Finally Sunny’s big day had arrived. Sooyoung sat up from where she lay and rubbed at her eyes sleepily before she pulled out her phone to see that it was only 6am. The girls had pretty much spent the rest of the week at her house finishing off the final preparations. As Sooyoung scanned her living room it seemed the rest of the girls were still in a deep slumber. The brunette couldn’t help but try to stifle her giggles when she caught sight of Taeyeon sprawled on top of Hyoyeon and Yoona, Taeyeon seriously could not tell the difference from a bed and a person.  Not wanting to disturb their sleep, Sooyoung quietly made her way towards her room to wash up before making some breakfast.

After the brunette had washed up she quickly threw on a pair of sweatpants and a shirt before heading towards the kitchen. The girls were still sleeping so Sooyoung tried her best to make the least amount of noise as she cooked.

Hyoyeon stirred in her sleep but found that she could barely move or breathe, a bit startled by this her eyes flew open only to find Taeyeon lying on top of her and Yoona. Hyoyeon seriously did not know what to do with this girl anymore, so being the subtle person she was Hyoyeon manoeuvred herself into a half sitting half lying position before gently rolling Taeyeon off of herself and Yoona. Taeyeon groaned as she came into contact with the floor.

”Owww…who rolled me off the bed?” Taeyeon asked with her eyes still closed.

“Well your bed… pushed you off because she couldn’t breathe” Hyoyeon huffed with a sarcastic tone, only to be ignored by a mumbling Taeyeon who was now fast asleep again. Hyoyeon could only sigh in defeat before heading towards the kitchen.

From what Hyoyeon could see Sooyoung had her earphones plugged in and she was leaning on the kitchen island with her back faced to the entrance humming along to what sounded like Infinites’ ‘Can you smile’. Moving stealthily towards her Hyoyeon smirked before placing her head near Sooyoung’s shoulder, she took in a deep breath and yelled “SOOYOUNG LOVES MYUNG OPPA!!!!!!”

Sooyoung let out a shriek before losing her balance and landing flat on her bottom with a thud.

“YAHHHHH~~~!!!” Sooyoung whined “You scared me!!”

“Mi-an-hhe” Hyoyeon giggled “Your face was priceless”

“It’s not funny” Sooyoung pouted before standing and dusting herself off.

“Mianhe” Hyoyeon apologised again “but seriously I think you should make your move on Myung Oppa tonight before someone else does”

Sooyoung only blushed in response before shaking her head in disagreement. “He doesn’t like me” the brunette said before turning her back on Hyoyeon and continuing her cooking.
“He doesn’t like you???!!” Hyoyeon said almost hysterically “Haven’t you seen the way he stares at you?” Hyoyeon continued “It’s like he’s an adorably lost puppy trying to catch its owner’s attention”

Sooyoung only laughed in response “When you put it that way, it doesn’t seem romantic”

Hyoyeon couldn’t help but giggle in agreement. “Ok, so maybe that was a bad example but seriously Youngie you should consider what I’m saying.”

“Yahhh-Why are you so interested in my love life all of a sudden?” Sooyoung smiled playfully “I’d say the same for you and Kiseop Oppa”

With only a few hours left till the arrival of their guests the girls finished up some final touches on decorations and snacks before they all headed up to Sooyoung’s room to prepare themselves.

“Wow!! You both look gorgeous!!”Yoona and Seohyun exclaimed as Jessica and Tiffany stepped out of Sooyoung’s walk-in closet.

‘Thank you!!” the two chorused. Jessica had on a pale pink strapless that stopped just above her knees, while Tiffany also wore a pink dress of a slightly darker shade with a cocktail like design that hugged her figure. “You two look super cute!!” Jessica added happily.

Yoona had on a beige dress that stopped just below her mid-thigh with a thin navy blue belt around her waist. While Seohyun had tugged on a short navy blue dress and curled her hair to one side.

The girls turned when Sunny and Taeyeon suddenly burst through the doors to Sooyoung’s room. They seemed like they had finished dressing as Sunny now wore a peach one strap dress that hugged her perfectly, and Taeyeon wore a short pale blue dress.

“Is something wrong eonnie?” Seohyun asked her puffing eonnies

“No, but Sooyoung’s not listening to my request and it’s my birthday” Sunny whined

“What is it this time?” Jessica asked, knowing Sooyoung often changed her mind on things when it was close to an event.

“She wants to wear that hideous dress her dad bought her…”

”no offence” Taeyeon added

“Yes, no offence” Sunny continued “And she won’t wear the one we all went and bought this week” Sunny groaned.

The girls could only face palm, as they knew the exact dress the girls were talking about.  It had been a gift from Sooyoung’s dad, but in all honesty the girls knew of Sooyoung’s dad having no fashion sense and it was a wonder to them how Sooyoung had survived before they became her friends.

As the girls piled into Sooyoung’s other room they found Yuri in a sleek black dress standing by the mirror while a helpless Hyoyeon who seemed to have dressed in a gorgeous grey dress was trying to unsuccessfully pull the dress away from Sooyoung.

