Shreya was working hard to keep up to her post. Being the head photographer of her company

was a difficult thing, with her handicap. But still she worked diligently. Both of us used to stay

busy the whole day. Since her condition had improved, Shreya only visited the rehab once a

week.

 

 But one day something happened, I don't know whether it was good or bad. But it was sure

life-changing for Shreya.

 

We had decided to go for a small outing, for a while. She too had a photo project on nature and

I had to make a newspaper report on the place. It was good for both of us to go out somewhere

together.

 

I had already booked the place we were going to stay for the weekend. Making sure we had

taken everything, we headed for our small trip to Bukhansan National Park near Seoul.

 

The place was actually great, nice and beautiful. Just perfect for whatever work we came,

photography, travel article and for enjoyment. The service provided by that place was nice too.

 

Shreya was actually in love with that place. The animals added to the beauty of nature. Our

travel guide gave us important information about the place. Shreya now managed herself well on

her wheelchair, so I didn't always follow her, she managed herself.

 

It was that evening that things suddenly turned difficult for her.

 

In the evening, after our small trip from the forest, I entered the washroom to freshen up. She

was on the wheelchair busy with her laptop. Her camera kept on the table. There were other

things on the table too.

 

I was still in the washroom, when suddenly the lights went out. I understood that it was power

cut. I was not someone who got easily scared. I maintained my calm but Shreya couldn't.

 

SHREYA POV

I shut down the laptop and had closed my eyes for a second when suddenly the light in the

room flickered and the lights went out. It was a power cut and immedietly panic took over me, I

was scared of the dark.

 

The room was just too dark, I couldn't even see my hands. Suddenly I started shaking, and I

became nervous. I had to look for the torchlight, where was it,

 

Somehow groping the bed, I ran my hands all over the place. I felt the pillows, then the lamp

shade, the glass of water also came in contact to my hands. In nervousness, I dropped it, but I

still couldn't find the torch.

 

Where the fraking hell was it?

 

Screw the torch, my cell-phone...I had to look for a source of light. I felt like dying. Where the

heck was it?

 

I still looked for my cell-phone, torch, whatever, anything that could provide light. That's when

while shifting my wheelchair forward, it got stuck somewhere, and I was sprawled on the floor.

Nothing was coming to my head, it was blank. I became even more nervous and panicky. I

started crying. Holding the bedside, I tried getting up on my feet to find a source of light.

 

SIWON POV

Shreya....she must be stuck there. She was scared of the dark. I immediately ran into the room

to look for her. I knew where the torchlight was kept, so I immediately moved my hands to find

it. I switched it on.

 

"Shreya...!!" I shouted. She was half up on her feet, but scared as hell. She had used her feet to

stand up, to find light. But soon she lost her grip, might be due to nervousness. I ran to her,

before she would once again hit the floor.

 

"Shreya....you walked...you ....you used your legs."

 

"Did I...??" Shreya said, crying, half dazed. There was a dull pain in her legs, she complained.

 

"We will go to the doctor tomorrow." I said raising her up and taking her to the bed. Shreya

could use her legs now. They were no more useless. Shreya immediately drifted off to sleep.

Her fear had got her walking. She took jer first step after the accident.

*Bukhansan National Park...it's a park situated near Seoul. That was the nearest place I found worth touring.
