“Hi tiffany” she said as she approached me

Her voice is as sweet as a cotton candy

I can’t see her clearly but her voice sounds familiar

“uhm, hi?” I waved my hand awkwardly as I squinted my eyes hoping to see her clearly

I move closer to the direction where I heard her voice

Then I was surprise to see her face an inch close to mine, her dark brown eyes staring at me

Then she said to me in a whisper

“tiffany, your late”

Then she’s gone

I look around trying to find her, but failed

Instead I’m hearing a loud and irritating sound

I look back and I saw a big alarm clock approaching me, I closed my eyes and open it again, the big alarm clock is still approaching me.

But before it get a hold of me, I run and run until I fell

*BAM*

I opened my eyes again, and so happy that it was just a dream.

And that irritating loud sound I’m hearing is just my alarm clock; I grab that annoying thing and immediately turned it off.

But the girl in my dreams, I think I saw her before

As I was rubbing my aching back because of that fall from my bed, I keep thinking of that girl.

That got me instantly wondering if I can see her again, or when can I see her again. 

A smile is slowly creeping on my face, that thought of her got me dreaming again.

Then I stood up and look at the clock

Its red LED light flashing that it’s 7:30 a.m

Upon seeing the time, that got me wide awake

Omg! Omg! Omg!

I’m going to be late for my first day of work

I grab my towel and ran straight inside my bathroom, good thing I’ve prepared the things and outfit I’ll be using today but yet again I’m still going to be late

I brushed my teeth while shampooing my hair; I have to do this so I can save myself from being fired on my first job.

After taking a bath, I instantly dress up for work and look at the time

7:40 a.m

I only got 20 minutes to go there, but I’m still lucky, my working place is near my apartment just 2 blocks away.

But then I remember that I’ll be wearing high heels that means I can’t run to save myself of being late.

So much for the luck, I think I have to accept that I’m really going to be late.

“Okay tiffany, relax” I said to myself as I comb my hair in front of the mirror

I gave one last look of myself and grab my bag and keys

“Good thing my car is delivered yesterday by Mr. Park”

I locked the door and run for the elevator, again I’m still lucky the elevator just arrive, I quickly went inside.

My dad once taught me before whenever there is an emergency and they need to use an elevator I have to hold the close door button till the doors close. 

Check, the doors are already closed, keep holding
Select the floor and do not let go of number and close door button till elevator moves.

I need to go to the basement parking so I pressed the basement button with letting go of the close button. Check

Dad told me that this will allow me to go straight to the floor with out stopping.

How my dad knows that?

His actually a chief of police until now

Whew, thanks to my dad, I arrived quickly down here at the basement

I took a glance at my watch as I walk fast searching for my car

7:45 a.m

Wow, all that happened in juts 5 minutes, I really am fast.

I chuckled softly 

Now where is that BMW X5?

Oh, here it is

Wow, I actually requested for a pink one but look what they bought me, it’s a shiny color black car

I just shrugged, whatever it’s still a car and I don’t have time to complain about it

I opened the car door at the driver side and went inside

There’s a sticky note posted on the steering wheel

Tiffany,

I’m sorry, if this is not the color of the car you requested
But look at the bright side you still have your first car

Good luck on your first day of work

Love, dad

I smiled at the message from my dad

Yeap, his telling the truth this is my first car

He bought me this as my graduation gift

“I forgive you already dad”

I quickly started the car and drove off the basement

Wow, this car really is something I think I won’t be late for today

I got stuck in traffic

This day is really not my day

I glance at the time its 7:55a.m

Omg!

I only have 5 minutes

I successfully escaped from that traffic; I quickly turned left and arrived exactly in front of the company I’ll be working for

7:59a.m

I still have 1 minute left I can do this!

Good thing this company have valet parking, I have no choice but to trust the valet guy and park my brand new car in a nice and safe place, so I quickly tossed my car keys to him and quickly went inside the company.

I have no time to look around and went straight to the elevator; since I’m alone here I can again do what my dad taught me.

I looked at my refection on the elevators door, and arrange myself

The elevator door opened, I arrived at the office and swipe my ID card at some kind of machine, and I think it’s for the ‘attendance’ of the employees

Well, to be honest I just copied what the other employees did

I look around, there not much employee present in the office, to think that it’s already passed 8a.m

Then a tall tan girl approached me


“uhm, hi are you a new employee?” she asked me looking at me from head to toe, I feel a little embarrassed and shy

I gave her a light smile and answer her question

“Good morning, yes I’m the new employee here, my name is Stephanie Hwang, but you can call me tiffany”

“Hwang?”

“Yes, why?”

“Oh I thought the name of our new employee is hwang miyoung”

I silently hissed, dropping my smile and look at her

“uhm, that is my Korean name” 

I told Mr. Park to put my American name on my data instead of my Korean name but he didn’t obey me, that old guy can sometimes be really annoying.

“oh by the way my name is choi sooyoung, I’m one of the staff here”

I smiled back again and ask her

“uhm, are you the one who will teach and tour me around here the office?”

she shook her “no I’m not the one assigned for that, she hasn’t arrived yet, you look like you’re in a hurry to go here” 

I nodded

“don’t worry, your still too early office hour start at 8:30a.m” she said with a smile

I almost faint, I’ve been in hurry to go here and scared of being late; I didn’t get to eat my breakfast just to go here on time

“since your still early, if you want you can stay at the employees lounge, right over there…if you walk straight from here the second to the last door to the right is the employees lounge”

I look at the direction where she pointed and look back at her again

“okay got it ms. choi, thank you” I said

“drop the formalities, you can call me sooyoung”

this time I flashed her my eye-smile

“okay, sooyoung I’ll go to the employees lounge now, bye”

“okay, I also have to go now”

I walk to where she directed me to go

Oh, here’s the employees lounge, I slowly open the door there were no employees inside.

I look around the place, it doesn’t look like any ordinary room for employees, it looks like a five star hotel lounge, it’s also complete with foods and beverages and I think everything here is free.

Since I haven’t eaten my breakfast yet, I quickly approach the big 2 door refrigerator, I open it hoping to find cookies or anything sweet

“oh here it is” I grab the cookies and also a can of coffee and then close the door

I place my food on the coffee table and sit at the chair

As I eat my breakfast, someone open the door

“tiffany?”

her voice is familiar, I think it’s sooyoung

“I’m here” I said as I finish my last cookie and drink my coffee

“the person who will show you around the office is already here, she’s waiting for you at her office, let’s go”

“okay sooyoung, thank you”

“no prob. You can leave those there; the cleaners will come and take care of it”

“okay”

“follow me”

sooyoung went out first and I followed her, she’s walking very fast, looks like she’s in a hurry but I still follow her trying to even my pace to her

we went inside the office, I can’t help but to be amaze, it’s not the ordinary office I first thought of before coming here

lost in my thoughts I didn’t notice someone is approaching me

“ouch” she said

wait her voice sounds familiar

the person I bumped into quickly left, I turned around 

blonde hair?

Could she be the girl I bumped yesterday?

The girl in my dreams last night until this morning?

I want to follow her but sooyoung already called me

“I’m coming” I said a little louder, I still can’t take my eyes off from that girl who I just bumped into a while ago.
