My Evil Girlfriend
Ad Infinitum
My phone rang and for a moment I stared at the unknown number before answering it, “Yes, hello?”
“Yonghwa-ssi! I got the flowers! ohh you’re so sweet!”
I thought for a second before finally asking, “Ah, who’s this?”
“You’re such a joker, Yonghwa-ssi! It’s me Ehmi.”
“Oh yeah… yes, of course!” I replied but I tried hard to remember who the girl was. After a few minutes, I made up an excuse just to end the call. It was a confusing one after all.
I never sent anybody flowers except—
I hurriedly called the flower shop where I ordered a bouquet of roses for my girlfriend and checked if it was delivered correctly. They said that Seohyun personally received it so relief rushed over me. But then again, I waited for her call that never came.
“Hi, baby,” I greeted quite enthusiastically the moment she answered her phone.
“Hi…”
I could hear her uninterrupted typing on her keyboard. “Busy?”
“Hmmm… yeah, just some stuff to finish before the weekend comes.”
“Are you free tonight?”
“I’m not sure. I might have a last minute thing.”
“Okay, call me if nothing comes up. I want to spend time with you.”
“Alright. Should I hang up now?”
I felt ignored again, “Uhm, okay…. Hyun…” For a few seconds, I waited for her to answer but when there was none, I murmured, “I love you…”
“Me too… bye.”
She dropped the call just like that and I just remembered why I called her. I decided to send her message instead, “Hyun, did you get the flowers I sent you?”
“Oh, those were for me? I sent them again to your other girlfriend. The one you had lunch with the other day?”
I sighed reading her reply. There’s no winning a psycho war with her. I replied cautiously, “She’s a client, Hyun. But I will call her and tell her about the misunderstanding.”
“Oh great! Glad to know you have her number.”
I didn’t know how to respond to that.

I went to her apartment with a bouquet of red roses. She was dressed in a robe. “Oh, Oppa…”
I hugged her tight “I miss you,” I said.
“But not when you went clubbing again last night.”
I opened my mouth to reply but closed it again when she raised her forefinger and walked back to her room.
“You’re going somewhere?” I said as I followed her and watched her took off the robe and put on a red evening dress that fell just a little above her knee.
“I’m having dinner out. But if you want to go, you can come along.”
“Oh really?”
I tagged along too late to know that it was a dinner date with her old high school friend who came back from abroad. They talked for hours; while the man tried to include me in their conversation, Seohyun ignored my presence, like I wasn’t there at all. She made me look like a fool.
She tramples on my ego every possible way she can. And, I willingly let her get away with it.
Even my ego belongs to her.
I sighed to myself. I don’t even know who I am anymore.
My girlfriend is the devil and I don’t really care.

It was a long weekend so we decided to go to the ski resor
