Description
A door creaked as it was pushed open and revealed a figure as it made its way towards a shelf and picked up a dusty old book. Not only was the book dusty but everything was dirty, dusty and covered in more dirt. It gently dusted the old book, careful of not destroying. The book was really old, like an ancient like the figure that was holding it and softly opened it revealing thousand of texts and information and its voice was out as it accompanied the large room.
"Let me tell you a story.All of you knew that every story starts off with a 'once upon a time' and ends with a 'happily ever after'.That's how every story starts and ends. This book is no exception at all and even if I don't start with a 'once upon a time', it will still start as the same but I'm not sure about 'happily ever after' though.Sure every story has 'Once upon a time' and 'Happily ever after' and like I said about the book earlier, it was no exception. It does have a 'Happily ever after'.....but I don't know when and where and also how and so that's why I've decided to read it.Want to join me?" and with that said, the figure started to read it. If you are curious, you may sit down and listen to it and hopefully enjoy it to your heart's content.
In the year X771, there was a city that was known for its kind deeds, humble townspeople and most of all was the light that was radiating from it. It was Levis City. Levis City was a vast city that was formed by three huge neighboring towns.They were Lux Lucis, the town that is located on the very center with two noticable large bridges stretching from east and west.Lux Lucis was known as the town were merchandises like harvests,crops,goods,weaponries for hunting are being transported and dropped at the very town to be selled and to be bought by the townspeople.When you walked past the east gate and crossed the bridge then you will arrive at the town of Adustum.Adustum is where the sun rises since it is located at the east.Due to this, they were popular for growing crops, harvesting them,gaining goods and having them be transported to Lux Lucis to be selled. All fruits and vegetables from Lux Lucis that can be seen being sold at the marketplace were originally from Adustum.Now if you walked past the west gate and crossed the bridge then you will arrive at the town of Aduro.If Adustum is the town where the sun rises,Aduro is the town where the sun sets down since it is located at the west.Not far from Aduro is a forest and a vast lake where people from Aduro goes and hunts for food like wild boars. They were quite known for transporting meat,fish and chicken.All the meat,fish and chicken in Lux Lucis came from Aduro. Aduro was the most popular town in that year due to its skilled hunting and most of all are for there weaponries. They were the first to use weaponries that they used for there everyday lives. Levis City was peaceful, bright and full of laughter. Levis City is suspended inside a high brick wall that wards off unwanted people from outside. At the south was a huge golden gate.All of this were made of the towns people of Aduro.When you walk through this gate then you will walk past a long pathway then if you finally arrived at the end then you are immediately inside Levis City or to be more specific, in Lux Lucis. The gate at the south was called the descending gate. At the descending gate, there is a sign just beside it. It was there motto.
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
The figure stopped reading and remarked.
"There was one word that travellers always used as they described the vast city, P E R F E C T I O N"
"If that is so, then what's the problem?" The figure was curious and asked.
"I know you are curios too even I. Who wouldn't be? Everything is just perfect. Others may not notice it but its perfection is the problem itself. It was too perfect for the comfort of others." The figure then continued reading.
By means of others, the other cities, the other travellers from outside. They envied the perfection of Levis City. They wanted what that very city has but they were always taken down even if they try to attack them. Levis City was too powerful,in other words, Aduro was too powerful. They were the ones in front in every battle as a life was never taken while there enemy are always completely wiped out. To be more precise,its the city of Obscurus. Obscurus is the other existing city other than Levis City but compared to Levis,Obscurus is closer to destruction. Many of its townspeople are suffering and dying not only because of scarcity,drought,hungery but also because of its ruler. Its ruler is really cruel and only cares for itself.He was desperate to find power and revive his own city not because he cares for them but no one is serving him any more. Due to desperation, something from a place where no human being has ever visited appeared and offered him powers in exchange for his soul and he immediately agreed. On the year of X775, in the date of November 10, it was Levis' anniversary and everyone was excited but in the middle of it,something appeared. They were things that no one can classify and it caused havoc at Levis City. Many were slaughtered,many were destroyed and the once bright city can now be compared as a gloomy and dark city like Obscurus. They first targetted Adustum and destroyed there crops and next was Lux Lucis and finally was Aduro. It was devastating, sound of cries can be heard from every nook and cranny and no place can ever be called as safe even in your own home. Blood smeared in every floor and wall.Women, children,men are on the floor drowning in there own blood. How cruel for them to suffer like this.Soon Levis City was closed to total destruction and the count of the survivors can be easily counted within there hands. They were looking for something or someone to save them as they prayed for there health and safety.There were few survivors from the other towns and the most numerous survivors were from Aduro. The survivors from the other towns immediately went towards Aduro. Soon this so-called creatures made there way towards the Setting gate. Out of options, one of them destroyed the bridge that were used as a connection to the other towns. The creatures were stopped and soon morning came but grief was the only thing that covered them. No one spoke a word as they let there emotions speak itself. They are now stranded inside Aduro as they fight to survive even though they are in there own territory because this creatures are always finding a way to go to them and kill the remaining survivors. After a few yeas they made the same wall that was around Levis City but this time only around Aduro and peace has now settled but when X891 has arrive, everything has been repeated but the people of Aduro has found a way to save them and a way to avoid the repeatance of the horrid X775 and thus, this is where everything starts.
The figure closed the book and muttered.
"My time is up for now and I wish to see you once again.Don't be afraid, just knock on my door and I will be inside waiting for you with the book close to me that is if you are still willing to listen but if you are then please come again next time."
