Three Broken Hearts
At home…
“Na-yah, how’s your school today?” her mom asked her
“Omma, can I please change school?” she asked her
Her omma frowned, “What happened?” she asked
“The girls are bullying me” she said
“Are you sure you get bullied, or you just want to be tutored by Yunho again?” her appa asked her
She felt useless talking to her parents now… she just sighed, and run upstair… She refused to have dinner…
“What happened to Na-yah?” Donghae asked when he and Kyuhyun went inside the house and their parents were eating without their sister
“She refused to eat. She said that the girls at her new school are bullying her.” Donghae’s mom said
“She really wanted to be tutored by that boy that much that she lied like this?” Kyuhyun said before going upstair
“Kyuhyunah, let’s eat dinner together” Donghae’s mom said
Kyuhyun just like his usual self, ignored her.
Mrs.Lee sighed. Now that he’s angry with Nana, there’s no other reasons for him to stay and have dinner with them.
The next day at school…
“Kids, this morning we got a call from a worried parent, they are worried that you guys bullied one of the new students… please make sure to be nice to them okay!” the teacher made an announcement in the class
Nana was shocked when she heard that, did her mom called them? The teacher eyes stopped at her. She could feel that everyone in the class was staring at her, especially Suzy and her friends. I’m dead!
And that’s true! When the bell rang, they dragged her to the roof top again.
“Yah! I told you to keep quite!” Suzy told her and slapped her hard, her head hit the wall, she could feel her lips are bleeding
She grabbed her hair, “Yah! Do you think I’m joking?” she said while taking the pocket knife from her pocket
She pushed the knife to her face. She couldn’t scream, she’s afraid that if she’s moving too much, the blade will break her skin.
Suzy smiled and punched her on her stomach. Nana fell down that second, she held on to her stomach. “Guys do it!” she said and the other girls start to kick her everywhere.
“Don’t do it on her face” she could hear Suzy said that
After a while, they stopped, Nana could feel her whole body hurt everywhere.
Suzy slapped her one last time before heading out, “You know we’re serious now right!” she said tapping her cheek
Nana wiped her face in the bathroom before dragged herself to the bus stop. She wanted to cry so badly, but she wouldn’t. She would never let someone like that make her cry.
At Home
When she changed her school uniform, she could see purple bluish marks all over her body. There’s one light one on her face as well. She picked a long sleeve turtle neck shirt and long sweat pants. Putting foundation all over her face.
“Na-yah, don’t you feel hot in those clothes?” Mrs.Lee asked her daughter before her and her husband going out of town for a wedding. Donghae looked at his sister curiously; she usually loves to wear dresses.
She shook her head, “I’m a bit cold” she said
“Are you sick?” Her mom asked her again
“I… I’m just tired” she said
“Make sure to take care of yourself, we’re going to be back tomorrow night, okay” she said
“okay” she said and went back to her room up stair
Donghae looked at her sister who moved slowly to the stairs.
“This is her second night refusing dinner, she didn’t even eat anything after school” his mom said
“Please say congratulation to Yoonhee omma, tell her I’m sorry I can’t come” DOnghae said before going back upstair
Donghae followed Nana and grabbed her hand before she went into her room. She was startled; she pulled her hand right away because Donghae squished one of the bluish marks.
“Na-yah, are you okay?” he asked her
She nodded, “Why?” she asked back
“You’ve been acting weird lately!” he said
“I’m just tired!” she said
“Na-yah… “ he wanted to ask her something but he hesitant
“You… you’re not pregnant are you?” he asked her
Nana’s eyes widened, “O…oppa” she said
Tears are welding up on her eyes, “You think of me that low?” she asked him before slamming her door in front of him
Donghae rubbed his head slowly, I’m sorry Na-yah!

Nana woke up the next morning not feeling well, her body aches all over and she feels that she has a fever… She looked at her face and sighed, the blue color is even more striking now, against her white skin, she put a lot of effort to cover the blue marks on her face and legs.
When she went out of her room, Kyuhyun was just came out of his room as well… He didn’t even glance at her
“Oppa… I don’t feel good today… can you give me a ride?” she asked him
Kyuhyun finally glanced at her, but… “If you have that much time to put that much make-up on your face… I couldn’t tell at all that you’re not feeling well” he said
Nana looked at him sadly
He shook his head, “I don’t know what you’ve become Na-yah! I’m really disappointed of you! You never liked make up before” he said and walked away from her
Nana looked down and walked outside their house.
“Na-yah” she heard someone called her
“Yunho oppa?” she was shocked to find him standing in front of her house
“I… I found another address Na-yah!” he said
“Really oppa?” she asked him
“Is this why you’re wearing so much make-up today?” she heard someone behind her
“Oppa….” she called Kyuhyun who already get into his car. He was worried about Nana that he followed her to give her a ride, but he regretted it.
