kari was in the locker room with her team, getting ready.
"Kari-ah" the captain, Jinae, said with a mischievious smile
"deh unnie?" Kari asked as she tied a black ribbon to her ponytail.
"we heard that you and Mark practiced before school" Jinae said
"yeah! he hit at you and you received every one of them perfectly?!" Sumin asked "I mean, how? His hits are...UNF perfect!"
"unnie, stop fangirling" Kari said tying her shoes.
"he's so cute though Kari-ah" Boram said as she swooned with Mei and Hana.
"guys, please don't make me throw up right before our game" she said
"how do you not like him?! Are you crazy Kari-ah?!" Sojin asked shaking the girl by the shoulders
"why would I like him?" Kari asked "he and his group of friends are nonsensical, cocky bastards. Me and JSK don't like them one bit"
"but they're cute!" Nara said
"okay girls, get out there and start warming up" the coach said popping her head in the locker room. The team huddled in a circle and said their cheer before exiting the locker room. They ran out and was greeted by a bunch of cheers from their school supporters. Kari stuck out like a sore thumb, a black and blue jersey in a group of the white jerseys. Well, that's how the game works. She began to warm up with Boram, her focus completely on the ball, and the ball only.
As the other team began their warmups, Kari took a drink of her water and looked towards the crowd. She spotted Mark who was looking directly at her, a smirk playing on his lips. Kari rolled her eyes and looked for JSK, smiling when she found them screaming her name.
"Kari-ah" Kyungji smiled "Mark's looking at you~"
"what?" she asked turning her attention back to Mark. Yet he was, still, staring at her. She scoffed and glared at him, hoping for it to have some effect. The boy just chuckled and crossed his arms, nonchalantly flipping his hair as a grin crawled onto his face
"isn't his smile so cute?" Kyungji asked
"serve Kyungji unnie" Kari dribbled a ball, before doing a jump serve
"nice" Byul said high fiving her. After a minute of serving, the team gathered around and received their coach's last minute lecture.
"one, two, three-"
"Leopards!" they shouted, getting into position. Kari waited on the sideline as the official checked the positions. She high-fived Mei and switched spots with her, touching the ground once before getting into her ready position. Miyeon was serving. First play of the game and their rivals, the Red Tigers, were setting up an attack.
"right side!" Kari yelled getting into the receiving position. The ball got hit to the back row, and their right back passed it to Jinae, who set it up to Yubin. The outside slammed the ball, but it was touched by the block. UOS got ready to attack the ball again
"tip tip tip!" Byul shouted
"mine!" Jinae yelled "setter out!"
"I got it I got it!" Kari called "Miyeon!"
"nice hit!" Byul cheered as the play ended. They gathered around in a circle and high-fived. First point. KAU.
It was an intense game, there were good sets, great hits, amazing serves, and even better saves.
"middle!" Hana shouted doing her approach as Jinae set her the ball. Kari saw the blockers go up and thankfully got under the ball as it almost hit the ground
"great save Kari-ah!" her coach shouted in support "keep it up girls! push through! Fight!"
"Kari-ah, switch" Mei said switching her out. Kari panted and chugged her water bottle, putting her hands on her hips to calm her breathing as Hana served the ball. After a few more serves, they were at 23. UOS was at 21. Kari switched in for Hana and it was her turn to serve.
"c'mon Kari-ah, relax" Jinae said. 24-21. She could potentially screw this up.
"time out" the official blew the whistle. The girls went back to their respective teams
"good job girls, good job. Keep pushing. Kari-ah, focus on your serve oh? Just becuase we're at game point doesn't mean that they can catch up" their coach said
"push one on three! one, two three-"
"push one!" they shouted going back into positions. Kari bounced the ball and twirled it twice in her hand before throwing it up and jumping to slam the ball on the other side. She jumped up when the ball landed exactly on the line. Even an inch more and her serve would have been out.
"ACE!" the girl's team shouted, slapping her lightly on the back.
"switch sides" their coach said.

The girls' volleyball game ended with an unsurprising victory of 4-1. It was now time for the boy's volleyball game.
