"Excuse me, but do I know you?"

I felt the world stop in its tracks as those words came out of his mouth.  It's been five months since I last saw him. Five months since I watched him slowly disappear from my eyes. And now, he's back. 

She seemed familiar, like a distant memory I could not clearly grasp.

"You know, you should only let your tears fall for the one person that knows how to hurt you but chooses not to."

I smiled as I wiped away the tears streaming down her face. I have this unbearable feeling of just wrapping my arms around her to keep her safe, to keep her from crying again.

I want to laugh at his naive persona. Can't he tell that the he's the reason for my tears?

"Baby, don't cry. I'll always be here with you."

What would you do when the person whom you've waited for so long comes back only to see you as nothing more but a stranger? 

Will you continue to cry?

Or will you just forget and move on?

It's a matter of choice wherein happiness is not guaranteed.
