Developing Friendship

Gongchan has never annoyed me so much in only one day. The whole time, I was stuck being dragged around town by that little brat. From this store to that store, and every store in between, Gongchan didn’t give us any moment to rest. I didn’t understand how the other guys were happily going along with everything either. I understand Gongchan is the youngest in the group, but don’t these guy have a limit? I already surpassed mine hours ago. It’s a miracle that I’m even sane right now.

And you wouldn’t imagine that amount of times someone would ask whether Gongchan and Namsoo were brothers.

“Us? Brothers? How can you say that? We looking nothing alike.”

If only Gongchan understood how wrong he is.

I avoided Jaehyun for the whole day as well. He made it obvious that he was upset about the whole ‘ignoring him unlike he stops acting like a ’ thing. He wouldn’t talk with anyone else in the group and basically spend the whole time being moody. The only other time he really did act was when he made sure Baro wouldn’t go anywhere near me.

When we took our lunch break, Jaehyun purposely made it so that Baro was sitting across from me rather than next to me. While we walked around, Jaehyun would make sure there was a large space between me and Baro. If I even tried talking to Baro, Jaehyun would quickly cut me off and change the subject. Even Baro began noticing how weird Jaehyun was acting.

And it was all beginning to piss me off.

“The street fair started about an hour ago,” Gongchan said when he noticed the time. He was too busy running around all day, he hadn’t noticed it was already past the time we were supposed to leave. We were already in the van on our way to the streetfair.

“So your uncle owns the whole area?” Jinyoung asked as he looked around. We were clearly on the side of the city where only the rich people would live. All these expensive buildings and stores made my wallet want to cry. I never imagined I’d be surrounded by so many rich things in my life.

“Sort of. He shares the area with his step brother.”

“How can you own this whole area? It made no sense.” I muttered.

“If you have the money, it doesn’t need to make sense,” Gongchan said leserally.

We finally made it to where the fair was being held. The thing went on for about four blocks and I cringed at the thought of having to walk all that. Knowing Gongchan, he was going to want us to check out every single stand. There were stands everywhere; some selling food, others offering games, and others selling poorly made merchandise. Kids were already here, running around and having the time of their life while their parents chased after them. Streets performers walked around here and there and it all made my head hurt.

There was too much people for my own good. It was already full of people and it made me wonder how many more are coming later.

After handing in our free tickets at one of the entrance, we finally entered the area and at that moment I wanted to go home. Not back to the vacation home, but to my actual apartment.

This was going to be an annoying day, I can already tell.

I glanced at one of the nearby stands, who were selling crepes. I glanced at the price board behind the seller and frowned. $5 for just one of those things? Now imagine how expensive everything else costs around here.

These people think I out money or something.

Gongchan must have noticed my reaction to the prices because he wrapped his arms around my shoulders and pulled me into him. Remind me to beat the crap out of his brat for being younger yet taller than me.

“Don’t worry, Junghwan. You can get whatever you want. I’m paying.”

I first tried to calm myself from hearing Gongchan call me by my real name and reminded myself that he was an idiot and couldn’t even remember his own names at time. (That was a lie, but he was still an idiot.)

“Once again,” I said to the kid, “You’re being awfully nice for no apparent reason. There’s something totally going on.”

Gongchan let out the fakest laugh I have ever heard in my life and patted me a bit too hard on my back. “You and your jokes, Junghwan. I can never get tired of them.”

I wasn’t sure how to tell this idiot that I wasn't joking and that I was actually really suspicious of him. He wanted something, I know it. I just couldn’t put my fingers on exactly what. Gongchan had all the money he needed to get anybody to do whatever he wanted. So why on Earth was he trying to bribe us?

“Just accept the offer and stop questioning everything,” Namsoo said with a chuckle as he suddenly appeared behind me. I wasn’t aware everybody else were listening into the conversation.

“Easy for you to say,” I muttered, “Unlike you guys, I’m not used to spending my money all willy nilly just for the hell of it. Especially on other people.”

“Willy nilly?”

