On the midnight of 31st December 1015 A.D...

I was sitting alone on the bed, looking at the clear sky through the window. I couldn't help but reminisce the day when I was born. Blood stains everywhere and more importantly, the death of my parents.

"It's my birthday. Happy 15th Birthday to me," I thought. "Omma, appa, eventhough I've never met you, I miss you so much. I'm all alone. Do you think something will show up and change my life?"

I closed my eyes for a moment, waiting for a miracle to happen when I wasn't aware. Slowly, I opened my eyes and to my surprise, an orb of light appeared right infront of me.

"Hello," a voice said.

"W-who a-re y-you?" I stuttered.

"Don't be afraid. I'm not a ghost. I'm just an orb of light which can talk. There's nothing peculiar about that," the voice said.

I gained my composure and for once, I tried to be more brave.

"Why are you here?" I asked.

"I'm here to tell you something really important. Something that can change your life forever," the voice replied.

"What is it?" I asked.

"From now on, you are one of the Keepers," the voice said.

"What? The Keepers?" I exclaimed.

"That's right. It's a job that has been passed down from your ancestors. Your job is to protect the Gumiho," the voice replied.

"So, you're saying I'm not human? And who is the Gumiho?" I asked.

"Yes, it's true. You're not a human being. The Gumiho is a fox who is like a Goddess. She possesses an extremely powerful magic and strength. She's extremely beautiful, and in short, the Gumiho is almost perfect and her job is to protect this world. 15 years ago, a war broke out among the humans, the Gumiho and your parents who were also Keepers, helped the Gumiho. But in the end, they died. I've predicted that a war will soon be back in about 1000 years later. That is why I need you to find the Gumiho and protect her no matter what," the voice explained.

"Then, I'm going to live up to 1000 years old? And, why do I need to protect the Gumiho? Is she in danger?" I asked.

"Yes, you are in fact going to live further than 1000 years old. The reason why you're protecting the Gumiho is because, if she dies in the hands of the Dragon, this world will be over," the voice continued.

"From now on, you are one of the Knights," the voice said.

"What? The Knights?" I asked.

"Yes. There are actually four Knights. Gold, black, white and silver," the voice replied.

"Then, what am I?" I asked again.

"I cannot tell you right now. You must find that out yourself, whether you're gold, black, white or silver," the voice replied.

"How?" I said.

"In the future, you'll find a girl destined to be with you called the Keeper. If you find the girl, a chain will suddenly appear, linking the two of you. But the chain is only seen by the two of you and you'll find out what kind of Knight you are from the colour of the chain," the voice explained.

"I see," I replied.

"Also, you're job is to protect theKeeper. But if you are a silver Knight, you will have a different job. Your job is to protect the Gumiho, but, the Gumiho is not destined with you," the voice continued.

"Who is the Gumiho?" I asked.

"She's a fox who is like a Goddess. She has an extremely powerful magic and strength, plus she's extremely beautiful. Every man who sees her will instantly fall in love with her, except for the Knights. In your body, there is a powerful magic that suppresses yourself from in love with the Gumiho. But don't get me wrong, the Gumiho is not a bad person. Her job is even heavier than yours," the voice explained.

"Wait, where are you going?" I asked when the orb of light started to move away.

"A war is going to happen in the next 1000 years. Find the gumiho, protect the Keeper, protect the Gumiho, kill the Dragon, save the world" the voice said before it disappeared, leaving me almost clueless.

TOP's POV

"From now on, you're the the Dragon. Find the Gumiho and kill her. You might need these. So long," the voice said before it disappeared into the thin air.

"He said I need something. What is it?" I thought.

Just about then, a scroll appeared in front of me and beside it was a box. I opened the scroll and read it carefully.

"So I need to kill the Gumiho, with this knife in this box?" I thought.

BOM's POV

"You are a gumiho," the voice said.

"A g-gumiho?" I stuttered.

"Yes. I have to go now," the voice replied.

"Wait? Why am I a gumiho? How are you sure?" I asked.

"It's your fate. In the future, please save the world. You'll find out your abilities and job one day," the voice replied before it disappeared.

That day marked the beginning of their lives. 999 years had passed and at last they met one another.
