Seoul Hospital

Kyuhyun paced back and forward in front of the operation room a couple of times, his heart was beating 100 times faster than usual, blood feels drained from his head as the clock ticking…

“Mr.Cho” the doctor came out from the operation room

“I need you to sign this” he gave him an operation procedure

He signed it right away, “What… what kind of surgery that she need… is… is she okay?” he asked while unconsciously grabbing the doctor’s coat

“We will put a catheter in her heart for a temporary solution” he said, “I can’t tell you her condition yet” he went back to the room as soon as he signed it

“Na-yah….” He called her softly…. There were probably more than one door separating him from his sister right now.. she’s in a battle of life or death, again…. he wishes she could hear him…

“You have to win….” He told the door in front of him

This is not the first time something like this happened, he’s been in this position several times now… Every single procedure and surgeries that she needs ever since she was a baby.. but being in this position several times, never prepared him, never made it easier…. each time, it become harder and harder… because he will think that what if this will be the last time? Will she come out from that room this time?

Kyuhyun sit in front of the operation room, buried his face on his knee… When will this end? He hated this feeling… The feeling of unknown… not knowing when he’ll be able to see that smile from her again, or if he will ever see that smile again? Will he ever hear her voice again?

An hour has passed since then, still nothing…

It’s not unusual that it takes some time for her procedures, he waited almost 12 hours before for another procedures… it never become a routine for him… he hated it

The doctor finally came out….

“How is she?” he asked right away, he’s been asking this questions lots of times, it felt like De javu

“She’s okay now…” he said while tapping Kyuhyun’s shoulder to calm him down

“Did you call your parents yet?” he asked him

Kyuhyun shook his head, he forgot

“Let them know she’s okay now” the doctor told him

“What happened to her?” he asked the doctor

“Her heart is not in a good condition anymore, the hole is getting bigger, it means that both oxygen rich and oxygen poor blood got mixed, with that said, she doesn’t have enough oxygen circulating in her body. When she was admitted here two days ago….” The Doctor explained

“She… she was admitted to the hospital two days ago?” Kyuhyun was shocked

The doctor looked at him confused, “You didn’t know? No wonder you weren’t here at that time” he said

“Well, she was fainted at that time too, but we thought we could hold on the plan for catheter, but we have to do it today to save her” He explained

“Is… is she okay now?” he asked him again

The doctor nodded again to assure him, “It seems that she lost a lot of weight, that’s probably because she got short of breath every time she eat and it will continue to be that way… I will prescribe her many medications for her heart, and these will cause nausea so it might suppress her appetite even more. Just make sure she keeps up her weight” the doctor added

Kyuhyun nodded, and bowed as an appreciation to him. He left a message to her Aboji before went into her room…

He sit next to her… she was still unconscious with so many tubes come in and out of her… he traced her face… “I should never leave you…” he whispered

He grabbed her hand, rubbing the back of her hand to his cheek… “Please don’t leave me” he said and kissed her hand

Nana opened her eyes a little bit, the sun shine too bright that day… she wanted to block the sunlight with her hand, but she doesn’t have any energy to do it… suddenly it pitched dark, she doesn’t feel the sunlight anymore, someone blocked it for her..

“oppa?” she called him

“Am I in heaven?” she said and smiled jokingly

Suddenly she felt someone gave her a little smacked on her head, “Yah! Do you think you’re going to end up in heaven?” he said

Nana opened her eyes and found Kyuhyun beside her, she pouted

“You see…  You never listen to your oppas, always making trouble, always make everyone worried… what makes you think you deserve to go to heaven?” he added and smirked

Nana still pouted, “Where am I?” she asked

“You’re in the hospital…” he said and rubbed her hair gently

She slowly reached her heart, it hurt, she could feel something stuffy inside her heart. It’s hard for her to breathe… “What happened?” she asked him

