I covered my mouth with a soft hand towel as I coughed hard. I wasn’t feeling very good today, but I kept on chatting on the phone with my dongsaeng, Kaera. We didn’t get to talk that much anymore after her wedding with Yunho-oppa.
I managed to smile even when I wasn’t feeling good. I’ve always loved keeping in touch with her. My dear dongsaeng, she makes me smile. We’re not blood related, but we act like that anyway. My dongsaeng doesn’t have unnies or oppas at home. She’s the eldest in her family that’s why she always turns to me. On the other hand, I’m the maknae in our family. So, I don’t have a dongsaeng of my own to take care of. We can relate very well with each other. It’s like I’m her elder sister already.
”Omo, Unnie, are you okay?” She asked over the phone in a worried tone.
”It’s just a cough. There’s no need to worry…” I said in a hoarse voice. My throat was hurting pretty badly and my head was kind of spinning, but I decided to ignore it anyway.
”You should rest, Unnie. Is Changmin-oppa there? Is he taking care of you?” She bombarded me with so many questions that made my head spin some more.
”Changmin-oppa went with Junsu-oppa and their other friends to play soccer today.” I replied in between my coughs.
”Eh? You’re hubby just left you like that even though he knows you’re sick? He didn’t even bother to take care of you?!” She gasped. “I’ll tell Yunho-oppa about this so he can lecture him when he has time.”
”Yah! Please don’t tell.” I begged. “I don’t want Yunho-oppa to get mad at my Cookie Monster…”
”What? My dongsaeng is sick and Minnie isn’t taking care of her?!” I heard Yunho-oppa asking Keira. He’s such an eavesdropper. ”Give me the phone and let me talk to her.”
”Yah! Oppa! I’m still talking to her!” Kaera shouted.
”Yah! Ri Ah is my sister-in-law and this concerns me too!” I smiled as I listened to the couple’s bickering over the phone.
”Er oppa, I hate you!” My dongsaeng shouted in defeat. I heard a loud stomp, which I assumed was made by Kaera as I listened to their cute fight. I couldn’t help but giggle.
”I love you too, Chagiya!” Yunho-oppa said before talking to me. “Yah, Ri Ah! Are you alright?”
”I’m fine oppa.” I replied or sort of croaked rather. My voice sounded different because of the dry cough and severe cold.
”Well, you don’t sound fine to, me dongsaengie.” He said in a serious tone. ‘You should rest. Have you taken your medicine?”
”I took my medicine already, oppa.” I said. “Changmin-oppa will come home soon. I’ll be alright. There’s no need to worry.”
”Go back to bed Ri Ah. You can talk with Kae next time when you get well.” He ordered.
”Oh fine.” I whined liked a kid. “Kill Joy…” I muttered.
”Yah! I heard that! You’re disobeying me now, Eh?” He scolded me as if I was his daughter or something. I giggled at Yunho-oppa’s action.
”I was just kidding, oppa.” I chuckled. “Are you like this with Kaera too? Omo, my poor dongsaeng.”
”Ri Ah you’re evil. I knew Changminie was such a bad influence to you. You inherited his evil actions as a maknae and dongsaeng.” He complained. “Rest now okay. Tell Changmin that he’ll get a lecture from me and Jaejoong when we see him again.”
’Uh-oh…’
”Oppa, is it really necessary? You won’t be harsh on him, right?” I asked nervously. Yunho-oppa and Jaejoong-oppa’s lectures. Those were things that my husband can’t stand. Poor him…
”It depends on our mood. Just pray for his safety.”
”Oppa~~ don’t be like that…” I begged. “Please.”
”Alright. Anything for my dongsaeng. You’re such a sweet wife to him. I’ll hung up now okay? So you can rest.”
”Okay. Thanks for everything, oppa. Oh and tell Kae that I’ll make it up to her.”
”I will. Bye!’
”Good bye…” And with that I put the phone down and obeyed what Yunho-oppa and Keira advised. I went to my room to get some rest, when all of a sudden I remembered that Changmin-oppa must be waiting for me. I went downstairs with my pillow, blanket and the cookie monster stuffed toy that Changmin-oppa gave me on our very first wedding anniversary.
I lay down on the couch and hugged the stuffed toy and went to sleep. The couch wasn’t very comfortable, but I had to sleep there because I really want to wait for Changmin-oppa. Besides, If I sleep in our room, there were chances that I won’t here him knock. I don’t think he has a duplicate key to enter our house. So, I decided to sleep there, until Changmin-oppa comes home.
My eyes slowly opened when I felt someone hold me in his arms. I woke up to see Changmin-oppa carrying me.
”Oppa…” I said in my hoarse voice.
”Shhh… Go back to sleep, Chagiya. You’re sick.” He suggested in his sweet voice. I wrapped my arms around his neck and cuddled closer to him.
“Omo. Oppa, how did you get in?” I asked.
”I had a duplicate key made, remember?” He replied with a smile as he placed me on the bed and wrapped a comforter around me to keep me warm. “What were you thinking, sleeping on the couch? Hmm? It’s not comfortable there.”
I smiled at his thoughtfulness. “I thought you didn’t have a duplicate key. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to hear you knocking at our door and You’ll wait outside while I sleep soundly in our room.”
”Aish… You didn’t have to do that. Even if I don’t have a duplicate key, I can still manage. You should take care of yourself. You’re sick.” He told me as he caressed my cheek and then gave me a kiss on the forehead.
”I’ll go get you some medicine. Wait here.” He said as he left my room. He came back with a glass of water in his hand and a capsule. I sat up and got the glass of water from him and drank the medicine. I lay down and he my hair lovingly.
”Get some rest okay?”
I nodded my head in reply. He was about to leave when I pulled his hand and pouted.
”Oppa, stay here. Don’t leave me. Please.” I said like a little child afraid of the boogey man that may come from under the bed.
”My wife is so cute~” He cooed as he pinched my cheeks.” Alright. I’ll stay here and watch over you.”
He went to the other side of the bed to lie down beside me. I snuggled closer to his chest and embraced him tight and he returned the embrace.
”Oppa, sing me a lullaby, jebahl…” I requested like a little girl.

