Chapter 10
Not Like IceUnfortunate Event #10 — Regret and Remorse.

"Some people are cold,
but their hearts are on fire.
Those people wear masks,
and hide in the shadows.
They could be lured,
but only by demons.
Only to have their face unmasked,
and their heart taken.
Their life in danger,
their mind shaken."
Taekwoon awoke at the first sign of a chill, his spine shivering as his eyes fluttered open to the bright window of the hospital. He leaned over the metal reeling, hoping to see his angel sleeping beside him, but she wasn't there.
"What am I doing here? I have nothing else to live for." He whispered as he leaned back onto the bed, staring at the white ceiling. "Why am I here..." He asked, supposedly to God. He slid his hands all over his body, but he found no wounds. "There's nothing wrong with me... why am I here..." He asked as he turned his head, looking over at a piece of paper lying on the wooden table
"Heart attack."
The last thing Leo remembered was running. Running for his life. The man who had killed innocent heroes and Leo's only love had chased him all the way to the park.
That man did not want any survivers.
Yet here he is, lying in the cold hospital that he was once in for severe wounds from the same man. At this moment, Leo wished he was dead, but his mind told him not to think so suicidal. Feeling tired inside, he sighed and stood up, exercising his muscles as he walked out of his room barefoot. Taekwoon strolled through the hallways, peeking into each room with curiosity. After going through 3 rounds of floors, he had finally reached the 6th floor, the top floor. Was there any difference in which floor you were put in?
Leo walked slowly, noticing that most of the patients here were all injured from some sort of violence. Perhaps he had at one point been on this floor, although he could not remember. As he peeked into the 3rd room, he froze.
Maybe his mind had played with him, showing him his angel asleep peacefully. Leo swore that all of yesterday was not a dream. But his mind wasn't playing tricks, for he could see her clutching her chest, where she had been shot.
Leo opened the door silently and walked in, quietly shutting the door behind him.
There she lied, her breathing was faint, but audible. He walked toward the bed and stared at her in disbelief. She was alive, and not dead. The young man smiled, his eyes blurry from tears. And when his tears shed, he covered his mouth to keep himself from shouting. "She's still here..." He whispered quietly as he wiped his tears and fell onto his knees, his other hand gripping the reeling. After minutes, he finally stopped the tears and stood up. He didn't take her eyes off of her, and for a good 15 minutes, he stood there, watching her breathe. Gently, he slid his hand down her warm cheek. He gulped before confessing it all.
"N-Nado saranghae.. I promise t-to listen to you.. M-.... M-Mianhamnida... This was my fault...." He said quietly before biting his bottom lip. He remembered all the bad things that had happened, all because he wouldn't listen to her.
The time when she told him that man was evil, and that he was a danger.
The time whe-...
Actually, that was it.
Feeling a little less guilty now that he had confessed it all out, he bent over and kissed her forehead gently, hoping not to wake her up. After that, he did not want to disturb her anymore. Silently, he left the room, but too early,
for he did not check her heart rate.
