Chapter 6

Let Me See You (HIATUS)

Over a week had passed since Saehee confronted Minseok about quitting being her tutor. Some days she would cry—other days she would stay silent—but slowly they became closer.

"You're really good at math, how come you asked for a tutor any way?" Minseok brought up the question during their regular tutoring session.

"When I first arrived here, I couldn't solve something. I was scared about that." Minseok nodded in understanding. When something so sure for her suddenly became unsure, she didn't know how to handle it by herself.

"Come with me," Minseok grabbed her hand to follow him. She quickly slipped her hand out of his and made a small distance between them. “Don’t touch—“ she stopped herself from continuing her sentence. Minseok waited for her to calm down a bit before taking hold of her hand again. This time she didn’t pull away. Little by little she was opening up to him. Little by little she was fighting her mental condition. Minseok led her to the piano room, being cautious that her uncle wasn't around. Checking if the coast was clear first, he opening the piano door slowly to check if the room was empty. To his relief, no one was there.

Minseok took a seat on the piano bench and opened the alsdfk, revealing the black and white keys. "Are you going to play something?" Saehee asked.

"Yup." Minseok still had her hand his head, and tugged her down so that she would sit next to him. Saehee waited patiently for him to begin. She found herself being excited to hear him play. Minseok clasped his hands together, and rubbed his palms to warm up. He started playing:

I love your this,

your that,

your everything.

I love you.

He pushed down each key gently and smoothly. He had his eyes closed while playing, and his facial expression was calm. His body moved in rhythm with the music. Saehee looked back and forth from Minseok's hands moving beautifully across the piano and his face. Minseok ended with a content look on his face. Saehee blinked, disappointed that it was over already.

"It was beautiful. You play beautifully." Saehee complimented. Minseok smiled triumphantly.

"Thanks!"

"That piece...it felt like it was speaking to me in a way."

"Well it actually has words with it. The words are: I love your this," he played each part while saying the words that correlate with the music, "your that, your everything," he paused, "I love you."

Saehee's heart skipped a beat. Her cheeks quickly reddened to his words. I...love you? That one line repeated over and over in her mind. Minseok chuckled softly. "Are you embarrassed?"

"N-no! Why would I be?"

"Awe, how cute, your embarrassed self is really cute." Minseok cheekily grinned at her. Saehee rubbed her cheeks to get them to stop blushing. Minseok mentally patted himself on the back for being able to see a different side of Saehee.

From outside the door, Minseok heard the door knob jingle, which meant someone was opening it. He jumped up and dived behind the piano without thinking. Jonguk walked in with a stern look on his face. "Were you playing the piano?" He asked.

"No, I don’t know how to play," Saehee simply answered.

Strange, I'm pretty sure I heard a piano, he suspiciously scanned the room. He left soon after.

Minseok cautiously peeked up from behind the piano. "Why'd you hide?" Saehee asked, obviously hurt at his actions.

Minseok panicked and quickly tried to explain. "Your uncle told me that I'm supposed to strictly be your tutor. So I thought if he saw us together in here, he'll think that I'm disobeying him."

"Oh," Saehee changed from hurt to sad, "Uncle Jonguk...he spoils me; just like how my parents spoiled me. They would keep people away from me because they thought they would hurt me." Saehee spoke freely.

Minseok listened attentively. "Do you not like it?" He asked.

"Not like what?"

"Having to stay away from people?"

Saehee thought for a moment, "I don't like it. But I don't really have a choice. Either people leave me by their own free will, or my schizophrenia makes me leave."

"Remember what I told you? Don't blame things on your condition. If you want to be with people, then be with them. You just need to try hard." Minseok stared at Saehee the whole time he talked. Her eyes became watery and trembled, showing that what he said really affected her. "So, will you try?"

"...I'll try." She wiped her watery eyes with the sleeve of her shirt.

"Good job." Minseok smiled warmly at her, while patting her head reassuringly.

"Don't push yourself too hard though. Changing is a process. Take your time." Saehee nodded with her eyes being covered with her sleeve. Minseok sweetly smiled at her. She was changing in the right direction. He wanted to see her be able to accept herself.

Chapter 12: aww, that last part was just really cute. I'd thought you'd just make everything progress into the ' i love you' and 'i love you too' stage but I was wrong. Thank god for that, they still have a cute innocent relationship ^.^ I don't know, it really makes me happy to see the two of them acutally having a lot in common and i loved how you slowly revealed each one of these similarities as the story progresses.
