@sushisoju: i am so sorry for the ridiculously long time you had to wait for your oneshot. i honestly did not expect so many things would come up in the summer and then school kicked my . so i would like to give you credit for waiting so patiently for your oneshot. it's not exactly as plot-oriented as the other requests, but there's yoonhae moments which i hope you will enjoy. once again. MIANHEEEEE ;~; and i'm sorry if it doesn't live up to your expectations. alksdjflkdsjlafekj. agh. i need to fix my procrastination problems. 

Donghae chucked his phone across the dorm room he shared with Eunhyuk- an action he immediately regretted when Leeteuk-hyung shouted from outside, “Yah, Fishy! If you’re going to stay up here and molder in your room all day long, don’t go about trashing it as well!”

It had been a very unpleasant week for him. Promotions for “A-Cha” had finally ended but everyone was exhausted and disappointments were burdens that weighed all the boys down. Donghae himself had come down with a cold and to be completely honest, it was a miracle he managed to get through the jam-packed schedules, hectic performances and late night practices in one piece.

And just as things couldn’t get any worse, he and his girlfriend, his angel and his light, were currently having problems with their relationship.

It was to be expected that they would run into hard times- after all, they were beloved idols with fans and the media watching their every move, waiting for the one moment where they would screw up. People can be pretty damn heartless… Donghae thought to himself as he reached for his Macbook and powered it on.

Lately, they had been unable to see each other much, due to not only his own busy schedule but also Yoona being immersed with preparations for SNSD’s comeback with “The Boys.” And whenever they did have time to see each other, it seemed that all they did was argue over stupid, pointless matters that drove a wedge deeper between them.

Donghae thought things might slightly improve at the SM TOWN concert at NYC- hell, he even bought flowers for her, just to see if he could woo her over again. But although she took the flowers he got her and smiled sweetly at him when all of SM Town gathered together at the end, as soon as they were alone together, the fighting and frustration flared up once more.

The last time they spoke to each other, Yoona had angrily shouted at him, “Oppa, you’re being too overprotective and clingy! I can take care of myself…why can’t you understand that?! I need my space!” That look she had thrown him of her large, doe eyes which he adored so much filled with pain and b with tears had torn him apart and left him to fight with his overwhelming feelings of guilt and longing for her. It had only been moments ago that Donghae had finally found the courage to text her.

“When did I become such a ?” Donghae muttered to himself. While he surfed the net, he felt his mind drift off and the sharp edge of self-loathing dulling slightly. When he finally returned to his consciousness of mind, he had somehow ended up on Youtube. Instinctively, he scrolled down to the Recently Viewed Videos tab and clicked on the video he had lately made a habit to watch everyday.

The opening, techno strains of “The Boys” filled the room and soon enough, Donghae was completely focused on Yoona and only Yoona within the group of his pretty dongsaengs. He couldn’t help but sing along as they chanted, “Girls bring the boys out!”

As soon as the video finished, he was just about to switch out of the Youtube tab when another video featuring Yoona caught his eye. He clicked on it and then realized it was a recording of when she had been on Strong Heart the other day. Donghae felt his anxiety ease as he watched those luscious lips of hers curl up into the smile everyone adored as she laughed at the MC’s jokes.

“…There are actions that make my heart beat quickly. My heart beats whenever a guy ruffles my hair, as if I’m a child, and tells me that I’m cute…”

Donghae grinned as he recalled how much he loved touching her hair in an affectionate manner…his smile was then quickly replaced by a hard frown when suddenly, Lee Sung Gi brought his hand up to Yoona’s head and ran her fingers through her hair.

He immediately exited out of Youtube and decided that right then and there, Lee Sung Gi had to die.

No…calm down, Lee Donghae, he told himself. This is probably what Yoong meant by being too clingy and overprotective. You get jealous WAY too easily. He sighed and closed his laptop.

It was never easy to accept just how much attention Yoona attracted from other guys, fans and idols alike. Donghae had long ago decided it was not worth it torturing himself by reading the countless lewd comments posted by fanboys on the internet. But dealing with fellow idols crushing on his girlfriend was a different story.

He was never openly hostile to any of them- but it had only been recently that he had made a resolution of friendship with Ok Taecyeon, after which the younger had admitted his defeat in trying to appeal to Yoona. Donghae also used to be wary of “KhunA” but lately he had no reason to be worried since Nichkhun seemed enamored with his Chinese girlfriend.

Donghae even had to grapple with discomforting awareness and jealousy of his hyungs and dongsaengs- the main culprits being Changmin, Siwon and Kibum.

But I can’t help it…I love her so much that I get so goddamn selfish and I want her to be mine and mine only… Donghae thought as he slowly closed his eyes.

“Oppa…oppa…OPPA!”

Donghae blinked. A seraph was standing over him, her smile radiating with brilliance and her fingers tracing the outline of his jaw. “Wake uuuupppp, Donghae-oppa,” she sang. He shot straight up out of his bed and was now wide awake.

“Y-Yoona?” he stuttered, astonished. “…How did you get here?”

Her cheeks colored as she said, “I…I got your text…plus Leeteuk-oppa called me…so I justhad to find time to see you. And well…it’s not hard to ask Hyukjae for a spare key plus Oppa sleeps like a log when he’s tired.” Donghae simply stared at her before bursting out into laughter.

“Aish…you never cease to amaze me, Yoong. Come here,” he said, smirking and pulling her towards him.

“Donghae-oppa…I’m sorry about what I said the other day,” she said, her soft voice barely above a whisper. “It’s just that…I was really stressed and I guess you approached me at the wrong place and wrong time. Plus…I was really afraid some stalker was going to take a picture of us and create a scandal…”

“Shhh…” he shushed her, pressing his forehead against hers. “It’s okay. I know. This life brings the worst out of us…and I have discovered that you can be incredibly stubborn and aggravating as hell when you’re under extreme pressure.”

Yoona pouted and he had to bite back his tongue to keep from laughing at her expression. “…but that doesn’t matter ‘cause in the end…deep down I’ll still always love you and we’ll get through the obstacles in life together.”

“…I love you, Donghae-oppa.”

Donghae grinned, pulled her into him and kissed her with gentle passion. “I’ve missed you, Im-choding,” he murmured as he wrapped his arms around her slim body and they sank into a peaceful oasis of blissful cuddling.

A/N: hello everyone! this particular requested oneshot was written as a tribute to my two best friends who just went through a really bad breakup. it's kind of my way of saying that any good couple, if their time together meant anything at all, will find a way to get back together. 

btw- i've hit the 100 subscriber mark?! holy crap, thank you so much guys ;~; 

i've been brainstorming possible oneshot ideas lately so you guys may see some new oneshots coming up in the future! but i'm going to be out of action for this week since i'm going on a school trip so hwaiting!
