It was about 12am N.Y time.... and the phone in Taeyeon's room rang.

She picked it up and heard Yesung's voice.

Taeyeon: Oppa?

Yesung: Thank god you are still awake.

Taeyeon: What's wrong?

Yesung: Can you come down to the ballroom? We need your help.

Taeyeon: Wae??

Yesung: Miya and Jihyun are drunk. Luna is the only woman here and she can't handle both of them on her own. Can you help?

Taeyeon: (sigh)... why make them drink so much? Must be you oppa!!

Yesung: Just come please.

Taeyeon: Arasso arasso...!

Taeyeon shook her head as she hung up the phone.

She knew how her oppa Yesung is like.

He is a nice oppa and all that, but he likes to make people drunk.

 

Making her way down, Taeyeon reached the dinner venue to find most of her labelmates either drunk or half asleep.

Watching the manager oppas bringing some of them out...Taeyeon shook her head.

She then finally found Luna who just stood there watching Miya and Jihyun dead drunk on the couch.

Luna: I don't think we can do this alone.

Taeyeon: (nods) We need the guys.

Luna: Yesung oppa, it's your fault that they are drunk. Please be responsible!!

Yesung came over reluctantly and together with Luna, they carried Jihyun up.

Taeyeon: Wait oppa, what about Miya? I can't handle her alone.

Yesung: Just look around for some sober man to help.

Taeyeon: wae...?
 

"Let me do it.."

A voice came by.

Yesung: Baekhyun....? Aren't you drunk yourself?

Baekhyun: (smile) I'm not. I told you I'm a good drinker.

Yesung: Cool... then I'll leave Taeyeon and Miya to you. (smile)

Taeyeon: (interrupts) Wait oppa.

Yesung: Ahh Jihyun is heavy. We'll make a move first.

Yesung and Luna moved on with Jihyun.....

leaving behind just Baekhyun and Taeyeon with semi-conscious Miya.
 

Baekhyun walks over to Miya and look at Taeyeon who is still standing there.

Baekhyun: Hey, I need some help here.

Taeyeon: (recovered from daze and walk over to him reluctantly)

Both of them carried Miya up and bring her out of the ballroom.

On the way, other than screaming noises coming from drunken Miya, there isn't a word between them.

A few times, Baekhyun wanted to say something but he couldn't find a right chance.

They entered the lift.

In the lift, Miya detached her hands from Taeyeon's and allow herself fall onto Baekhyun.

Baekhyun reacted by wrapping around Miya to prevent her from falling....

while Miya took the chance to hug onto Baekhyun tightly.

Seeing them clinching onto each other, Taeyeon awkwardly look away .

The air in the lift instantly becomes stale.

Baekhyun: (breaking the silence with miya in his arms) Erm... that was a great concert. 

Taeyeon: Deh. (nods briefly while trying hard not to look at them) 

Baekhyun: Why didn't you join us for the dinner? 

Taeyeon: I wanted to rest.

Baekhyun: ...rest... you not feeling well?

Taeyeon: It's just the jet lag thing...

Baekhyun: I see... 

The lift finally reaches 32th floor and ends their awkward conversation.

Taeyeon leads Baekhyun to Miya's room, which is just two rooms away from hers.

Reaching the doorstep....

Taeyeon: I think you don't need me here anymore. Take good care of her.

Baekhyun: ...wait.

Taeyeon: ...

Baekhyun: How am I going to handle her alone? Look at her.....At least you stay and help her to bed. I'm a guy afterall. It's not convenient.

Taeyeon: Not convenient? But you and her...

Before Taeyeon can finish the sentence, a vomit sound startled the both of them.

Miya threw up.

And she threw up everything onto Baekhyun.....

Baekhyun waited outside while Taeyeon helped to clean up and put Miya to bed.

After she is done, she walked out from the room and found Baekhyun pathetically cleaning the mess on himself.

Baekhyun: (saw tae coming out) ... she's asleep?

Taeyeon: (nods) Deh.

Baekhyun: ... (nods slightly)

Taeyeon: (points to his shirt) Go back to your room and clean up. It's a mess.

Baekhyun:  ....erh...

No, he can't just return to his room yet.

He has been searching for her the whole day and he finally found her.

He can't bring himself to leave just like that.

But looking at the mess... he can't possibly talk to her with those vomits on him. It's gross.

Watching her leave, Baekhyun sighed and turn to walk back to the lift.
 

But Taeyeon stopped after a few steps and turned around.

She hesitated for a moment.

Taeyeon: Come to my room first.

Baekhyun: (turn around)...huh?

Taeyeon: At least clean yourself up abit. It's not nice for you to walk around like that.

A little smile appeared on his face.