“Did he just say willy nilly?”

“Shut up,” I snapped. I could feel my face heating up. “You know what I mean.” - “I’m telling you, I’m doing this because I want to. There’s no other motive behind it.” Gongchan flashed me a smile that I couldn’t trust. And that made my suspicion rise even more. I wasn’t getting a good feeling about this at all.

At that moment, Baro playfully threw an arm around my neck, grabbing me into a chokehold and pulling me in so that my body was pressed up against his.

“Stop ganging up on our Deullie,” he said with a teasing voice, “It’s not his fault that he hates people and never trusts anybody.” I tried getting out of his hold, but he had me locked tight.

“He trusts you though,” Namsoo said and the rest of the guys nodded their heads in agreement. Except for Jaehyun, who looked more like he was ready to kill something. Or kill Baro. It wasn’t good for him to hear any of this, seeing that the only reason he hates Baro so much is because I managed to open up to Baro more than I ever opened up to Jaehyun.

“That’s because we’re best friends,” Baro said with the proudest smile one could ever form. Once again, I don’t recall ever calling him my best friend.

“You guys clearly are close,” Jinyoung said with a chuckle.

“So close,” Gongchan added, “I would’ve thought you guys were in love with each other or something. Or at least Baro would be. Junghwan has a long way to go before he even gets a crush.” Gongchan and Namsoo laughed as if that was seriously the funniest joke they have ever heard.

Jinyoung chuckled along, but there was that look on his face that made him look like he was clearly hiding something.

Only Baro, Jaehyun and I weren’t laughing. Jaehyun had the aura of a killer. A real serious killer. I could see the flames in his eyes and the way his hands quickly turned into fists.

Baro and I, on the other hand, remained completely quiet. Baro had that look like a deer caught in the headlights and I kept trying to keep my own composure. But with Baro still standing so close to me, his arm still around my next, I don’t think it went very well.

“Anyways,” Jinyoung said after another minute of his horribly awful laughter. I don’t care what you say, he might be the smartest in the group but his acting is horrible. “Let’s take a look around before this place starts getting too crowded.”

By now more people were beginning to pile in and it wouldn’t be a surprise if one of us got lost within the crowd.

“Come on, love birds,” Gongchan joked again. He grabbed me and pulled me out of Baro’s grip. “Let’s go check out the games!”

I glanced back at Baro as I was dragged away and Baro still had that awkward look on his face. I sent him a glare and that was enough to take him out of his stupid thoughts and bring him back to reality.

My eyes then wandered towards Jaehyun, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jaehyun look angrier than he did at that one moment.

-

Once again, Gongchan didn’t give us any time to rest. He probably wasted over $200 on us, buying us food at every stand, having us play every game we came across until one of us won, and even buying such some these stupid animal headbands just because, “Jinyoung will totally think I look cute in these.”

I was stuck with the tiger ears.

The couple jokes didn’t stop either. Gongchan and Namsoo would occasionally point out any couple related thing they saw and call me and Baro out for it. Many of their jokes were completely unoriginal and made me roll my eyes and send them a glare, but being the idiot that he was, Baro would blush and become a stuttering mess until. Eventually Jinyoung would change the subject and take us out of the spotlight and Baro can finally calm down a little, but his blush would still stay there. And each time, Jaehyun looked like he was ready to kill a person, or Baro specifically.

“Keep this up and we might find Jaehyun on the 11 o'clock news,” Jinyoung pointed out while we watched the rest of the guys play this stupid fishing game. Whoever catches a fake fish wins a real one. Jaehyun was also on the side watch them, but he was standing a lot further from me and Jinyoung.

“I’m not doing anything,” I simply responded.

Jinyoung clearly didn’t buy that and I’m sure he already had an idea about what was actually going on. It’s been pretty obvious that I was ignoring Jaehyun.

“Is that why you haven’t spoken to him at all today?” We were talking low enough so that nobody else could listen to what we were saying.

“Something happened and so I’m keeping my distance from him for a while. The only reason he’s so mad right now is because Gongchan keeps pulling those love jokes about me and Baro. You should really tell your little pet to stop.”

