It was one of their rare opportunities, when the couple has time to go out with each other. Having such busy work lives, they try to keep up with each other with their lengthy e-mails and some calls. Though it was never enough, for now, both Jieun and Kai cherished their communication.
It was almost ten in the evening when Jieun heard her doorbell ring. In an ordinary day she would be rushing outside to answer her door, but after almost a day long photoshoot, she couldn’t muster up enough energy to do so. Shifting in her bed, she pulled a pillow, and tried to ignore the sound. But her doorbell went on, and in her head she had already killed the stranger twenty times. Groggily, she hoisted herself up, and wobbled towards her living room to answer her door.
Turning the knob, she had to yawn, and closed her eyes. “What is it?”
“Hey there y,” a familiar deep voice said, which made all of her neurons be alarmed by the stranger. In a matter of seconds her eyes grew wide as she stared at her boyfriend who was leaning against her door frame, with two of his buttons open, hair up, and his sensual smirk plastered on his face.
“Jo..Jongin-ah,” she whispered astonishingly as she slowly approached him, but she let out a small scream as Jongin pulled her waist, quickly landing her into his chest.
“Mmmmm,” he smelled the familiar vanilla scent of her hair, savoring every part of her. “I miss this,” Jongin whispered. “Especially this,” he paused as his thumb traced the side of her jaw and seizing her bottom lip. He leaned in closer and placed a small kiss on her lips, and without any hesitation Jieun went in closer to make their reunion even longer.
As they pulled away from each other, Jieun managed to compose herself quickly as she held him more. “I miss you too,” she answered back. “I badly did.”
He chuckled softly, “That I obviously know.” Then he pulled her in to the living room. “Come, I brought you dinner. I called your office this morning and they told you had a shoot out of town,” he said, as they settled on her couch. Taking out the contents of the bag, Jieun’s eyes brightened as she stared at the three delectable red velvet cupcakes in front of her. Pleased at her reaction, he told her, “And being the good boyfriend I am, I know you need a cupcake fix.”
Jieun smiled, deeply moved by the thoughtfulness Jongin was showing her. Leaning against his shoulder, she took a cupcake and said, “First you’re surprising me, now cupcakes, who knew after all these years you still have tricks like this Kkamjjong,” she .
Smiling widely, he could only say, “Anything for my Jjakji.”
They shared their dinner, while telling stories about the recent experiences they had on their jobs. It was a special month for Jieun’s company, since it’s their magazines anniversary, and as usual the magazine had to be nothing but grand and extraordinary. They even had to have some exclusive interview of Kim SooHyun who was on the top of the entertainment industry. Just like her, it’s also Kai’s important month, since it’s been four years since he joined the modeling industry, and this year he was invited by Calvin Klein to model for them. He had photoshoots in Italy and even had to walk at the Milan Fashion Week.
Jieun was doing the dishes when Jongin pulled a blanket outside her porch and decided to lie outside. Unaware by his actions, Jieun wondered where he went as she put the last of her plates. “Jongin?” She called him out as she walked passed her living room. No sign of the man, she slid her glass door, and saw him lying on her blanket, oddly focusing towards the sky.
“Jongin,” she said, and her boyfriend quickly looked at her, answering him with a small smile. He patted the empty space next to him, asking her to lie next to him. Quickly she complied, “Why are you here?”
His hand searched for hers, and quickly they intertwined. “It’s a nice night out, I thought maybe we could do this,” he answered. He pulled his hand out, and wrapped it around her shoulders and he tugged her on his chest. “I’ve missed you terribly, if I could’ve just ran away to Italy with you, I could’ve done it in a heartbeat,” he said.
Moved by his words, Jieun hugged him closer, remembering the times when she was longing for him. “I’ve missed you too,” she answered. “I’ve missed those random visits you make after your late night shoots.”
“Hmmm,” he smir