“Yahhhhh! Choi Sumer!!!” Jessica yelled to get her attention. “Why won’t you listen to Sunny?”

“But Sica!!” Sooyoung started

“No buts!! It’s her birthday and what she says goes...Arraso?” Jessica said patting the brunette’s back before gently tugging the hideous dress away from her. The thing seemed to look more hideous than before Jessica thought looking at the pile of fluff she now held, it was a nice light aqua colour but seriously Jessica could clearly see that the designer of this dress had an obsession with frills and puffiness.

“Here put this on” Sunny said walking up to the brunette and handing her the dress they had bought that week.

Sooyoung only sighed before taking the dress and walking into her bathroom to slip it on. When the brunette stepped out of the bathroom she tugged at the hem of the dress which stopped just below her mid-thigh wishing it was a bit longer. The girls could only let out little gasps of shock.

“What??!!...I told you I didn’t want to wear this” Sooyoung groaned before turning around again. “I’m going to go and change. Give me my dress back” she pouted.

“Ani. Ani. The dress, your figure… Eonnie your legs!!” Seohyun exclaimed.

“Just Wow Youngie that dress really shows of your long legs!” Sunny smiled happily.

 “Just make sure you don’t steal all the attention, its Sunny’s birthday” Yuri interjected before the girls burst into fits of giggles.

The party was in full swing with live music being performed by Infinite. Sooyoung who sat on one of the side sofas stole a few glances at Myungsoo on stage before sighing.

“You know ever since they went on stage you’ve been sighing a lot” a voice spoke up by Sooyoung’s ear.

The brunette was startled and leant back a bit too far feeling herself fall backwards she closed her eyes waiting for the cold floor to hit her back. Instead she felt a warm hand catch her back before that same voice spoke again.

“Woah...Careful now you don’t want to hurt yourself.”

Sooyoung opened her eyes and found herself mere inches away from Kai’s face. The brunette blushed slightly before letting out a light cough and managing to sit herself properly on the sofa again.

“Thanks” she mumbled.

“Don’t mention it… I’ll see you round” Kai smiled before heading off to the rest of his boys.

“Woah what was that about?” Yoona giggled while taking a seat next to Sooyoung.

“Nothing” Sooyoung mumbled “I just lost my balance and he caught me, end of story?”

“Fine” Yoona sighed “But what about Myung Oppa? I thought your eyes were set on him?” Yoona asked teasingly.

“Shhhhh” Sooyoung panicked covering Yoona’s mouth. “Someone could hear you”

“Oaayyy ooaayy aah me whiieett” Yoona muffled.

“Huh? Oh sorry” Sooyoung said removing her hand.

“I said…Ok I’ll be quiet.” Yoona rephrased “And look Myung Oppa’s coming this way” Yoona said pointing to her left. “Bye” she giggled before leaving the dumbfounded brunette on the sofa alone.

“Yoonaaa!!” Sooyoung called out.

“I cant heeeaarr youuu” Yoona continued walking, ignoring the brunette.

“H-hi” Myungsoo started.

Sooyoung faced him shyly. “H-hi” she waved.

Myungsoo sat next to the brunette and gave her a shy smile. “I dont know how to say this" he started before looking at the brunette."Sooyoung… I’ve been wanting to tell you something for a long time.”

“Yeah Oppa?”

“W-will. Wiil you..”

“CHOI SOOYOUNG!!!” Sunny bellowed into the microphone. “Get your on the stage we’re about to blow the birthday cake” Sunny laughed.

Sooyoung’s cheeks burned up as everyone’s eyes turned towards her. “I’m sorry Myung Oppa… I have to go. You can tell me tonight at the sleepover right?”

“Y-Yeah” Myungsoo nodded before gesturing for her to go.

When the party had finally finished and everyone who wasn’t attending the sleepover had left, the girls and the others gathered in Sooyoung’s living room.

“Does anyone need directions to my house?” Sunny asked the gathered group.

“We’re fine” Luhan answered on their behalf.

“Same here” Hoya answered.

“Everyone else is fine too” Yuri put in. “They’ve been to your place” she smiled.

“Okay” Sunny finished “I’m guessing everyone’s probably heading home to gather their things and we’ll meet at my place” Sunny smiled. “See you guys there!!”

Everyone parted ways before the girls did some minor cleaning.

“Youngie-ah” Taeyeon spoke “We’re going to go home to get some clothes and stuff and you alright on your own?”

“Yeah, don’t worry about me, I’ve got a key to Sunny’s place anyway so I might drive there after I pack” Sooyoung answered.

“Okay, we’re off then” Taeyeon called as the girls left Sooyoung’s house.

“Yeah, I’ll see you guys there”

Sooyoung waved the girls goodbye before locking her house and heading upstairs to shower, change and pack her things. The brunette couldn’t help but remember her encounters with both Kai and Myungsoo. Why did Kai talk to her all of a sudden? And more importantly, What did Myung  Oppa want to tell her? The brunette could only wonder and wait to see what happened later on tonight.
