“He has some bruising to his neck and face, a little swelling but we’re working to bring that down, but other than that he’s going to be okay. It is dangerous that he out from lack of air and with the blow to the head he could very well have a concussion, but his vitals are responding fabulously so I have no doubts that he’ll be out of here in a few days.”

“Fabulously…of course, he’s Kim Heechul after all. How long has he been out for?”

“Just a few hours, but we gave him something to help ease the pain. I’d say that  - “

Heechul could hear these voices flowing through his ears, but there was a buzz in his mind that was preventing him from fully being able to think straight. It felt as if someone had left a television on a static channel and the noise filled his ears in a dully aching way. Something was going on, that much he could tell. He was not asleep but nor was he awake, which made him think that he was floating through limbo. The voices sounded so close and familiar and he wanted nothing more than to open his eyes and see who was there, but if felt as if his eyelids were weighed down with bricks.

But he could always trust his sense of smell, and the aroma that he was breathing in was soft scented cologne that his mind placed with a warm hold, a gentle smile, and eyes that looked at him with love.

Siwon.

A soft groan escaped Heechul’s throat as he struggled open his eyes, and all of a sudden he felt a hand on his arm and a whisper that he couldn’t quite make out, but he could recognize that touch anywhere.

“S-Si ‘on…” He blinked once, twice, and cringed as he was blinded from the bright light shining down on him, but the haziness faded eventually and soon enough he found a worried Siwon staring down at him.

“Are you awake, Heechul? Does it hurt anywhere? The doctor said they’re giving you something to make the pain go away. Do you remember what happened?” Siwon asked in a rush, soothingly Heechul’s hand.

It took a minute for everything to process through his mind, but Heechul his lips and attempted to nod his head, only to jolts of pain to shoot through him. He grimaced with a whine and clenched his eyes shut.

“Too bright,” He mumbled, his voice scratchy. He felt some movement around him and a small click of the light switched being flipped off made him open his eyes once again. “Thanks,” he whispered as Siwon sat beside him. He breathed in deeply and looked around the room, already knowing that he was in the infirmar
