Assumptions
Maybe...just Maybe (KyuSun One-shot and drabble collection)For what seemed like the nth time, he missed.
He merely sighed, as he started to dribble the ball again, finding the right angle to shoot. He did not give up on something as trivial as this, because he knew it wouldn’t hurt so much when he lost. Losing her, however…
“Cho Kyuhyun!”… isn’t trivial at all. “Hhh…hey!” She held onto her knees, panting—trying to catch her breath. He may have had ran too fast for her to catch, but she knew him well. Too damn well to be wrong where to run when he suddenly disappears out of her sight whenever she chases him, just like this.
But, no. It’s not like they suddenly decided to be childish today and play hide-and-seek.
And not that Kyuhyun isn’t childish enough to be running from his frustrations, either.
“What’s with you?”
She started asking, like she didn’t already know. She was trying to go easy on him, giving him the freedom to make something up. It didn’t matter if he lied his way out of this ‘cause she already knew the truth, anyway.
Kyuhyun stared at her, hoping that she’ll get it. And so, when she simply stared back, he shook his head in disappointment and started walking away. Yet, again.
“Kyuhyun, don’t start to run again and tire yourself out. You know I’ll find you eventually.”
“Don’t tire yourself out either. You know I’ll keep running anyway, whenever you eventually find me.” He retorts, seeing her as one, hopeless case.
For what it seemed like the nth time, they were tiring each other out.
Sunny was already smiling smugly as he was saying that last line. She realized that he really doesn’t want to have to spell things out, himself.
“I’m sorry, okay?” Kyuhyun bit his lip and looked down as she spoke. “Don’t be mad anymore…”
Kyuhyun sighed. She really need not apologize. It wouldn’t make any difference, anyway. When they’re made up, what would they be afterwards? They’ll be back as friends...which is all that they’ll ever be.
Well, let’s just say that he, despite not having to take any alcohol or any mind-altering substance to borrow guts from had confessed to her. And yes. She took it. She actually took it. But she didn’t actually take it the right way. ‘Going out’ simply meant eating out and nothing more. How dare she misunderstand? So then, all along, for weeks, Kyuhyun has been assuming that their relationship is finally up that level, surpassing friends, until this dude, Taecyeon shows up seemingly making moves on her and Kyuhyun of course told him to lay off. But apparently, he didn’t really have the authority to do that. And god, he didn’t know, Sunny. He didn’t know.
Not until five minutes ago.
He kept silent, selfishly contemplating on these thoughts; and so she took the initiative and walked towards him, taking the ball from his hands.
“Let’s have a deal, then.” Kyuhyun faced her and waited for her proposal. “One minute.” he crossed her arms. “If I manage to steal the ball from you and shoot, you’ll forgive me.”
Kyuhyun laughed, hearing that. It sudde
