I moved my head to the music as I sped down the interstate. Mir had fallen asleep about an hour ago, so things were pretty quiet except for the radio.
“Enjoying the quiet time?”
I jumped at the female voice coming from the backseat. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw Sooyoung, smiling at me.
“You startled me… do you need something?” I asked.
“Not particularly. I was just doing a progress check. You’ve got the warp seal right?” she said.
“Yeah,”
“Good. How is Sulli by the way, I haven’t seen her in ages. Is she still an oddball?”
“Oddball is an understatement,”
Sooyoung chuckled.
“That is true… You’re going to steal the demonblade from Jung Byunghee correct?” she asked.
“Yeah, that’s where we’re headed,”
“Then you’ll need this,” she replied, giving me her golden apple.
“You’re… giving me this?” I said… slightly shocked.
“I’m not giving it to you… I’m letting you borrow it. It will only work for six hours. There’s no way you’ll be able to beat Jung Byunghee without it,”
“Thanks for the pep talk,”
There was no response. I looked in the mirror and Sooyoung was gone. Mir shifted in his seat.
“Who are you talking to?” he mumbled.
“Go back to sleep… I’ll fill you in once we get to Byunghee’s mansion,”
