Chapter 07.

 

[ Seyoung's POV ]

 

"Seyoung, hurry up! Hoya's already here" I heard oppa shout from the living room

"Just a minute" I shouted back and then applied light lipstick on my lips. I stood up, faced the mirror and looked at myself. Yup, I'm ready. I took a deep breath before coming out of my room.

 

I went out of my room and spotted Sunggyu oppa sitting at the couch next to Hoya and both are already in tux and they seemed to be engaged with their conversation.

 

"How do I look?" I asked, trying to gain their attention and gladly, I did. The two looked at me and stood up.

"You look stunning" Sunggyu oppa smiled and gave me a hug. I whispered a soft thanks to him and he broke off the hug.

"How do we look?" he asked, putting an arm around Hoya's shoulders.

"You look...uhh" I said, thinking of the right word to say "Different"

"That's a compliment right?" Oppa asked me with a confused look

I laughed and said "Of course"

 

Once out of the house, I saw 2 cars parked. One is Hoya's and the other is Oppa's. I then started making my way to Oppa's car but he stopped me by grabbing my wrist.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"To your car" I said it like it's the most obvious thing in the world

He then moved his index finger from left to right, indicating a no "Na-uh, dongsaeng. You're riding with him, in HIS car" he pointed to Hoya who was standing beside me, watching us.

"But Oppa" I pouted "Why can't I ride in your car?"

"He is your date, not me" he said "Bye" He waved goodbye and started walking towards his car. 

"Oppa!" I called, following him but I felt a grip on my wrist. I looked back and saw Hoya's hand holding my wrist, stopping me from taking steps towards my brother. He opened the door and said "Get in"

"Why would I?" I snapped at him.

"You heard your brother, I'm your date" he said.

I heard Sunggyu oppa's start and he drove off 

"I dont have a choice, don't I?" I said, giving up as I get inside the car.. He then closed it and walked towards the other side. I never knew he's a gentleman.

 

"Yah! Monkey" I called him but he didn't respond. I looked at him and he seemed to be focused on driving. "If you didn't agree to Woohyun's plan then we wouldn't be going together, so why did you?" I hissed at him. My question caught his attention as he stopped the car and looked at me. He started moving closer to me, leaving only few inches of distance between our faces. "Well, Why did you?" He whispered but with our closeness, I heard him perfectly. We're so close that I could feel his breath. 

"Y..yaa!" That's all I managed to say. He then smirked and moved his arm on my side, pulling something. "You're not wearing your seatbelt" He said, putting my seatbelt on and went back to driving. I took a deep breath and just looked at the window, not wanting him to see my red my face. Few minutes later, we arrived at the venue. I took off my seatbelt and was about to open the door but it already did. I was shocked to see Hoya holding it for me. When did he get out? How come I didn't notice? I then stood up and uttered 'thank you' to him. 

 

 

I saw my friends by the entrance and walked up to them to say hi.

"Seohyun, Jangmi " I called hugging the two "You guys look beautiful"

"Thanks" Jangmi said "You look gorgeous Seyoung"

"Gorgeous? She looks more than gorgeous" Seohyun complimented and I thanked them.

"So, where's L.Joe?" Seohyun asked. Oh yeah, I still haven't told them a thing about Byunghun.

"He's-"

"Sorry girls, I'm her date, not L.Joe" I heard monkey say as he put an arm around my waist.

"Hoya?" My friends said in unison. I could tell that they were shocked by the news, I mean, who wouldn't?

"Yes. Hoya." I said sounding unhappy "Well, it's Woohyun's idea"

The two then started laughing "Okay, what's funny?" I said, removing Hoya's arm around me.

"It's just that..." Jangmi started but she broke into laughter again 

"What?" I asked, getting a little bit impatient but the two didn't stop. "Oh nevermind, I'll just go find Sunggyu oppa" I said going inside and scanned the huge room for Sunggyu Oppa but finding him may be a little difficult as the room is already packed with people. Some are already in the dance floor, dancing their hearts out as an upbeat song is playing, some are enjoying the food and some are having pleasant conversation.

 

Slow song suddenly started playing. I looked at the dance floor, starting to get filled by couples. As I watched the couples dance sweetly and slowly, whispering at each other's ears, I sighed. I couldn't help but remember Byunghun. I remember how he holds my hand tightly whenever we're walking, how he wraps his hands around me protectively whenever I feel scared or lonely and the way he smiles at me. I sighed as I couldn't help but feel jealous and just wish that Byunghun is just by my side but no, he's with someone else and thousand miles away from me.

 

"Stop looking at the dance floor and start dancing" I heard Woohyun say, interrupting my train of thoughts.

"But I don't want to dance" I protested but he started dragging me to the center of the dance floor along with Hoya. He then put my arms around Hoya's neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Ya! What do you think you're doing?" I said, removing my arms around Hoya's neck but he stopped me.

"Just dance and have fun" he said, smiling at me "Just ignore the fact that you two are enemies and most importantly , forget L.Joe just for the night, alright?"

I sighed, knowing that I don't have a choice but agree "Alright"

He patted Hoya's back and smiled at me once again and then started walking away and my eyes followed him. I felt Hoya sway along the music, making me shift my gaze from Woohyun's disappearing figure to him. I also moved along to the music and felt his eyes on me. 

"Why are you staring at me?" I asked and he didn't respond but just continued looking at me. I smirked. My, my. "Don't tell me you're falling for me, Lee Howon." Now, what would he say for a comeback? His expression changed from blank to serious. I was expecting some insults or some cocky words from him but he surprised me with what he had done. He pulled me closer to him, our faces inches apart.

"What if I say yes?" He said in a low, y voice. His eyes looking intently at me and only me. 

"I'll just..." I said pulling away from him, giving our bodies distance as I'm feeling uncomfortable with our closeness. "I'll just...Uhh..." I then unwarpped my arms around his neck "Uhh...I need some air" I turned my back on him and started walking away.

 

I found myself seating on a bench near a fountain. I looked up in the sky, enjoying the sparkling night sky. I couldn't help but remember Hoya's eyes. They're just like this sky, mesmerizing, and once you look at them, you'll feel lost. Flashes of what happened back there with Hoya pop out of my mind. The way he pulled me closer to him, the way he looked at me and the way he said the words "What if I say yes." That's simply not Hoya, or is it? Wait a minute, is he planning something?

 

"Seyoung" I heard someone call me. I then shifted my gaze from the sky to the dashing man walking towards me.

"Hey Chunji" I smiled at him "What are you doing here?"

He thought for awhile before saying "Let's just say that I had a feeling that a beautiful lady needs my company so here I am." He sat next to me, flashing me his infamous smile that can melt ever girl's heart "How about you?"

"I was just getting some fresh air" I simply said, looking at the sky again. "It's getting pretty hot back in there." 

He agreed with me and let out a chuckle "Well, you seem to be in deep thoughts"

"Oh yeah. I was just thinking" I said, hoping that he wouldn't ask what or in my case who is on my mind.

"Thinking of L.Joe?" The sudden mention of Byunghun made me frown a little as I realized that I spent my time thinking about Hoya and not Byunghun but Chunji doesn't have to know that so I just smiled weakly at him and nodded.

I thought so much of how to improve this chapter but I guess this is all I can do. Hope you guys like it and thanks a lot for reading my story. It means a lot to me.
