Flowers (Sunken Ferry)

Looking at the calm cold water, 

The expanse so wide, 

Still so limiting, 

A cold wet cage, 

Where you are.

I have a bouquet of flowers for you, 

My arms are keeping it warm, 

It's a struggle to give it to you, 

How my arms doesn't wish to let go,

How I just wish to hold on to it. 

I bought those sneakers, 

That you had been begging me to buy, 

I bought a size bigger, 

Thinking you had grown​ bigger, 

I signed my wishes with your name on it. 

There are so many clothes, 

That I would like to get for you, 

A fitting would have been in order, 

You would have gone to college, 

And you'd have needed new set of apparels. 

 The money meant for your college, 

Is still in the bank untouched, 

I don't have another child to spend it for, 

It is just your father and me, 

A savings now for our old age. 

You're not here, 

Your children are but a dream, 

Work lets me pass the day,

No one will look after us, 

We will have to look after ourselves. 

 I sit here thinking of the past, 

Reliving those moments, 

Slowly replaying everything, 

Trying to remember, 

All of you. 

Tomorrow, 

I will try to live, 

Continue on, 

Until the day comes, 

That we will meet again. 

The days are passing, 

Slowly it may seem, 

We are getting long on our feet, 

The grey hair speaks of our journey,

You don't have much to wait.

That day, 

I'll have you back in my embrace, 

That I can kiss your cheeks, 

Look you in the eyes, 

And say, I missed you and I love you.

I came to greet you, 

How I missed you.

I'll be in college soon, 

Our dream, 

Our hope,

Our inspiration, 

Our tomorrow. 

I will have to do it alone, 

Fulfill it for the both of us. 

Best buddies, 

Best friends, 

Bestie. 

I bought sneakers for you, 

The same I have on, 

I signed your name on it. 

I feel guilty, 

I will always feel guilty, 

A sore ache deep in my soul, 

That will be a part of me forever.  

Changed, 

I was forever changed, 

I was lost, 

I did not know what I should do.

I grinded my teeth, 

And thought I must continue on, 

For you, 

For us, 

For our friends, 

For our families. 

Be determined, 

No matter what happens, 

In face of all circumstances. 

I will write a new history, 

I will make it for us, 

If I fall, 

I will fall forward, 

It will not be without trying my best, 

I will make you be proud of me.
