Japanese Vowels?
All Your Questions Answered!Well it's always great to know two or more languages, but what if the one you really want to learn is giving you problems when it comes to pronunciations? Well in this chapter I will give examples of how to pronounce some Japanese letters!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's start with the 5 vowels! But remember these sounds are short and sharp! It may take a few times for you to remember but don't worry Practice makes Perfect right?
(A)- [Ah] The "a" makes a sound like the letter "o" in "got" so the sound is [Ah]
(E)- [Eh] The "e" is pronounced like it is in the word "forget" so the sound is [Eh]
(I)- [Ee] The "i" is pronounced like the letter "e" in "fee" so the sound is [Ee]
(O)- [Oh] The "o" is pronounced like it is in the word "throw" so the sound is [Oh]
(U)- [Oo] the "u" is pronounced like it is in the word "soon" so the sound is [Oo] {For this sound do your best to not stick out your lips!}
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, let's start with a fact! In the Japanese language or when pronouncing the Japanese language there is no "l" sound! I will explain below~!
When it comes to say a "l" it always magically turns into the letter "r". So my name for example: Kaitlyn in Japanese it is Keitorin.
Okay, so here is the hardest part for that magic trick, pronouncing....
Well let's just be honest, it's a mix between an "l" and an "r". It is very complicated to explain through a computer but once you hear a native speaker say it, you will most-likely understand!
