Jaejoong was so glad that the company was close to where he lived, as he definitely would’ve been late otherwise as he accidentally spend a tad bit too long in fussing over his appearance and his resume for any typos he had missed.

He parked his car and was about to get out when a little chime indicated him that he received a message.

Jaejoong smiled, his brother might be forgetful but he never forgets to respond to anything Jaejoong sends him. It doesn’t even matter whether it’s a smiley face or a long message, his little brother always responds. One of the traits that make him love his brother and stop him from strangling him whenever another alarm goes off in the apartment.

Jaejoong took in a deep breath and nodded to himself. I can do this!

He looked over his reflection in the small mirror and smoothed down the collar of his shirt, he was ready.

It took him a while figuring out where he is meant to be headed as he managed to push past the people waiting at the reception desk and ask for directions. His old habit of twirling a strand of his bangs resurfaced as he waited until he reached the designated floor. With one last twirl, he stepped out and was prepared to hopefully impress whoever was to interview him.

“Kim Jaejoong?” a man’s voice called out.

Jaejoong turned towards the voice and smiled, recognizing it to be the man he spoke with on the phone prior to coming here. “Yes, that’s me.”

“Mr. Shim will be with you in a minute, he is finishing up another interviewee.”

Jaejoong nodded and sat down at one of the chairs, reciting every answer he could think of to possible questions that may be fired at him.

It wasn’t the first time he was interviewed but the previous memory wasn’t too pleasant as he found himself being spoken down on due to his appearance and young age.

Jaejoong shivered, remembering the way the old man looked at him, almost missing his name being called as the man waved to get his attention.

“You can go in now. I wish you luck.” The man smiled and Jaejoong couldn’t help but to smile back. It was one of those contagious smiles, once again reminding him of his younger brother.

Jaejoong was about to knock on the door the man indicated him too but it flew open to his surprise and he was frozen for a moment as a middle-aged woman stomped her way out, her high-heels almost piercing the pristine stone floor.

He blinked. The woman was obviously turned down for the job in a rather harsh way for her to be acting so angry. Okay Jae relax…grumpy interviewer coming up.

Jaejoong entered the room, his eyes falling on the displeased features of a rather handsome young man. He couldn’t help but be surprised as he was expecting someone in their late forties with a bald patch and potbelly. He was clearly wrong.

“Sit down and you may begin introducing yourself.” The man said, bored eyes clearly showing that the previous people he had interviewed had all failed to impress him.

Jaejoong nodded and sat down, making sure to keep his voice even as he began introducing himself while handing his portfolio over to the man, hope soaring a little when he sees the man actually spend time looking and reading through his achievements and qualifications.

After getting slightly wary of the sound of his own voice, Jaejoong almost sighed in relief when the man stopped him, peering at him with a curious expression. “How old are you?”

“I’m twenty-five.”

A short pause, “Will there be any interference with working here due to relationships?”

Jaejoong’s eyes widened. He had never been asked such personal questions before regarding his dating life. But he thought nothing of it as he shook his head. “No, I don’t have a bo- I’m not in a relationship.”

A satisfied hum sounded from the young man’s lips as he pulled out a form and pushed it over to him. “These are the numbers and business partners our company keep in contact with and you’ll be needing to know everyone of them. Junsu will tell you the other minor details.”

Silence settled into the room and they both stared at each other before the man spoke up, raising an eyebrow. “A problem?”

“Did you just hire me?”

“I’m home! Where are you?” Yunho called out, setting his jacket on the kitchen chair before walking into the lounge room, only to find it empty.

His wife was meant to be at home all day because of her on-going sickness and Yunho had planned to surprise her in coming home early for a change to go have a fancy dinner or something she would like. “Hyemi?” he tried again, making his way out of the lounge room and upstairs to their bedroom.

Only to find it as empty as the lounge room, sheets perfectly folded as their housekeeper had made it this morning. What if she fainted somewhere? He panicked, thinking of the worse case scenarios as he rushed down stairs.

As he was about to grab his phone, the front door opened and his wife stepped into the room with arms full of shopping bags. He frowned; she wasn’t supposed to carry heavy things. “Yunho?” she gasped, eyes wide as she put the things down hesitantly.

“You’re not supposed to carry heavy things now Hyemi…why didn’t you just tell me that you wanted to go shopping? I could’ve gone with you.”

Hyemi laughed uneasily and went over to her husband, hugging him around his neck. “I’m fine dear, a little bit of shopping wouldn’t kill anyone.”

She smiled as she felt arms around her and sighed in secret relief as she hugged her painfully handsome husband to her.