“Even if I do tell him to stop, you really think he’s going to listen to me. Gongchan is a free spirit.”

“Please,” I muttered as I glared over to that tall brat, “If you asked him to jump off a plane, he’ll do it in a heartbeat.”

“Why would he?”

“What do you mean-” I paused. Jinyoung had his head tilted a bit to the side and looked completely confused about what I was saying. Does he seriously have no idea that Gongchan has a huge thing for him? I mean, it’s been obvious since the first time Gongchan ever even mentioned Jinyoung. And that was back when he thought Jinyoung was a robot.

“Forget it,” I muttered. There was no need to tell Jinyoung when he could figure it out himself. He’s a bit dense for someone so smart.

At that moment, Gongchan came running up to us with a goldfish in a plastic bag. “Look!” he said cheerfully, speaking directly to Jinyoung and not paying me any mind at all. Not that I cared, I like it better like that anyways. “It took me 15 tires, but I caught one.”

“Wasn’t it $3 for each try?”

“So? I still won!”

“Me too.” Namsoo walked up to us and began showing off his fish to Jinyoung as well. “But I caught mine after the second try.”

Gongchan rolled his eyes and practically shoved the plastic bag in Jinyoung’s face. “Who cares about Namsoo’s. Look at my fish. I’m naming him Jin.”

“Yes, yes,” Jinyoung said with a chuckle as he patted Gongchan on the top of his head like a loyal puppy, “It’s a nice fish. I’m proud of you.”

I noticed Baro walking towards us in the most depressing manner and it was a little pathetic. “What’s wrong with you?” I asked once he finally made it to my side. I glanced towards Jaehyun to see if he was getting ready to separate me and Baro again, like he has  been doing all day, but for the first time, he just stood there and didn’t say anything.

“I didn’t catch anything.”

I looked down to see Baro’s hand completely empty handed. He still had that dumb pout on his face and so I couldn’t help but frown. “It’s only a fish. You can go to the pet shop and buy one for a buck.”

By now it was just me and Baro in the conversation. At the moment, Jinyoung was being hassled by both Gongchan and Namsoo as they were trying to choose whose fish was better and Jinyoung would smile and say both fishes were unique in their own way. The reality was, they both looked the same.

“It’s not the same,” Baro said, “It means a lot more when you win the fish instead of buying it. It’s the sense of accomplishment.”

“It’ll die in a week anyways.”

Baro didn’t respond and went back to pouting. I couldn’t help but look at the animal headband he had on, he was given the hamster ears, and it wasn't really fair to see Baro with hamster ears and pouting like a 5-year-old.

So I rolled my eyes and grabbed him by the arm, pulling Baro in so that he was at a closer hearing distance and there was no chance of anybody hearing. Sure, it wasn’t smart to pull Baro closer to me when Jaehyun was already sending us a death glare.

“When we separate ourselves, I’ll let you try again,” I whispered into Baro’s ear.

I wasn’t sure if he could hear me since there were so many people around us and there was music playing loudly in the background, but Baro pulled his head away and smiled brightly at me with a nod of his head.

I still wasn’t sure when Baro was planning to leave the guys. We’ve been here for a couple of hours and it was already dark outside as night was coming. Of course, the street fair lit the whole place up and it didn’t even seem like the fun around here was planning on dying anytime soon.

“I already know which fish I want when I win.” Without a warning, Baro grabbed me by the arm and pulled me back towards where the fishing stand was. Behind the counter, there was a glass case of all the different fishes of different sizes that were being given out as prizes.

“See that black one?” Baro pointed towards the top right of the case where a black fish was swimming around on its own. Unlike the other fishes, it was completely isolated from the rest of the fishes. It was a little bit smaller than most of the other fishes and had these horribly weird eyes that took up most of it’s face. It was an ugly fish.

“Out of all those fishes, you want the one that looks like he’s wearing glasses?” I muttered.

"It reminds me of you," Baro mumbled softly.

