Today is Rainie’s birthday; Ariel woke up early and got dress. She called everyone on her list and reminded everyone about the plan. It was almost 9:00 and Rainie knocked on the door.

Ariel: come in.

Rainie: hey, you’re up so early today. What are you doing?

Ariel: oh nothing just talking on the phone.

Rainie: with the guy you met at the mall? She joked.

Ariel: him, no way.

Rainie: you know a lot of couples start out as enemies.

Ariel: yuck, I m not talking to you anymore, I m hungry.

Rainie: fine, I’ll make breakfast.

Ariel: no, let’s go out and eat. My treat!
Rainie: why are you being so nice today?

Ariel: Nice, no way I’m just tired of your cooking.

Rainie: no one can talk about my cooking and get away. you better run cos I’m gonna get you.

They ran out of the room and down the hall, yelling and laughing and tickling each other.

It was 5: 30 Rainie parked her car at the parking Lot of La cafe, a favorite hangout place for teens. It was owned by Mr. Chen, a very nice guy, he also owns the house the girls live in.
Rainie push opened the door.

Everyone: surprise!!!!!

Rainie was speechless from seeing all of her friends there.

Everyone: happy birthday.

Ariel pushed a cart with a 3-layer birthday cake towards Rainie.

Ariel: come on birthday girl make a wish.

Rainie made her wish and blew out the candles: you guys are o sweet, thank you so much.

The music started playing.

Cyndi: Ariel you invited performers too.

Ariel: I didn’t, I don’t know where they came from.

4 guys come on stage wearing all white.

Lara: omg, its F4!

Cyndi: they look so cute.

Yumi: Jerry, I love him.

Kelly: no, Vanness is better.

Cyndi: Ken is the best.

Joe look at Mike and smiled: nice going.

Mike: I saw their pics everywhere; figure they must be pretty good.

Ariel: Mike did you invite them.

Mike: maybe. He smiled as he said it.

Rainie walks over to them: Ariel, this is incredible. These guys are amazing. Thank you so much.

Ariel: actually Mike is the one who invited them.

Rainie: thanks

Mike: anytime. I hope you like this present.

Rainie turned her attention back to the stage and realized Jerry was walking towards her. He took her hand and started to sing the theme song of meteor garden by Harlem Yu.

Mike: Ariel, do you want something to drink?

Ariel: sure, can you get me a soda.

Mike: I’ll be right back. Mike took one final look at Rainie then walk away.

Ariel Looked around and spotted a familiar face. It was the guy from the mall. He was talking to some of her friends and did not notice her looking at him.

Ariel walks toward him: what are you doing here, I didn’t invite you?

Joe: my friend invited me.

Ariel: who is this friend of ours, I would like to talk to him.

Rainie came over: Ariel, what’s wrong?

Ariel: someone came here uninvited. But don’t worry, I can take care of it.

Joe: I told you, I came with my friend! He’s here somewhere.

Ariel: stop lying, your not fooling anyone. Just get out.

Rainie: Ariel, chill out maybe he’s telling the truth.

Mike returned with 2 cups of soda and saw Ariel and Joe arguing.

Mike: Ariel here’s your soda. This is my best friend Joe; Joe, this is Ariel and that’s Rainie. But I think you guys already know each other.

Ariel + Joe: what that’s Joe/ Ariel?

At this time F4 started singing Meteor Rain.

Rainie: this is my favorite song.

Joe: may I have the pleasure to dance with the birthday girl?

Rainie: sure.

Ariel: wanna dance?

Mike: sure.

Joe’s eyes were on Ariel and watching her every move. She smiled when Mike whispered something in her ear. When Joe turned around he realized Rainie was looking at him. He smiled and she smiled back.

Rainie: Joe Right?

Joe: yea. I haven’t wished you happy birthday.

Rainie: thanks, do you like Ariel.

Joe: what, come on why I would like her, I barely know her.

Rainie smiled: that’s a good excuse.

Joe: yea, and she hates me.

Rainie: no she doesn’t. It’s just the way she acts towards strangers, but she’s a nice girl. you’ll see.

Joe: I am not sure about that.

The music stopped and an upbeat song started playing.

Rainie: I think I’ll skip this one.

Joe: sure, just save me another dance before the night ends.

Rainie: ok. She walks through the crowded and into the kitchen.

Rainie was drink water when the door opened and Ariel came in.

Ariel: how was the dance? I saw you smiling. you must be having a lot fun with that jerk.

Rainie teased: he’s not Bad.

Ariel: whatever, I just can’t stand that loser, and he probably can’t stand me either.

Rainie: are you sure, that’s not what I see.

Ariel: what do you mean?

Rainie: I think he likes you.

Ariel: no way, that’s impossible.

Rainie: believe it or not it’s up to you. I am going back to the party.

The party’s over and everyone left. Ariel was sitting on the table looking very tired while Rainie, Mike and Joe were busy cleaning up.

Rainie: why don’t you guys take Ariel home, I’ll take care of the rest.

Mike: are you sure?

Rainie: yea, I got it.

Mike: ok then, Joe, Ariel lets go home.

Ariel: Rainie, I’ll see you at home then.

At the parking lot, Ariel’s eyes were wide open when she saw their car.

Ariel: wow, cool car. Whose is it?

Mike: it’s Joe’s. His got better taste with cars. He said while getting into his yellow Ferrari.

Ariel: may be but he’s not gonna get the girl cos he’s a jerk. She got in Mike’s car and sticks her tongue out .

They stopped in front of the girls’ house and Ariel got out of the car.

Ariel: thanks, I had a good time tonight, see you tomorrow.

Mike: All right see you.

After they make sure Ariel got into the house safely Joe: you’re not going home are you?

Mike: I’m gonna go see if Rainie needs help.

Joe: that’s it?

Mike: of course, what else.

Joe: I think I know this better than anyone, you like her don’t you?

Mike: I am not sure what it means, but don’t worry I now the rules.

Joe: alright, I’m gonna go. See you later.

Mike started his car and drove back the same way they came. Ariel was stand next to the window and saw everything.
