“I’m gonna miss you.” I peck his lips suddenly, surprising myself as much as I surprised him that is, if I did surprise him. I sigh, no matter how curious I am of his reaction I kill that hope immediately and drag my eyes to the TV.

After what felt like years drowning in uncomfortable flatness of everything—his reaction, the TV show and his almost nonexistent breathing, he shifts from our position and withdraws his arms.

I try not to let that affect me. I try not to sigh, but most of all, I tried my hardest not to look at him. I shake my head. Oh, I just ruined our first kiss. You couldn’t wait huh?
