Chapter 10

Taeyeon’s POV

My relationship with Tiffany went back to the way it was before. I thought it was a good thing but I was

wrong. I’ve fallen in love with my best friend deeper. And I’ve been thinking lately and I realized that I’ve

gotten myself in s big mess. If I tell her how I feel I might just loss her trust.

I sighed heavily as I put on my new uniform. I’m starting junior high school. New classrooms but I will still probably see the same old faces.

I look at myself in the mirror and adjusted the ribbon on my uniform. My eyes have gotten bad so I started using some specs. After putting on my new glasses, I went and checked all the things I’ll need for my first day of school.

Books check.

Notebooks check.

Pens check.

Guess I’m all set.

I hang my school bag over my right shoulder and started making my way out of my room. Just then I met my sister also in her school uniform.

She smiled at me before greeting me good morning. We were having breakfast when someone entered from our front door. I turned my head and saw Tiffany in our sailor uniform. It suits h—

“It suits you well” she cuts me off before sitting just across me

“Aunt Jessica didn’t cook breakfast?” Hyoyeon asked

The girl in front of me answered with a nod. YoonA umma then appears from the kitchen with another plate for Tiffany.

“You knew?” I asked my mom

“Your aunt Jessica called earlier. She’s punishing your aunt Sooyoung” mom answered

“Good morning kiddos!” Yul umma comes down the stairs in her lab gown

We greeted her back and she planted kisses on her our forehead including Tiffany’s.

“So, I’m sending you guys to your first day of middle high eh?” she said as she sat next to Tiffany

“Sorry for the bother aunt Yul” Tiffany said

I look at Tifany and I think I saw her blush. Since when did Tiffany get embarrassed?

They suddenly looked at me.

“Wae?”

“You’re giggling on your own”

I widen my eyes. Did I just laugh unknowingly?

“Yah! Have you gone crazy!?” Tiffany says as she laughs at me

“I-I was just thinking something funny!” I unexpectedly blushed at my own comment.

“Thinking about butts?” my sister asked with a sly smile

“I was thinking about your !” I played making everyone in the table burst out in laughter.

Well, except for my sister who started hitting me with the newspaper Yul umma was reading.

After the chaotic breakfast we boarded on our usual bus but this time with a different destination.

I was sitting with my sister while Tiffany sat in front of us. She keeps looking at our seat though.

“Tiff, want to sit with Taengoo?”

I snap my head to the side.

“H-Huh, it’s okay! I’ve been sitting with Taeyeon for six years now I think it’s your turn now” Tiffany answered

Why do I feel hurt hearing her say that? Is she tired of being with me?

No Taeyeon. Stop this. You’re thinking too much again. Remembered what happened before? It’s because you were thinking too much that you and Miyoung fought.

“W-wae? You don’t want to sit with me Hyoraeng?” I tried joking around

Hyoyeon then turned to me and pinched my check.

“No. We live in the same house and go to the same school we’re together for 24 hours” she said and Tiffany started laughing at my sister’s witty remark.

“Arasso! Let’s switch seats” Hyoyeon stood up and switched with Tiffany

“You’ll be lonely” I told Hyoyeon

She waves her hand while Tiffany leaned her head on my shoulder. I looked to my side and I can’t help but smile.

“You didn’t sleep well?” I asked her which she answered with a nod

I watched her as she slowly closed her eyes. I started staring at her. It’s becoming a bad habit of mine.

“You’re still wearing the same perfume”

I flinched a bit. She opened her eyes before lifting her head off my shoulder.

“Wae?” she said with an amused smile

“N-Nothing”

She shrugs her shoulder before resting her head back to me again.

It was a short ride to the school. As soon as we all stepped out of the bus a group of seniors and teachers greeted us.

I looked around and saw that our new school is a lot bigger. There were more buildings compared to grade school and the school ground is much wider.

My attention was then cut off when someone bumped on my right shoulder. I turned my head and saw the person who bumped into me.

“Nickhun”

“Sorry about that—Taeyeon?” I can see that he was glad to see me

Or was it really me that he’s glad to see.

“I-Is Tiffany—“

“Yes” I cut him off

Just when I thought I’ll be able to have Tiffany on my own for these three years I was wrong. And I know I said something about not telling Tiffany about my feelings but I do want to show it to her.

“Where is she?” he asked

“She’s—“ I looked to my side and saw that Tiffany and Hyoyeon weren’t there anymore

I started to panic and searched for them. In times like this I really wish that God gave me a few more inches. My head turned from left to right as I push my way through this sea of people. Suddenly I felt a warm hand holding mine. I turned my head and saw Tiffany with Hyoyeon following behind her.

“Where were you?” she asked worriedly

My heart starts beating faster again. Her hand is really warm. Really warm.

“I-I was looking for y-you guys” I stuttered as my eyes landed to our hands

She looked at where I was looking at and she suddenly let go. She cleared before turning her back on me.

“H-Hyo!” she called out

“Yah! No need to shout! I’m just centimetres away from you!”

“O-Oh you were t-there?”

Hyoyeon looks at her unbelievably.

“Wow, don’t I have an existence?” she answered sarcastically

“First year students please gather around here! All first year students please gather around!” a teacher shouted through a megaphone

“Let’s go?”

They nodded as an answer. While we were walking my hands keep bumping with Tiffany’s and she would say sorry every time it does.

I took all my courage to grab it and hold it firmly. She looks at me startled by my action.

“So I won’t lose you” I said almost in a whisper and I saw her smile with a tint of red on her cheeks
