Worlds Collide: The Collision

Jungah glanced up as the doors to the conference room opened; she was expecting Kris to come. It was the monthly meeting for the hotel at Jeollado. She had sent him a message earlier that she wanted to talk, but to her disappointment, it was Kris’s secretary who came in with another director.

“I would like to apologize on Director Wu’s behalf, he’s busy today.”

Jungah exhaled and looked away.

Kris deleted the message and sat down on his chair.

He had no idea how to face Jungah. Yes, he missed her terribly but he felt nothing but…

“We need to talk, you know that.” Jungah walked in the room.

Kris looked away.

“I told secretary-”

“I don’t care what you told her, Kris, please-”

“How many times do I have to repeat myself? I don’t want to see you, Jungah.” He spat.

Jungah stepped back.

“Li Jiaheng…” She trailed off.

“I don’t want to deal with all these anymore…this…has to stop.”

“What are you saying?”

“Maybe, I’m not the right guy for you.”

With those simple words, Jungah’s eyes watered and her chest started to hurt.

Not because of her asthma.

She scoffed.

“Well, maybe you’re right.”

The black Veyron sped out of the parking lot lithely. Jungah stepped on the gas as tears flooded her eyes.

“Maybe, I’m not the right guy for you.”

“How many times do I have to repeat myself? I don’t want to see you, Jungah.”

“I don’t want to deal with all these anymore…this…has to stop.”

Her lips quivered in pain.

It was the end.

She didn’t even know how to respond to what Kris said.

She stepped on the brakes right in the middle of the road.

Then after being strong for so many years, Jungah broke down.

Kris exhaled and loosened his tie.

Then he heard his secretary step in the room.

“Sir, miss Xi sent these earlier.” She said.

Kris turned to her.

Secretary Seo was holding onto a box, then she opened the lid. Inside the box was cake, it was simple with white frosting, but the lettering on it made Kris wince.

It was the characters for “I’m sorry” in Mandarin.

And it was clear that it was Jungah’s writing.

The Veyron’s wheels squealed in protest as Jungah parked at their garage, from the living room Yejin looked up with a troubled expression.

“Talk to her.” Lay pleaded.

Yejin frowned, then they heard the front door open.

“I’ll try.” She nodded, Lay smiled and squeezed her hand before letting her go.

“Hey.” Yejin said softly as she stepped in Jungah’s room.

“Right, I forgot, I promised to show you around.” Jungah grinned at her. Yejin sighed.

“I know how you’re feeling, don’t-”

“Feeling? But I’m fine.” She blinked. Yejin shook her head.

“You might have cleared the rumors, but let’s be honest, you don’t give a damn about those.”

Jungah looked away, she walked towards the bathroom, then she was out wearing a pair of loose shorts and a sweater.

“What about Kris? Is everything okay?” Yejin asked.

Jungah smiled.

“He was never the right guy for me, I have to-”

Jungah and Yejin jumped lightly as they heard shouts coming from the living room.
