Lee Donghae was a happy 10 year old boy, who went to visit his ill father every day until one day he meets a girl named Jessica Jung who was 2 years younger and was also ill. They became best friends that day and every day after visiting his father, Donghae would also visit Jessica. Until one day when Donghae went to go visit Jessica, she wasn’t in her room. He asked the nurse where she was but the nurse told him she passed away. But what he didn’t know was Jessica told the nurse to tell him she died because she was being sent to an American hospital to get treated. Many years past and Donghae was now 25 but he always visited Jessica’s room on her “death” anniversary also the nurses knew why he visited on that day. One day when he was visiting he saw a girl who looked around the same age as him sitting on the bed, she turned to him and gave a bright smile.

Our Promise Poem

I was a kid running through the hospital

When I stumbled on a path

Crossing through I met you

You were laying on a bed looking out the window

I greeted with a big smile ,You greeted back with a kind smile

It was so bright

I got up and sat next to you

At that moment we became friends

Friends with a big promise

"I promise to always be friends with you through good times and bad times"

Every day I walked through that path

Just to see you

We played games,We talked for long hours

We always kept that promise

Until one day

I walked through that path as usual

But this time the path was different

You weren’t in it

"Where is my friend?"

I asked a nurse

"She went to a better place..."

She gave me a folded paper

I got up on your bed and unfolded it

Even if I’m not with you everyday

When times are hard

I promise you

I’ll always be in your heart

I’ll always be your friend