I took a double take that the fish before turning to face Baro. "Are you trying to offend me?"

Baro laughed and waved his hand at me in a way to signal that I was misunderstanding the situation. "No. I'm not sure, but it just reminds me of you."

"It's nice to know that the ugliest fish in the case is the one that reminds you of me."

"You don't get it," Baro said. His eyes wandered back to the case and they were now locked on the black fish swimming alone. Whenever another fish would go near it, the black fish would quickly go the opposite direction to avoid it. I couldn't possibly understand how that fish could remind Baro of me.

"Clearly," I muttered as I watched the fish a little longer. But eventually I decided it was enough looking at that ugly fish and that it was time to go back to the gang before they noticed we were gone. Last thing I needed was to have Gongchan up my about it and continue to crack more couple jokes.

But when I turned around to look for them, I froze.

Somehow, within that small time period while our attention were locked on the fishes, the area around us became completely packed.

There were people everywhere and yet there was no signs of the gang at all. They were no longer at the spot where we had left them and I didn't believe they would move without one of them letting us know. We couldn't afford to get lost.

"Baro," I called while tapping him on the shoulder to take his attention off the dumb fish. "Did Gongchan mention where he wanted to go next?"

"No. Why?"

"Because the guys aren't there anymore."

I pointed towards the spot where we had left them, and indeed, the gang was no longer there and were replaced by a bunch of strangers we've never seen before.

Baro scanned the area and frowned when he didn't see them anywhere around us.

"No problem," he said, "We'll just call them." Baro took out his cellphone and got ready to open his contacts, but his eyes suddenly widen when he looked at his phone. "Crap. My phone is on 2%."

"That should be enough power to call and just let them know where we are," I mentioned, "They can come find us."

"No," Baro said as he locked his screen, "my phone isn't able to make calls or send messages when it's under 5%."

"Why kind of crappy phone do you have," I snapped, "You didn't charge it?"

"We were out all day. I didn't have time to charge it. Why can't we use your phone?"

I stayed silent and turned my body so that my back was now facing Baro. I mumbled my response but Baro couldn't understand because he asked me to repeat it louder.

"I don't have my phone," I snapped.

"What? Why not?"

I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck as I faced Baro again. "I left it back in our room."

Baro faced palmed himself and I wished he had hit himself a little harder to leave a mark or something. Maybe then he wouldn’t look so good even with those stupid hamster ears on. “How could you forget about your phone in your room?”

“I don’t know,” I mumbled. “I just did. Anyways, It’s not like the guys could have gotten that far either way. It won’t be long before they figure out we’re not with them and they’ll come back looking for us.”

Baro nodded his head in agreement. He then turned back towards the fishing stand and tugged on my sleeve so that I would turn around as well. “Since we’re going to be stuck here, lets play a few rounds. Maybe I can win that fish.”

“Do you have money?”

“No. Don’t you?”

“No.”

The two of us sighed and instead decided to sit at a nearby bench that was not too far from the stand. I didn’t understand how the guys were able to leave without realizing we weren’t with them. Clearly Gongchan would have noticed if somebody was missing.

And Jaehyun obviously had his eyes locked on us when we made our way towards the fishing stand. How did he suddenly lose sight of us enough to have us get lost. He knew where we were, so why didn’t he let the others know before they left?

Baro suddenly reached over and grabbed my right hand before pulling off the mitten I had on. “What are you doing?” I asked when I saw him putting the mitten on his hand instead.

“I wouldn’t have ever thought you’d own mittens. Only kids wear these kind of things.”

I frowned as I tried snatching the mitten back but Baro playfully kept it out of reach and I couldn’t get it. “It’s cute though,” he said as I kept trying to reach over and grab it.

I didn’t know whether he was trying to mess with me or something. One minute he was telling me an ugly fish reminded him of me and now he’s calling me cute for owning mittens. They weren’t even my mittens; my mom forced me to bring them.

