Is This Love?
Kerry’s P.O.V
I cried a little when I saw Su-Ji; it had been almost a year since I last saw her when she was staying in the UK as part of the Global Classroom Project.
After a plentiful time spent hugging each other and answering questions about my lack of luggage, we set off out the front doors. Some young boys were playing on the bike stands; one hanging upside-down by his knees; He grinned cheekily as we wandered past.
Su-Ji hailed down a taxi on the road and we were soon on the short journey back to her house. She clutched my hand tightly the whole way and watched intently out the window.
When the taxi pulled in front of Su-Ji’s house, a woman who I presumed to be her mum came out of the front door beaming beautifully.
“Hi girls,” She spoke in near perfect English. “Did you have a safe trip, Kerry? I hope there weren’t too many delays.”
I smiled and nodded, embarrassed.
“You’re travelling... light?” She continued, looking at my tiny handbag.
I blushed, my shy side getting the better of me.
“Oh, the airport lost her suitcase so she hasn’t got anything with her.” Su-Ji replied for me.
Her mum nodded sympathetically.