And with that I drifted to sleep in his loving arms.
I woke up with Changmi-oppa sitting by the side of the bed.I looked at him and he had a basin with cold water and towel soaked in it. He took the cold wet cloth and squeezed the excess water out and placed the cold, damp cloth on my fore head.
”I see you’re awake.” He said. “Let’s take a look at your temperature.”
He held out a thermometer in his hand and shook it a little.
”Raise your arms up.” He ordered. He placed the thermometer under my armpit and I giggled at the ticklish feeling. Changmin-oppa couldn’t help but chuckle.
Later on he took out the thermometer and said that my temperature wasn’t so high anymore, but still suggested for me to rest. I obeyed him and smiled. Changmin-oppa is such a caring husband. He’s so cute and he’s doing a job in taking care of me.
The door bell rang and Changmin-oppa left to see who the visitor was. He later on came back with Jaejoong-oppa, Junsu-oppa, Yoochun-oppa, Yunho-oppa and Kaera-ah.
”Unnie!” Kaera exclaimed as she hugged me tight. “Are you alright? Is Changmin-oppa taking care of you?”
”He is. He’s doing such a good job.” I replied with a smile I looked at Changmin-oppa and his cheeks were red and she was smiling shyly. Omo… So cute.
”Well, I guess, that should save him from getting another lecture from me and Yunho. I guess, we’ll make an exemption, since he seems to be really taking care of you.” Jaejoong oppa said. “By the way I cooked soup, for you.” He placed a casserole of soup on my side table.
”And we brought you fruits…” Kaera said as she and Yunho-oppa set a basket of fruits on my side table.
”Kamsamnida, everyone.” I said with a smile.
”Ri Ah, I’m sorry if I had to take Changmin-ah from you. I didn’t know that you were sick. I’m really sorry. If I knew that you were, I would have cancelled it or move our game some other time. I’m really sorry.” Junsu-oppa said in he’s cute voice as he hung his head low.
”Aigoo~ Jun su-oppa you’re so cute!” I said as I pinched his cheeks. I saw Changmin-oppa frown a bit when I called my dolphin oppa cute. ‘Jealous?’ I thought as I saw his expression. “You don’t have to be sorry. I was fine. Besides, you and Changmin-oppa have been planning to play soccer together for a long time.
”You’re so understanding Ri Ah. Changmin-ah is so lucky to have an understanding wifey like you.” Yoochun-oppa cooed.
“Well, we’ll go now to let you get some rest. Eat those fruits and my soup okay?” Jaejoong-oppa reminded.
”Alright.”
”We’ll see you some time, okay? Get well soon!” Yoochun-oppa said before leaving.

The next day, I woke up with Changmin-oppa sitting by my side of our bed. He was holding a thermometer in his hand.
”You’re awake, now.” He said with as smile as he my hair. “Let’s take your temperature.”
He placed the thermometer under my armpit again and took my temperature.
”You’re fever is gone, Chagiya!” Changmin-oppa said as he smiled.
”Of course. Changmin-oppa is a very good doctor.” I told him as I sat up straight to give him a hug. I was about to kiss him when he covered his mouth with his hand and…
”Achoo!” He sneezed. I looked at him and his cheeks were a bit red. I touched his forehead and it was hot.
”Omo, looks like my doctor is getting sick.” I said in a worried tone. ”I guess, you’ll be the patient now and I’ll be the doctor.”
”But… I’m fine!” He protested like a child.
“Yah! No buts! You’ll rest here and I’ll take care of you, arasso?” I ordered as I pushed him to the bed so he’d lie down. I gave him as sweet kiss and went to the kitchen to prepare soup for him.

Sorry for the late update. I’ve been busy with summer martial arts training.
Anyway, this story is actually dedicated to my mariangel-unnie. She was sick a few days ago and she kept on chatting with me on fb instead of resting. I kinda got the idea of this story from her. So, this update is really dedicated to her.