Baro wouldn’t give back my mitten so I just gave up altogether. We sat there for a long time, waiting for the guys to come back, but they never did. Baro and I spent that time talking about how tiring the day was (okay, I was the only one complaining while Baro just laughed) and making jokes about the people walking around in the fair (Baro was the only one making jokes while I just sighed).

Occasionally Baro would say something that was actually a little funny to which I would scoff or chuckle at, and that would bring this stupid smile on Baro’s face and he’ll continue the jokes so that I would happen again.

There was no signs of the guys coming back and I was beginning to get annoyed at staying in the same spot for so long. Baro still had my mitten and my right hand was beginning to get cold, so I stuffed it inside my jacket.

Just like while we were downtown earlier today, the street fair had this whole christmas theme going on. Now that it was getting darker out, there were less families and kids and a lot more couples hanging around.

There was one couple standing not too far from us that had caught my attention that were in the middle of looking at one of the food stands. Like Baro and I, the two of them were sharing winter gloves, but they were holding their bare hands together to keep it warm.

I glanced down at Baro’s hand and noticed that instead of putting his bare hand inside his pocket to keep warm like I did, he had put the hand with the mitten inside instead.  His bare hand was sitting on his lap out in the open.

“I don’t think they’re going to come back anytime soon,” Baro said, suddenly taking me out of my thoughts.

“I figured that 30 minutes ago.”

“Should we go look for them?”

There was really no other choice. If we sit here any longer, I might just die from a sore. I couldn’t sit on this uncomfortable  bench anymore.

Baro and I finally decided to get up and walk around in search for those idiots. This whole “losing them” thing didn’t make sense to me at all, but right now the only thing to worry about was finding them. At least me and Baro finally got our alone time.

“So tell me,” I said as the two of us made our way down to the next block of the fair, “Exactly, what was your plan to get us alone and away from the group?” I asked, “Unless, this was your plan all along?”

Baro chuckled but shook his head. “I was going to trick the guys and then have us sneak away while they were distracted. But this works too.”

I sighed. I looked around to see if I could sight any of the guys, but I quickly got distracted by all the christmas crap. It was horrible, mostly because the decorations literally screamed “couples.” Now, it’d be one thing if I was actually in a relationship, but being the single guy that I was, being around all this junk wasn’t fun at all. Especially when I was alone with Baro.

We wandered around for a bit and I couldn’t help notice that Baro still had his mitten covered hand in pocket, but his bare hand out in the open. Wasn’t that hand cold? What was the point of taking my mitten if he was going to have it stuffed inside his pocket.

Was he trying to hint something? Did he want us to do the same thing like that couple from before? Please, he couldn’t possibly think I’d agree to that. That was so lame. Besides, we weren’t even dating.

I suddenly felt Baro grabbed my mitten hand and I quickly turned my head to look at him.

“Did you hear what I said?” he asked.

“No. I was a bit distracted.”

“Well, your face is really red. Are you okay? You’re not sick, right?” He reached up to feel my forehead. I was completely unaware of how hot my face really was until Baro suddenly pulled his hands back and frowned. “You’re burning up.” He quickly pulled off the scarf that I lend him earlier today and wrapped it around my shoulder. “I think you’re getting a fever. This isn’t good.”

I couldn’t be getting a fever. I come dressed with an extra layer of clothing just to prevent that. I hardly ever get fevers.

Baro pulled my hand out from it and held onto it with his hand. "Even your hands are burning."

"I'm not sick," I argued.

Obviously Baro wasn't listening because he reached up to wrap the scarf even tighter around my neck and made it so that it was covering my mouth.

"Let's hurry and find the guys so that we can quickly take you home. You'll get even worst if you stay out of the cold."

Baro grabbed me by my non-mitten hand with his bare one and began leading me down the street fair. I wanted to pull my hand away but Baro held on to it tight. It wasn't like it was cold either. His hand was keeping it warm.

"It's funny how you were the one who dressed the most, and yet you were the one who got sick." Baro slowed down his pace a bit so that we were walking side by side, but he still wouldn't let go of my hand.

