CHAPTER 7: (Yonghwa’s POV)
            “So, what do you say huh? Seohyun?” I said as I smirked

            She didn’t gesture anything she just stared at me; she seems to be thinking of something. After a couple of minutes she finally nodded. I smirked once again as I stood up, I went to my closet and got a vial of potion of some sort; this is basically Seohyun’s memory, I stole this from the guards when they are throwing it away. I approached her and gave her the vial.

            “Ya, here it is…” I said as I handed her the potion

            She got it and then she slowly stared at it; she looked up and gave me a questioned look.

            “It’s not a poison or anything, so it’s safe to drink” I smiled

            Still she looked at me. Then slowly, she finished the whole vial.

            “So, how does it feel?” I asked

            I saw her expression that time; she held as she released the vial, she started fidgeting and her breathing is heavy; slowly, she squirmed on the floor and when the potion finally subsided, she fainted. I placed Seohyun’s head on my lap and there I waited for her to wake up. After a couple of minutes Seohyun snapped her eyes open as she quickly stood up; she looked at me, each stare with its questioned look. She walked farther from me, she held her head and then slowly she looked around.

            “Ya, Seohyun…” I started as I stood up

            She turned to me.

            “So how does it feel?” I asked as I traced her face with my fingers

            “…”

            “What? Still can’t speak or is it that you don’t know how to talk anymore?” I smirked

            “Y-Yonghwa…” Seohyun said

            “Finally…” I said as I gave her a hug

            “W-What happened?” She asked

            “You don’t know?” I asked

            She pulled herself from me then she shook her head.

            “Let me explain…” I said

(Yonghwa’s POV)

            I picked up some roses from a bush on my home; I smelled them as I remembered my most beloved. I’m actually courting her so roses is a must; but it’s not gonna be easy; Guardian angels and angels of death doesn’t really suit each others company. Angels of death is born with a duty within and it is to fetch people’s soul and bring it to its rightful place which is in heaven or hell and Guardian angels on the other hand needs to protect the people assigned to them for the rest of their life. So yeah, we are total opposites so it’s gonna be hard for me if I’m aiming to make her say ‘yes’, but I’m not gonna give up that easily, I swore that I’m gonna make her fall for me no matter what.

            “There she is…my angel” I thought as I saw Joo hyun (Seohyun’s angel name); my beloved. Sitting at the edge of a fountain near the palace of the gods

            I flew closer as I saw her all alone in that place.

            “Ya! Joo hyun!” I yelled to get her attention

            “Oh, Yonghwa…” She said as she smiled

            “Here…flowers for you” I said as I handed her the roses

            “Why thank you…” she answered as she got the flowers

            “So am I close to that sweet ‘yes’ of yours?” I asked as I sat beside her

            She only chuckled after my sentence.

            “Why are you laughing? I’m serious about you” I pouted

            “Yes I know that Yonghwa…but haven’t I told you before that I already have someone that I love?” She replied

            “But haven’t I also told you before that I’m not gonna give up?” I smiled

            She chuckled. I love her when she does that.

            “Actually, I’m a little curious about that man of yours…what is he like?” I asked

            “Tss…what a weird question Yonghwa…don’t you have work today?” She asked as she flashed a smile

            “Nope. No dead spirits to bring in to heaven or hell today…but don’t change the topic…who is he?” I said

            “Well…” Joo hyun started

            “Well?” I asked

            “All right…but just keep it between us…” Joo hyun said

            “I promise…” I smiled

            “The truth is…I’m in love with the person I’m protecting…” She blushed

            “B-Bwoh?? You mean…you're in love with a mortal??” I asked

            She nodded.

            “B-But that’s against the rules Joo hyun! God will know that even if you’ll try to hide it…you’ll be punished because of that!” I said

            “That’s why we’ll just keep this between us…” She smiled

            “Oh my…I just can’t resist that smile of hers…it’s totally melting me off…” I thought

            “Yonghwa! Chief is calling you…” Taeyon; the messenger angel, called

            “O-Okay!” I replied “I gotta go Joo hyun…see you later!”

            She smiled and then she waved.

            As I met up with the chief he handed me my next mission.

            “Here it is Yonghwa…your next mission…” the chief said as he started reading the papers “Name: Lee Donghae, Cause of Death: Car accident because of drunkenness, Exact time of death: 10:00 pm”

            “Understood…” I said as I took off

            On my way to fetch the next soul I saw Joo hyun still sitting at the fountains edge. I still got some time so I decided to approach her.

            “Ya, Joo hyun” I said

            “Oh, Yonghwa. Don’t you have work right now?” she asked

            “It’s no biggie I still got some time so I decided to accompany you for a while…” I replied

            “Oh really? Thanks…so what is your mission today?” she asked

            “It’s about an accident of a drunken man…” I replied as I scratched my head

            “Hmmm…what’s his name?” she asked

            “Lee Donghae? Is it?” I replied

            “L-Lee Donghae?” She asked; terror is within her eyes

            “Y-Yeah…why?” I asked

            “Y-Yonghwa…D-Don’t let it happen…” Joo hyun pleaded

            “Waeyo? It’s a mission…I can’t stop it from happening…W-Wait a minute…” I said “He’s the one that you're protecting? He’s the one that you love?”

            She nodded. I was taken a back as I knew this.

            “Please…Yonghwa…don’t let it happen…” Joo hyun pleaded

            I stared at her for a second and then I started to head on for my location. If he will die, no one can take us apart. As I arrived at my location I saw the drunken man staggering on his way home. I crossed my arms as I saw his face; he’s not as handsome as me so why does Joo hyun picked him? It’s almost time for this man’s death, I started my spell for the cars sudden lost of control; I saw the car nearby, I aimed at the car but suddenly some one pushed my arm away.

            “H-Hey!” I said as I turned around “J-Joo hyun?”

            “Y-Yonghwa…don’t do this…” she said

            “J-Joo hyun…you’ll get punished if you do this…go home!” I said as I tried to push her away

            “No Yonghwa! I-I can’t!” she replied

            Suddenly the sound of lightning was heard from afar.

            “J-Joo hyun! It’s the gods! They’re gonna punish you! Go home!” I said

            She didn’t talk anymore. Suddenly a bolt of lightning struck Joo hyun.

            “Ahhhhhhhhhhh!” Joo hyun screamed

            “Joo hyun!” I said

            After the lightning Joo hyun fell on the street; her wings are gone, there were lots of wounds on her skin and her clothes has all been torn. I flew closer to her as I picked her up.

            “J-Joo hyun…” I said as I gave her a hug

            I carried her and slowly I walked to Donghae’s house. I saw the drunken man already close to where I am so I placed Joo hyun in front of his gate. I gave her a kiss on the cheek as I flew away. I decided to guard Joo hyun until I got he rback so I changed Donghae’s memory a bit; so for Donghae, I am his neighbour; Jung Yonghwa, 21 years old and a total couch potato. That’s what I am to him ever since.
