TOP's POV

"W-why should I kill her?" I asked.

"It's your job," the voice replied.

"T-then, s-she's the gumiho?" I asked again.

"Yes. Now, kill her!" the voice demanded.

Slowly, I take the knife from the pocket in my jacket and point it to the gumiho.

"Good. You're one step closer to finish your job! Do it! Do it now!" the voice exclaimed.

"W-who are you?" I asked.

"I'm your master. You can't meet me unless you've finished your job," the voice replied. "Come on! Kill her now!"

"No!" I shouted. "I can't do it!"

"Are you trying to go against me?" the voice asked in a scary tone.

"N-no. It's just that, it's too sudden!" I explained.

SEUNGRI's POV

I'm sitting against the wall on the top of the school building. I was actually about to close my eyes to get some sleep until I heard someone shouting.

"No!" he shouted. "I can't do it!"

Curiosity got over me so I went to look over. I see Seunghyun pointing a knife on a girl sleeping on the ground. The girl is also from the class earlier, the one known to be a genius and extremely beautiful.

Without any hesitation, I dart towards them, trying to help the girl.

"What are you doing!" I shouted, pushing Seunghyun to the side. "Were you trying to kill her?"

From his reaction, I know he is shocked, seeing him running away right after I interrupted him. I turn around and bend down to see whether the girl is okay.

"She's sleeping. She probably didn't know what Seunghyun was trying to do to her," I thought.

"I knew it," she replied, but still closing her eyes.

"What? You're awake?" I asked.

She finally opens her eyes and sits up straight.

"Ania. I was sleeping just now. But eventhough I'm sleeping, I can still feel my surrounding," she replied.

"W-who are you exactly? You're not human," I stuttered.

"Uhm. Just like you, I'm not human. I'm the one you've been looking for. I'm the gumiho," she replied, showing me the silver bracelet around her wrist.

I close my mouth with my hand, feeling extremely surprised to actually meet her unexpectedly.

"I've found you, Gumiho-sshi. From now on, I'll always protect you," I said as I prostated.

"I'll rely on you then. Please do a good job. Thanks to you, now I can go out freely as much as I like," she replied.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I've always hid myself for the past 999 years. I'm afraid that the Dragon might find and kill me," she explained.

"Then, Seunghyun," I said.

"Yeah. I've finally met the Dragon. He's the one. But he is quite different from what I thought he would be," she replied.

"Seunghyun is the Dragon? Omg, I totally can't believe this! But then, I have to believe it even though it seems unbelievable!" I exclaimed. "Err, what do you mean about him being different?"

"He hesitated the moment he wanted to kill me. From what I see, it wasn't actually his real intention to kill me. It's his master. He was just being ordered to kill me. I feel pity for him," she explained.

"Wow. She is totally a kind person. Eventhough he is an enemy, she still feels pity for him," I thought.

"Hehe, thanks for the compliment!" she replied.

"What? You can hear me?" I asked.

"Of course!  Ah, btw, just call me Bom from now on!" she exclaimed excitedly.

"She's really amazing! How did she even know my name?" I thought.

"Thanks for the compliment again!" she hummed.

"Aish! I forgot she can hear my thoughts!" I complained. "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to meet the Dragon. You can wait for me in the class. I'll be okay. If I'm in danger, I can summon you. See you later," she replied before she left, diminishing into the thin air.

TOP's POV

I run outside the school building and hide in a nearby forest. I can't help but think about how scary it was earlier.

"Why must I kill her?" I shouted. "Why? Why am I the Dragon?"

"Are you okay?" I heard a girl's voice.

I turn around and am surprised to see the Gumiho, sitting beside me.

"W-what are y-you doing here? How did you," I asked.

"I can smell your body scent," she replied innocently.

"Aren't you afraid of me? Don't you hate me?" I asked.

"Ania," she replied, totally not the kind of answer I would expect her to say. "I don't hate you, and I'm not afraid of you. I don't blame you as well. I know that you don't actually want to kill me. It's your master,"

She understands me. I am surprised by what she said and my heart is starting to feel calm. 

"Let's go back to class," she replied.

She points her index finger on my cheek and with a single touch, she brings me back to the classroom. I start to think of her in a different way right after that moment. I don't consider her as an enemy anymore, not even as a friend, but as someone really special in my life.