"You make it sound as though I did this intentionally." Because getting sick was really my goal for the evening. That's why I bundled up extra careful.

We wandered around some more. Baro would occasionally ask me how I was doing and try to check my temperature. Try being the key word because that idiot wouldn’t let go of my hand and so, instead of using his bare to check my forehead, he’d use the one with the mitten on it. It wouldn’t be until I give him a face that he’ll finally notice what he had done, and all that earned was a nervous chuckle and a soft “mybad” before pulling his hand away and continuing on our way. Not once did he ever think to let go of my hand.

I was tempted to ask for my other mitten back. We looked ridiculous sharing them and holding hands with our bare ones.

I could feel the way people were beginning to look at us. It was obvious from the faces some of them were making that they’ve never seen two teenage boys holding hands before. Which I found dumb.

Skinship has become a popular thing lately and a lot of celebrity do it all the time. So why is it weird for me and Baro to do it right now? And it wasn’t that I even cared what any of these people were thinking to be honest. I didn’t know these bastards and I’ll probably never never see them again in my life. So why does their opinions matter.

And the way Baro didn’t bother to let go either must have meant that he didn’t care as well. Or maybe he just didn’t notice yet. Baro could be a bit dense at times.

I could feel the fever finally hit me and my head suddenly began to feel light headed. I didn’t want to walk anymore, but I didn’t want to stop either. The sooner we find the gang, the sooner I can go back to bed.

But taking a two minute break wasn’t a bad idea, so I pulled Baro’s hand to get him to stop walking. He turned to me and gave me a look of concern. “Is somthing wrong? Is your fever getting worst?”

“I’m hungry.” It was a lie. Gongchan had us eat from every food stand we passed by, and my stomach couldn’t handle any more. But if I told Baro I wanted to sit for a bit, he’d go ape and up my because of the fever.

“We don’t have money though,” Baro said. Ironically, we had stopped right in front of a hotdog stand and so the two of us stared at it with nothing but regret on our faces. I would’ve brought money if Gongchan hadn’t told us he was going to pay for everything.

“At least, I’m pretty sure I don’t.” Baro dug inside his pocket and  tried searching for anything he could find. His eyes lightened up and he suddenly pulled out a bill. “I don’t know where this came from but at least we have something!” He said in excitement. He jumped a bit as he turned back to the hotdog stand. He looked at the price board and then turned to me with that stupid smile still on his face. “We have enough for just one hotdog.”

He quickly ordered and paid and soon we were back walking hand in hands with me holding the hotdog while not trying to make a disgusted face. Not only was I not that hungry at the moment, but I also wasn’t a big fan of hotdogs either.

Baro noticed how I wouldn’t eat and so he stopped again and turned to me. “Is there something wrong with the hotdog? Did you want ketchup on it?”

I shook my head and held it up so it was closer to his face. “I don’t want to take the first bite.”

“Why not?”

“I’m weird like that.”

That was enough to make Baro laugh. “Alright,” he said once he calmed down enough. “I’ll take the first bite. Anything for the pampered princess.”

I scowled at the nickname but pushed the hotdog closer to Baro’s face, hoping that he’d take it. But I didn’t expect from him to grab the wrist that was holding to the hotdog to keep it steady and lean in to take a bite. He pulled back, softly chewing, and still holding onto my wrist. “I’ve had better. But it’s okay.”

Whether it was the fever or something else, my face was burning and I needed it to calm down before I suddenly lose my cool.

“You guys are so gay, it’s unbelievable.”

Baro and I  both looked to the side where the voice suddenly came from. Jinyoung was standing there with his arms across his chest. He was sending us a glare, but I knew that it was specifically meant for me.

I quickly took a step back, pulling my hands away from Baro’s and turning to Jinyoung with a look that read “I didn’t do it.” Clearing my throat I asked, “How did you find us?”

“We’ve been looking for you guys everywhere. Why didn’t you answer our calls? What happened to you guys?”

“Baro’s phone died and I left mine at home,” I answered, “But the real question is, what happened to you? We walked away for two minutes and the next thing we know, all of you guys were gone.”

