Chapter 10: A Match made in Jeju
Operation: Wedding SabotageChapter 10: A Match made in Jeju
Seung Hyun
The past couple of days have been the great. After Dara and I left my parents’ house it’s as if we’re still playing the role of a dating couple. It makes me wonder when I’ll wake up from this pleasant dream I’m having where Dara and I are a legit couple. I’m not complaining of course but I wonder when this happy moment will suddenly end and will I ever be able to get over it.
We’re on our way to Jeju and since we don’t want to catch people’s attention we came to the airport separately. We’re flying via private plane along with Chaerin and Soo Hyuk much to Seungri’s disappointment.
I was sitting in the VIP lounge waiting for Dara to arrive. I asked Seungri to go with her. It would have been nice if we could just go to the airport together but she suggested that I go ahead of time to avoid the prying eyes of the public. I finally saw her walking towards me. She let her hair down today. She was wearing a floral summer dress with a knitted white cardigan. She paired it with white sneakers and she looked adorably shorter.
“Why are you grinning like a crazy person?” she asked curiously as she approached me. I just shook my head and stood up. I offered my hand and she held it and smiled. It was time for us to go to the tarmac to board the plane. It was probably owned by Bom’s family. The hotel resort where the wedding is going to be held is probably theirs too. I know because we made plans to go there together once we finally have free schedule. And now I’m flying to the same place where she would in a weeks’ time be wed to someone else.
I feel guilty thinking of Bom while I have Dara with me. I know what’s with the sudden shift of priorities. I just know that Dara deserves all the attention I can give her but I kind of feel stupid knowing that I’m going to help her win back someone else? I may actually have special feelings
“I guess I don’t have to ask if you have ridden a private plane before” she asked as soon as we settled inside the plane. Is that a hint of jealousy I’m hearing from her voice.
“I travel a lot and some production teams I worked with do have private planes to transport the actors and crew much faster,” I reasoned.
“You two really look cozy together,” Soo Hyuk said as he and Chaerin arrived.
“They’re a new couple so they’re still in the lovey-dovey stage,” Dara’s blonde best friend said.
“Shut up Chae,” Dara remarked then playfully stuck her tongue out to her friend. Chaerin did the same which made everyone laugh at their antics except for Seungri who looks pissed.
He walked loudly behind them and went pass the couple and grunted an ‘excuse me’ as he made his way to his seat.
Dara couldn’t help but giggle. “Poor Seungri is jealous,” Dara whispered to me.
“I know,” I whispered back before I was engulfed in the wonderful scent of Dara’s hair. Did I mention how Dara smells really nice?
“Stop sniffing,” she demanded before she yawned. She comfortably settled her head on my shoulder. I instinctively kissed the top of her head. She must not have noticed since I didn’t get any violent reactions. She’s probably exhausted from doing all the packing. She single handedly did everything by herself insisting I needed beauty rest just in case there are cameras waiting at the airport.
Dara
The plane ride was really shorter than what I would have liked. I couldn’t help but snuggle close to Tabi. He insists that I call him that. And his sudden kiss at the top of my head was a bit of a surprise but I was too exhausted to react. As expected there is nothing more comfortable than a boyfriend’s arm as pillow. Mine’s only a pretend one but a boyfriend’s arm none the less.
I really just want to stay snuggled up to Seung Hyun but it’s already time to get off the plane. He gently poked my cheek and asked me to wake up.
“Wake up sleepy head. You can continue your sleep during the drive to the hotel,” he coaxed. I really am quite exhausted and would love a few more minutes of peace and quiet.
“Your friends have already left. What should I do to wake up a sleeping princess,” I heard him say, “Oh I know, I should use the oldest trick in the book. I shall wake you up with true love’s kiss.”
I can feel his face hovering close to mine. I suddenly opened my eyes and Seung Hyun’s face was dangerously close.
“I knew that would work. Let’s go. Seungri is probably frustrated out of his wits now since Chaerin and Soo Hyuk left ahead of us.”
I could feel my face feeling hot. Why does he have such an effect on me? He held out his hand and helped me up. He continued holding my hand until we got out of the plane. We got in the assigned car and we both sat at the backseat while Seungri drove us to the hotel. As he promised he let me continue to sleep, my head leaning comfortably against him with his arm around my shoulder.
When I woke up I was on a nice warm bed under the softest blanket.
“Sleeping beauty has finally woken up. Seung Hyun had to carry you all the way here. You guys were a sight to behold,” Chaerin teased.
“He did what? He could have woken me up,” I muttered.
“He carried you bridal style and everyone in the lobby was in awe of your pretend-boyfriend’s chivalry,” my friend recounted. “Come to think of it you two look great together. Makes me wonder if you should go through this whole wedding sabotage scheme,” she added.
“But what about the reporters? Someone could have taken a picture,” I blurted out not paying attention to her comment about me and Tabi looking good together.
“Have you already forgotten? It’s a private event remember? The whole hotel is reserved for just us wedding guests this week. Ji Yong-oppa is marrying someone really well off,” she commented.
“I need to be able to talk to Ji yong alone. At least let him know how I feel and that maybe he’s making the biggest mistake of his life by marrying someone he just met,” I reasoned out. I tried my best to convince Chaerin or am I trying convince myself. “I need to talk to him so we can sort things out between us.”
“Or maybe you should talk to him so you can sort out your own feelings for oppa and for that other someone,” she muttered. She didn’t really have to mention the name but I already know what
