AUTHOR's POV     Yunhee walked down the hallways receiving, as always, judging stares from everyone at her black eye. Annoyed, she glared at them, satisfied when they hurriedly looked away; after all they were afraid of her.  As soon as she arrived in front of her locker, the students that were crowding around it, instantly ran away, afraid to be beaten up by her for having snatched away her own space. She should have felt left out, but she had other thoughts running through her mind. How could she go to school when Naeun was dying? But what could she do when Naeun had pleaded her to go? She initially had decided to spend all the week with her, but her bestfriend had insisted so much that she couldn't say no. Thus Yunhee had reluctantly left the hospital and gone home, and at a very late hour at that, which only earned her a black eye and other scars.    "What are you thinking about, chingu?" Kai suddenly greeted her, swinging his arm around her neck as he smiled at her. But his grin quickly faded away when he turned his head to face her. Her black eye contrasting with her white skin and her arms shooting up around her torso, trying somehow to protect herself. He brought his hands on her shoulders, moving her so that she was facing him, the action only making her tremble more, her eyes shut tightly in fear.    "Yah, it's me, Jongin. What's wrong?" He asked with a concerned tone. Hearing his voice, Yunhee slowly opened her eyes, immediately changing her fearful expression into a cold and neutral one.    "I am not your friend and I clearly remember telling you not to touch me." She snapped making him let her shoulders go, but not managing to wipe his concerned face off with her statement.    "What happened to you?" He questioned referring to her black eye and completely ignoring her rejection. Yunhee began to feel small at his question, why was he asking anyways? Wasn't he aware of the fact that she was known to get into fights everyday?    "I've got into a fight." She explained starting to head towards her classroom. Why had she agreed on going to school again? If she had insisted on staying next to Naeun she wouldn't have had all those troubles in the first place. But then again, how could she deny anything to her dear bestfriend?  When she stepped into the classroom, her classmates started to gossip once again after noticing her new bruises, but it happened on daily basis and she had gotten used to it, the only thing she had to do was ignore them, a very simple task.   She calmly walked towards her seat and, after sitting on it, she zoomed everything around her out, her train of thoughts running towards her bestfriend's health. How could someone so young, die like that? How could the Heavens be so cruel? Naeun had still so much to experience, to live. She hadn't even understood the sense of life yet...it was so unfair, why Naeun? Why her bestfriend? Why couldn't Shim Yunhee be the one who suffered of cancer? Son Naeun had run away from her orphanage at thirteen and only an year later had she started living, not even at its fullest, her life. At thirteen she had started working at dangerous and odd places, at fourteen she had finally earned the right amount of money to buy herself a very small apartment with Yunhee's help. At sixteen she had found out about her illness and was immediately confined in those white walls and smelly-of-disinfectant room. It was so saddening, she basically had lived barely two years of her life, just to be locked in that damn hospital.    "What are you thinking about so intensely?" Kai suddenly popped next to her. She tried not to show that se had just been scared to death and slowly turned her head to face him. What. The. Hell? When had he moved his desk next to hers? She rolled her eyes, utterly annoyed. Why was he pestering her? Couldn't he leave her alone like everyone in the school?    "Move. Away. Right. Now." She ordered with a hard stare, but only earning a pout from the boy.    "Aaayyy why are you always rejecting me? Can't we be friends? Can't you see that I'm soooo lonely~" Kai whined blinking his eyes and rubbing his chest as if it really hurt. Yunhee ruffled her hair in total frustration, that kid, really... As she did so, Kai caught a glimpse of something shining around her wrist, which got him very curious since it looked quite familiar...Had he finally found the Shim Yunhee he and  his friends had been looking for?  Remembering that she somehow didn't like being touched, he gently and slowly grabbed her wrist, surprising her yet not scaring her like he had always done. He knew that he was making her uncomfortable when she started to attempt on freeing herself from his firm grip, as if she didn't want him to look at her wrist but he couldn't help but grow even more suspicious, what was she hiding exactly?    "What are you doing? Let go!" She shouted, the teacher not even caring if she was disturbing the lesson as he was afraid of her like everyone.  Kai ignored her whimpers and rolled up her sleeve, just to remain completely shocked at the sight. Bruises, deep cuts, scars, swollen spots...What the heck had happened to that girl? But he knew that asking would have been useless, she wouldn't have answered anyway, he had to wait and let her be the one telling him. Instead he diverted his attention on the bracelet sparkling around her small wrist, it was a simple small silver chain with a four-leaf clover hanging on it, yet he knew that it meant the world to her. He turned the four-leaf clover and was not surprised to find a 'Hyunnie' engraved on it. He smiled, he had finally found the right girl.    Yunhee curiously stared at Kai. She had expected him to freak out and ask millions of questions about her tortured arm, he had looked at it with shock written on his face but what had surprised her the most was the fact that he had diverted his attention on her most precious possession, instead of putting his nose into her business. She wouldn't have ever said it out loud, but she had kind of appreciated him in that moment, because she knew that with that curious self of his, it was hard not to open his mouth and spit out whatever ran through his mind, but he had wisely and sensitively decided not to ask her anything.    Noting that he was done staring at her wrist, she immediately took her arm back, rolling down her sleeve.    "Hey, that bracelet is really beautiful." He complemented, earning an odd look from the girl. She had never heard those words about the bracelet before. It was too plain and simple to receive any kind of attention, it even surprised her that Kai had actually noticed it. But nonetheless, yes, that bracelet was really beautiful and she couldn't help but smile, satisfied that someone had finally seen its brightness under that simple facade.  Kai mentally grinned when he saw a glimpse of her small and timid smile. Despite the black eye and various cuts, she looked beautiful when she smiled, her eyes twinkling. He had to admit that she was indeed a stunning girl, her long wavy chocolate brown locks, her petite nose, plump lips and milky skin. Her wonderful features could be clearly seen under those bruises and he didn't know how beautiful she could be without those. A Goddess perhaps,