"good job Kari-ah" Mark congratulated
"thanks, good luck Mark" Kari said and he was rather surprised that she was acting nice-ish. He gave her a nod and joined his teammates. Kari met with JSK by the concessions and they congratulated her with a hug
"amazing as always maknae-ah" Suzy smiled
"unnie-deul, you can't believe what the other girls were telling me" Kari said as they walked towards their school side "they were talking about Mark and asking me why I don't like him"
"why you don't like him? He's a cocky bastard that's why" JJ said
"and a playboy" Suzy said "he gets laid after every performance you know?"
"all of them are playboys" Kari said "I saw Jr go into the back room with a girl before"
"he did not" Suzy said suddenly, cursing herself in her mind for her carelessness
"bwoyah, why are you suddenly backing him up?" JJ asked
"no reason..I just doubt that" she said quietly
"well whatever. I absolutely hate Jackson with my mind and soul" JJ said
"well it's good to know the feeling's mutual" Jackson said coming up from behind them with the rest of GOT7 - excluding Mark. JJ immediately scoffed and rolled her eyes
"good job playing Kari noona" Bambam said. Kari was going to retaliate about him calling her noona again when he suddenly spoke "I-I mean K-Kari-ssi."
"thanks Bambam" she smiled ruffling his hair.
"Kari-ah! Sit with us!" Aeji shouted her over "Suzy-ah! JJ-ah! You girls too!"
"you girls should go" Jr motioned
"who said we weren't?" JJ said and stood up "let's go"
"they're starting!" Mei screamed as the boys shook hands.
"yah! Zan Mei! shut up" JJ hissed at her, making the girl silence
"Jiyeon-ah-"
"unnie, don't" Kari said interrupting Jinae. She shook her head and began to watch the game. Kari had to say, watching the boys play was definitely interesting. As much as she hated to admit it, Kari couldn't keep her eyes off of Mark...Yeah. She definitely hated to admit it. But he was just really good.
"Kari, you're staring" Byul nudged her as the volleyball team giggled
"staring at what?" Suzy asked
"yeah, I'm confused" JJ agreed
"She's staring at-"
"unnie!" Kari yelled stopping Yubin
"I won't blame you, he's good" Sumin said and Kari couldn't help but nod
"Mark?" Suzy asked
"he's good. Can't lie" Kari said
"-outside outside!" Mark yelled. The setter gave him a toss and he hit the ball cross corner. Ace.
"nice!" his teammate shouted giving him a high-five. The corner of Kari's mouth tilted up in amusement. He really is good.

The boys game ended with a 3-2 victory. KAU was now celebrating as UOS was leaving the gym, a mix of anger and disappointment.
"so guys" Jinae clapped her hands as she stood on the middle of the court with Mark - as they were both captains "to celebrate our victories over UOS"
"baksu!" Mark shouted and an erupting applause came from the crowd
"we booked out the downtown club for the night" Jinae beamed "who's ready to party?!"
"and don't forget, since it is Friday. GOT7 will do a set of performances" Mark said and GOT7 stood up shouting in response as the female crowd fangirled - of course, with the exception of JSK.
"don't be down boys" Jinae said "because I heard from a little birdy that JSK's going to perform something as well"
"you told her?" Suzy asked and Kari shrugged
"it just slipped out? I didn't know our whole school was coming unnie" Kari said. This time it was the male crowd who shouted for the "Queenkas" --- Why is Queenkas in quotes? JSK don't really like that term, they feel it's too prideful.
"then it'll be a battle" Mark said looking up at the girls "isn't that right Kari?"
"a battle" Kari nodded with a smirk. She stood up, her arms crossed "which you'll lose"
The girls began to whine and reason with her.
"8 o'clock sharp. We'll be there" Kari said walking down the bleachers with Suzy and JJ
"get ready to get your asses kicked." JJ said
"oh hell no-"
"Jackson-ah" JB said holding back the boy
"see you on the dance floor" Suzy smirked at GOT7, flipping her hair before exiting the gym.