Nana tapped his car’s window, “Oppa, you misunderstood” she tried to convince him
“What’s that boy doing in front of our house?” Donghae suddenly showed up
“Oppa…” she tried to explain but she doesn’t know what to say
“Yah! Cho Nana! You’re really…..” Donghae lost his compose as well, he didn’t know what to say and what to believe anymore, “While our parents are out of town you’re inviting a guy home? Yah! You’re daebakk!” he added
“Oppa…..” she tried to say something
Donghae shook his head and went inside Kyuhyun’s car. Kyuhyun started the car and left her there, tearing up.
“Na-yah… “ Yunho tried to talk to her
“It’s okay oppa… where’s the address again?” she asked him
“Na-yah, wouldn’t it better if you tell them the truth?” he asked her
Nana shook her head, never!
After school…
Nana looked at the weather, the wind blow too hard… she doesn’t feel good at all….
She was walking in front of her school to the bus station when suddenly she felt freezing water was pouring on the top of her head. She looked back and found Suzy and her friends just poured a bucket of ice water to her. She was all wet.
Suzy was laughing and went inside her car with her friends.
Nana was shaking hard, her chest hurt. There’s no way she would be able to ride the bus now… She called her two oppas, but no one answered, she felt all alone…..
The last person she can think of is Kyuhyun, since she wasn’t able to reach him, she texted him, “Oppa, please pick me up.. I don’t feel good…” she pressed send and waited for him…
The wind blow harder, it was cold… She decided if Kyuhyun won’t pick her up, she’ll have to go home by her own… Should I just drop by to his office? It’s just across the street…. Eh? Why everything is spinning around? She shook her head, closed her eyes and opened it again… eh? Why everything turns black?

“Oppa, please pick me up.. I don’t feel good…”
Kyuhyun looked at his phone’s screen. Does she think I’m stupid? She played the same prank twice? Just because she doesn’t feel good, she has to be forgiven?
Kyuhyun finished his work that day and went home with Donghae.
“Kyuhyun-ah, are you still mad at Na-yah?” he asked him
“Are you hyung?” he asked Donghae back
“I don’t know, I can’t stay mad at her” he said
“Me neither” Kyuhyun finally admitted
They reached home at the same time when their parent reached home.
“Omma, how’s the wedding?” Donghae asked her
“It’s good! They all looking for you!” she said
“I’m busy omma, but Aboji was able to come with you right?” he said
When they entered the house the maid looked all pale and nervous, “Master, madam… there was a phone call from the police office just now, they said Miss Nana is in the hospital”
They dropped everything and run back to the car. “Kyuhyun-ah, you’re driving” his aboji said
They all run in the hospital’s corridor. They met with their family doctor outside her room.
“How is she?” Kyuhyun asked
“She’s fine right now… she’s only too tired, weak and dehydrated, we’re giving her IV fluid right now. She also has some fever that’s why she fainted” the doctor said
Kyuhyun felt so many loads lifted from him. “I want to see her now” he said
But the doctor stopped him, Kyuhyun looked at him confusedly.
He was a little bit hesitant. “Dr.Park, what’s happening?” Mr.Cho asked
“Is this the family?” two policemen came out from her room.
Dr.Park nodded.
“What happened?” Kyuhyun asked again
“Hm… we found many bruises in her body and face… they… they suspect she’s been hit at home… and they found out that she’s not your biological daughter… so they wanted to ask her first before letting you guys meet her” Dr.Park finally said
“She’s what???” Mr.Cho was shocked
“Bruises?” Kyuhyun asked him, he looked at the lady with accusation
“She… she told us that the girls at her school bullied her” she said
“We still need to ask her first before letting you guys meet her” the policemen said
“But that just doesn’t make sense… Dr.Park knows us well… we treated her like our own daughter… she’s our daughter!” he said
“I know… but we need to make sure” the policemen said
“Well, ask her know!” Kyuhyun said
“She’s still unconscious” they said
“I don’t care! I need to see her right now!” he said
Dr. Park sighed, “you can see her through the window right here” he opened the window for them
Kyuhyun’s heart hurt… there are bluish marks all over her body and face…
“Na-yah……!” he said weakly…..
Nana opened her eyes weakly, she’s staring at Kyuhyun from the window… The policemen went inside her room… he questioned her.. but she’s still too weak to answer… all she kept saying is “Oppa… Kyuhyun oppa”
“Is any one of you named Kyuhyun?” the policemen asked them
“That’s me” Kyuhyun answered
“I guess you can meet her now, she wants to meet you… we’ll question her again after this… but we’ll be in the room with you” they said
Kyuhyun run to her side as fast as he could, “Na-yah! I’m sorry… “ he said rubbing her head gently
“Oppa…. “ she said weakly
He kissed her forehead and she smiled a little bit..
“I miss you oppa… “ she said and drifting back to sleep again