Baekhyun took the advice and followed her to the room.

Taeyeon offered him a seat before she kept herself busy in the bathroom.

Baekhyun sat down and look around her room, feeling a little awkward.

Shortly, Taeyeon returned and offered him a hot towel.

 Baekhyun: Komawoyo.

Taeyeon: Clean your face with the towel first. You must have drank alot too. The towel will help you stay awake.

Right, Baekhyun needs the hot towel.

He needs to stay awake.

Though he can hold his liqour well, the jet lag and tiredness is just not helping.

He does feel a little tipsy on his way up to the rooms.

Looking at the mess on Baekhyun's shirt, Taeyeon got an idea.

She walked over to her baggage across the room.

Taeyeon: (across the room) Take that off.

Baekhyun: ....what?

Taeyeon: Your shirt.

Baekhyun: (look down at his messed-up shirt)

Taeyeon: I will find something for you to wear for the time being.

Baekhyun do as per intructed, he removed his dirty clothes.   

While Taeyeon search her baggage for something that can fit Baekhyun.

Luckily, most of her clothes are loose-fitting so she manage to find one easily.

Turning around, Taeyeon felt a sudden blush on her face.

Across the room, Baekhyun is sitting there without his shirt on.

For a moment, she regretted for inviting him in....

For a second, she regretted for asking him to take off his shirt...

Clearing the thoughts, Taeyeon tried to bring her blush down before anyone notices it.

Baekhyun look over and saw Taeyeon standing there in daze

....thinking she might need help, he stood up and walk over.

Taeyeon: (awkwardly look away) Take this.

She passed the shirt to him with her eyes looking away.

Noticed Taeyeon is uncomfortable with him half , Baekhyun quickly put it on.

The two just awkwardly stood there.

It feels weird for Baekhyun too. 

Though he has been wanting to have a chance to be alone with her,

this is certainly more than what he has prepared himself for ..... to be alone with her in a hotel room.

It gave him jitters; especially to have a shirt with her scent on him now.

 

Baekhyun: Erh thanks.... it fits well.

Taeyeon: (smile a little) You look cute in it. You can consider keeping it for yourself.

Baekhyun: (laughs) 

It has been a while since they talk like this.

Baekhyun is glad to see her smile to him again..... especially after what he did to her that night.

The thought of that brings the reality back.

Baekhyun: (look down apologetically) I'm sorry.

Taeyeon: ...

Baekhyun: I'm sorry for being rude to you at the party that night. 

Taeyeon: (bit her lips) Forget about it. You had too much drink that night. Just watch yourself and don't get into trouble again.

Baekhyun: (nods) It's so foolish of me. Is it because I'm so stupid that I couldn't tell between facts and lies? Or it's just that Heaven likes to play jokes on me?

Taeyeon brows furrowed.

She has no clue what is he talking about.

Baekhyun: I have been chasing for one thing these two days. From Korea, all the way to New York. But it seems like Heaven just wouldn't stop playing games with me. The more I yearn for it, the more I will miss it. It was like this 3 years ago. It was like this 6 months ago. And it's the same now... Then whenever I was about to give up and stop yearning, he gave me hope again.

Saying that, Baekhyun lifts his head and look at Taeyeon who's standing in front of him.

Taeyeon noticed his stare but she avoided it..

Taeyeon: Erm, it's late. You should g....

Baekhyun: I know everything.

Taeyeon: (straighten herself a little) ....what everything?

Baekhyun: Don't pretend anymore. Jonghyun sunbae told me everything. Both of you never dated at all. You rejected him long ago. Everything else was just articles from the media. And there was S.M....

Taeyeon: Stop it, Baekh...

Baekhyun: (cuts her off) Let me finish. It was S.M right? They got the pictures of us together and S.M got to know it. To protect my career, you promised Daepyo-isa to stay away from me. That's why you wanted Jonghyun sunbae to say those things to me so I will withdraw from you. (look at Taeyeon)

Taeyeon: (look away) It doesn't matter anymore.

Baekhyun: (step closer) Of course it matters. Because that will mean whatever you said to me was nothing but lies. Lies to make me leave you. The truth is you weren't using me. You weren't using my feelings at all. You didn't come to me because you were lonely. All that matters to me. It still matters to me now!!

Taeyeon: (closed her eyes) 

Baekhyun: I'm the foolish one. I was the one who believed everything and ended up hurting you!!

Taeyeon shook her head and walked up to the door.

She opened it.

Taeyeon: Please leave now. 

Baekhyun: .....

Baekhyun stepped forward.

She looked away.

Instead of complying to her wish, Baekhyun raised his arm and close the door behind her.

........Taeyeon is trapped between the closed door and him.
