XIII La Mort
Red Velvet: Cursed
Death/La Mort
It is unlikely that this card actually represents a physical death. Typically it implies an end, possibly of a relationship or interest, and therefore implies an increased sense of self-awareness—not to be confused with self-consciousness or any kind of self-diminishment.
Chapter 13
La Mort
Isolation
While everyone was freaking out over Yoonhye, I couldn’t help but remember the awful things Jaejoong told me. I felt guilty for doing it, but I couldn’t help myself. It was as if someone else was making me think about it. He had to live a life as a corpse. How could someone fall in love with a corpse? I tried imagining what Jaejoong would’ve looked liked and brought myself back to reality.
I blinked and blinked again and stared at the lifeless corpse of the sweet girl. Her gluttony killed her. Just like Henry’s recklessness did cost him his life… Amber’s laziness resulted in her coma. NoEul was bitter and died before she showed her true personality. My heart skipped a beat. What would my word be? I still had to find the liar.
I bit on my lip and stared at Mr. Byun who had no idea what to do with the body, before it disappeared in front of our own eyes. Zelo screamed and grabbed Chen’s arm, who had no idea how to react to any of this. Yuri and Yong Guk stood glued against the wall and didn’t dare looking this way.
What were we supposed to do right now? We didn’t know. I tried ignoring Yesung’s hysterical screams and crawled up. My eyes shot towards the teacher and waited for him to say anything. The door opened, Jaejoong walked inside and I had to endure feelings I didn’t want to feel. He was too fascinating for words. I felt too familiar looking at him. It shouldn’t be like this.
Yesung couldn’t control himself and stormed towards Jaejoong, almost grabbing his neck. Jaejoong was faster and just stepped aside, faster than humanly possible. “Now, now there. This is not my fault.”
“What?! You’re responsible for all of this! You killed Yoonhye,” he couldn’t stop crying and fell on his knees. Yesung’s trembling hands rubbed over the cold, hard floor. He was slowly losing his mind. “We’re here because you brought us here. You filthy piece of !”
Jaejoong quickly changed. I couldn’t control myself and felt even more attracted to his cold gestures. He brought his right hand to his mouth and let out a small chuckle. His dark eyes changed, lips curled up into a smile and he slowly stepped towards the pitiful guy. “You think so?” he hissed like a snake. My heart skipped a beat. I couldn’t look at him anymore, but had to.
“You actually think I’m the person who’s to blame?” his eyes almost turned into fire. The intensity of his stare was indescribable. He chuckled again and shook his head. “Are you being comical?”
“No, you ing idiot! You killed her! You killed her with Xiumin! You two should rot in hell. I’ll kill you!” Yesung shot up and tried grabbing Jaejoong, but he simply disappeared, just like Yoonhye’s body did and reappeared behind me. I shot forward and turned around, freaking out.
Yuri screamed at Yesung and knew what was about to happen. “You idiot! You just made it worse for us! Just leave it be!”
“You really think I’m at fault? You little worm.” Jaejoong's voice changed, it grew deeper. I never knew him like this. It stirred my soul. “I think you guys should think about your mistakes alone.” That was that. Before we could blink, I found myself where I was before, when I disappeared all by myself.
I was back inside this classroom, but all alone. It was an exact copy of it. The words we wrote on the blackboard were still there. I couldn’t leave this desk. My legs were way too heavy. The w
