Again, it was nearing 10pm. There weren’t many customers left and it was cold as it was drizzling outside.

“Shin, don’t you have an entrance exam tomorrow?” Min asked Shin who was wiping the tables.

“Ne, wae?”

“Shouldn’t you be at home studying?”

“Ah, kenchana. I’ve revised everything already” Shin smiled confidently at her.

“You should go back home and rest” Ara said as she stepped out from the back after eavesdropping on the conversation.

Shin was a bit surprised to see Ara being nice. She stood quiet for a while.

“What?” Ara said as both she and Min looked at the staring Shin.

“You’re being nice to me” she said in hushed tone.

Min laughed quietly to herself while Ara was cursing Shin under her breath.

“Yah! You think I’m evil?”

“Aniyo, just that, you’re scary sometimes” she confessed.

“Well of course, how else are you supposed to work here?” Ara said.

“That’s enough Shin. You can go home now. Make sure you ace it” Min said still laughing quietly to herself.

“ye, kamsahabnida!” Shin bowed to both of them. She took off her apron and bowed to them again.

“Don’t fail!” Ara said.

“ne, arrasso” Shin smiled at her and walked out.

When she walked out another person came in.
A tall guy in an orange hoodie which covered and protected himself from the rain outside.

“Welcome to Cookies and Cream” Min and Ara said in unison.

“Are you still open?” the guy said. His face was still unclear because his hoodie was covering his face.

“We’re about to close but its okay. You must be cold, sir. Here, take this….” Min took out a dry cloth for the guy to wipe himself with, but when she looked back at the guy, he had taken his hood off and revealing his face.

Min was speechless and so was Ara whose mouth was already wide open in awe.

The guy had fair skin which matched his cute baby face, and his dark brown hair contrasted the colour of his light brown eyes that you could simply drown in.

“urm, I’m feeling uneasy when you two stare at me like that” the guy said but smiled at Min.

“ye..ye, mian” Min said and gave him the dry cloth. They both snapped out of it.

“Would you like anything to eat?” Min asked nervously.

“Is an éclair ok?”

"Chocolate éclair coming up!” Ara said and ran quickly into the kitchen to get it done for him, but she was intently listening to the conversation.

‘Min! say something!’ Ara thought.

“er..urm, something to drink?” Min asked and flashed her sweetest smile.

“I think…hm”

Min’s heart was beating faster and faster seeing the heart-throb making a cute face while thinking. His manly voice on the other hand was like music to her ears.

“Jasmine tea?” he said.

“J..ja..jasmine tea?” she stuttered. She felt a sudden happiness.

“yup. I think it would be nice to have Jasmine tea especially at a time like this. It has a nice aroma and even warms up the body. Don’t you think so?” he said and gave Min a smile-to-die-for.

Min couldn’t answer. Inside, she was panicking, slapping herself mentally.

Ara, even though in the kitchen could feel Min’s vibes after hearing him say her name.

“Jasmin! Could you help me out here?” Ara said out loud on purpose.

He raised his eyebrows and his eyes widened. So did Min’s.

“Jasmin! Oh Jasmin!” Ara said again on purpose.

“urm, excuse me” she said flustered and trotted to the back. 

“Ara!!!” she said in a loud whisper and attacked Ara.

“Yah! Yah! Wae!!!” Ara said while trying to avoid herself from being attacked by her embarrassed friend.

“You’re killing me out there!” she said while holding onto Ara’s chef uniform collar and shaking her violently.

“I’m..help..ing..you…out…Min..” Ara said in between breaths as her friend was trying to kill her.

“excuse me?” The guy’s voice was heard from outside.

Min let go of Ara and quickly ran out.

“choiseonghabnida” she bowed and made the tea in front of him.

“so…your name is Jasmine?” the guy said.

“Just without the ‘E’” Ara shouted from the back.

“Is that true?” the guy asked Min.

Min nodded and hung her head low, avoiding his gaze, and also to avoid him from seeing her blush.

“It’s a pretty name” he said and smiled at Min.

Min looked back at him and she could feel her face burn in embarrassment.

Ara came out from the kitchen bringing along the éclair that he had ordered. Min had also finished preparing the Jasmine tea and put it on the counter.

“Here you go…” Min said hoping that he’d give her his name.

“Nichkhun” he said and smiled at her.

“ah…”

“Here you go, Nichkhun sshi” Ara interrupted.

Min gave Ara a dagger glare and Ara replied with mischievous smile.

It wasn’t raining anymore outside.
After he had finished, he thanked them both.

“Come again soon” Min said and bowed. Ara did the same.

Without opening his mouth, instead he replied with a smile.
And he left the bakery.

“I should hang myself. I don’t deserve to see a smile as beautiful as that” Min said and let out a sigh.

“I have a hook on the kitchen ceiling. You can borrow it if you want” Ara said behind her.

“Shouldn’t you do it first?” Min glared.
