L.joe placed Yejin carefully on his bed, placing a pillow on her head and sat beside her

He sighed and stared at her. She was full of bruises, looking weak. The happy and cheerful Yejin was nowhere to be seen.

"Stupid chatterbox" he muttered. "Why didn't you fought back?" he raised his hand to flick her forehead but stopped when Yejin stirred.

"No.." she mumbled in her sleep.

"What?" he frowned and looked at Yejin.

"No..." she repeated.

"Now what? You're sleep talking?" L.joe huffed.

"I didn't..."

"You didn't what?"

"I didn't...kill him" she cried out.

L.joe froze "kill? kill who?"

"Oppa...I'm sorry"

"Oppa? another oppa?" L.joe scoffed.

Just then, a phone call came L.joe stood up and answered the phone.

"Hello? Oh abeoji.."

"Byunghun, I had to go to a birthday party and I don't think I can go home early tonight."

"Is that so? Go on, Take your time. I can take care of myself."

"You sure?"

"Yes"

"Okay, I trust you. Bye"

"Bye" L.joe hunged up.

.....

It was already dark outside but Mr Lee hasn't come back yet. L.joe yawned and wedged his pencil between the pages and shut the textbook.

It was almost 9 pm.

*When is he coming back?*

L.joe called him.

"Hello?" Mr. Lee answered.

"Abeoji, are you almost here?"

"I'm afraid not. The trains are shut down temporarily while they fix them. Why? Is there something wrong?" His voice raising with alarm.

"No, of course not." he assured him. "I just wanted to know if I had to eat alone or not."

"Oh. yes" Mr. Lee sighed in relief. "I believe so. Mianhe. There are some pork cutlets in the freezer. You know how to cook them right?"

"Yes. Have a safe trip." he hung up.

L.joe stopped in front of his bedroom's door where Yejin is resting. He took a deep breath and slowly opened the door.

He peeked inside and saw her lying in his bed with her eyes closed. *Still asleep?*

He treaded carefully towards her and waved his hand on her face. But Yejin didn't even react.

"I'm just going to cook alright? stay here" he chided softly.

L.joe left the room and went downstairs to the kitchen.

He took the cutlets out and popped them into the microwave to defrost. In the midst of bringing out the vegetables, the power shut down.

They were all out. It was a power outage.

L.joe placed the vegetables on the table which is in front of him. *A blackout?*

Yejin woke up from her sleep. She cannot see anything but darkness.

Sstood up from the bed and started shaking uncontrollaby.

She forgot to breathe momentarily and when she finally remembered to do so, she started hyperventilating.

All sorts of emotions and memories flooded into her mind.

"Yejin, where are you?!"

"Oppa! It's dark! I can't see anything! Where did you go?!"

"I'm here, silly. I'll always be here for you"

She clamped her hands over her head as painful screams erupted in her flashbacks.

"OPPA!"

"OPPA!"

"OH GOD! PLEASE.. WAKE UP.."

Yejin opened her eyes again and her breathing only came out faster. She didn't even think twice and ran downstairs.

She tripped and fell. She ignored the painful bruises and just ran. She skidded into a stop.

L.joe turned around. Yejin saw his face in the moonlight and exhaled in relief. "What the hell-!" He yelped as she threw her arms around his neck.

Yejin clung onto him tightly and squeezed her eyes shut.

"What the . Get off of me." L.joe tried to pry her off but she just tighten her hold on him.

"Please, oppa. I'm scared... I'm so scared oppa.." she cried.

L.joe stopped and let her go. His eyes widened as he stood there, speechless. *Is she.. crying?*

Slowly and gently he pulled her back. His eyes widened even more at the glistening tears at her cheeks.

"Oppa.." Yejin whispered tearfully.

L.joe softened. He reached out and wiped her tear away with his thumb.

Once again, she flung her arms around him.

This time, L.joe didn't stop her.