“We turned around but you guys were gone,” Jinyoung said defensively, like it was my fault that any of this happened.  “Whatever. It doesn’t matter anymore. The good thing is that I found you guys.”

Baro grabbed my sleeve and pulled me closer to him. “Deullie is sick. He has a fever.”

I was going to protest that I wasn’t and that Baro was just overreacting, But Jinyoung reached up and felted my forehead. “You really are burning up.” He pulled his hand away and sighed. “You need to go back to the vacation house. It’s getting dark, so it’s better if we leave anyways. Come on. The guys are waiting by these benches over there.” Jinyoung pointed towards the direction and the three of us began walking.

Baro was no longer holding my hand.

Once we got to where the guys were, Gongchan was the first to jump on our asses.

“You guys ruined it!” He complained, “We spent the whole time looking for you guys that we didn’t get to do anything I had planned.”

“We did enough that you wanted today,” I muttered back.

“It’s late,” Namsoo said once Gongchan had calmed down enough that he stopped crying to me and Baro and was now crying to Jinyoung only, “We should head back.”

“We’re coming back tomorrow anyways, remember?” Jinyoung said as he patted Gongchan’s head to calm him down.

I looked around and noticed that we were a person short. I wasn’t going to ask where Jaehyun was, since it was go against the whole ignoring thing and I couldn’t afford for him to hear that I was asking about him. He’ll probably get cocky about it.

But Jinyoung must have figured what I was thinking because he said, “Jaehyun went to stay at the van incase you guys had decided to go there. I’ll call him to let him know we found you guys.”

All five of us made our way to the van, and Gongchan suddenly jumped in between me and Baro, as we were walking side by side. “So, while the rest of us were busting our asses to find you guys, did you guys have a nice date?”

“Date?” Baro said and I wanted to punch him for asking. That was just going to get Gongchan started.

“Since the lovebirds were alone, obviously they’re not going to tell us what they were doing,” Namsoo said with a laugh.

Baro finally understood what they were talking about and his face turned head as he quickly shook his head. “It’s not like that! We just happened to get lost together.”

“Sure it’s not like that,” Gongchan said sarcastically. “Whatever you say.” He laughed and began jogging ahead of us and away from Baro.

“I said it’s not like that!” Baro shouted as he ran after him.

Jinyoung was now the one walking by my side, while Namsoo jogged after Baro to make sure he wouldn’t kill Gongchan.

“So you guys really didn’t get lost on purpose?” Jinyoung asked once the guys were gone.

“Not exactly. Baro had planned something like that so we could spend some time alone. But we really did get lost.” At that moment, I realized Baro never managed to get his ugly fish.

“And what was the whole feeding thing about?”

“That was all him.”

Jinyoung sighed and looked over at me with a worried look. I wasn’t sure what he was so concerned about. It wasn’t like I was the one who planned for this whole thing to happened. And it wasn’t his business anyways.

“I thought you said you were going to keep a distant so that Baro wouldn’t get any hopes up.”

“I am. But sometimes things just happens.”

“Sometimes I think you’re the one making them happen. Because you want to.”

He let out another sigh and then Jinyoung began walking ahead of me so that I was by myself again. What was he trying to say? That I purposely tried getting us lost so we could be alone? That I tricked Baro into holding my hand the whole time? That I made Baro take a bite from my hotdog that way?

Okay, maybe I could've tried harder to prevent those things. But I’m not one to try hard on anything.

And it’s not like I hated it either.

So maybe Jinyoung was right.

Chapter 31: That's great and all. Yay! They're finally going out!!!! Buuuuut, what about that possible animal that Sandeul bought at the dog and cat picture store? I mean, shouldn't it be suffocating inside of a backpack? Or was it not an animal? I'm seriously concerned about that backpack.

Thank you to Deullie's dad who forgot to pick him up! Deullie has finally said yes!!!! *does happy dance everywhere* I just can't contain my feels. Especially the part where Baro is saying all that he likes and Deullie responding.... I was fangirling so bad.