“They put a catheter in your heart, to help you breathe” he said

“A catheter?” she asked him

Kyuhyun nodded and gently rubbing her cheeks, “Are you hungry yet?” he asked her

Nana shook her head, “This thing called catheter madeit hard to breathe” she said and tried to take a deep breath

“I’ll call the doctor” Kyuhyun told her

Nana grabbed his hand really quick, “I… stay here with me please” she said

Kyuhyun nodded, he understand… he climbed to the hospital bed and let her rest her head on his chest.. while he was hugging her with one of his arm

“I miss you” she said and smelled him

“Yah! Are you smelling me? I haven’t taken shower since I got back from Japan” he told her

“It’s okay… I haven’t taken shower since then as well…  I love your smell oppa…” she said and took another deep breath around him

“How long did I sleep this time?” she asked him

“Only 2 days” he told her

“Did everyone get really worry?” she asked

Kyuhyun nodded while gently her hair, “Does it hurt?” he asked her

“Annie…” she shook her head gently

“Why didn’t you tell me that you were in the hospital last time?” he asked her

“I don’t want you to be worried, it’s nothing” she said

“It’s nothing you said? Did you see what happened when you said it’s nothing?? Do you think it’s a joke?” he begin to raise his voice

Nana looked at him, “I’m sorry oppa…”, she sighed

Kyuhyun sighed, he lifted her chin, planted a quick kiss on her lips, “I thought you’re going to leave me” he said

“Did I scared you? Did I get you this time?” she asked him and grinned

He nodded, “You did”, he ruffled her hair

“Were you sooooooo scared?” she asked him again

Kyuhyun nodded again.

“Why?” she asked him

“Yah! I told you I’m afraid that you’ll leave me” he said, “Weren’t you scared at all?” he asked her back

Nana shook her head lightly, “I told you we’ll be together forever, didn’t I?” she said

“Beside we… we kissed… back then in the ferris wheel” she said and blushed

Cho Residents

Kyuhyun went inside his home, he was so tired, but he didn’t want to go back home before she woke up… he had always been there whenever she had to do any procedure

When he was about to enter his room, Donghae was just went out from his room

“Hyung” he called him, “You didn’t go to the hospital? You do know that Na-yah got admitted 2 days ago right? You didn’t get my message?” he asked him

Donghae stared at him, “How is she?” he asked

“She’s getting better, she’s asking for you” Kyuhyun answered

As Kyuhyun was about to enter his room, Donghae said something that made him stop and freeze. “Considering her boyfriend accompanied her, I don’t think she needs me anymore”

Kyuhyun stopped and turned around, “Hyung?” his eyes widened

Without warning Donghae launched at him, he grabbed his collar and pushed him back to the door. “Cho Kyuhyun,…. You’re shameless!” he said

“Hyu…hyung” he stuttered

“Does she know she was adopted?” Donghae asked him, their faces were so close to each other

“Hyung, let me go first” Kyuhyun said

“Answer me!” Donghae tighten his grip on his dongsheng’s collar

“She does!” Kyuhyun answered

“How?” Donghae narrowed his eyes, “Did you tell her just so you can date her?” he widened his eyes now

Kyuhyun started to push Donghae as well, “Do you think I’m that low??? Huh??? She heard it when Aboji talked to his lawyer”

“Even though that’s the case! Do you think that’s still okay? Huh? Cho Kyuhyun! Answer me! Do you think that makes it okay????” Donghae pulled him closer

“Hyung! Let me go!” he pushed him hard and Donghae fall down to the floor

Kyuhyun sighed, “Hyung…. I didn’t plan any of these to happen… I… I didn’t plan to fall for her” he tried to help Donghae to stand but without warning Donghae landed a punch on his face. Kyuhyun was falling down to the floor, face first.

“Yah! Cho Kyuhyun! How… how on earth you could do that to her… she’s your sister… she is… at least in the name of law… how… how could you do that? She’s too young… Are you crazy????” he was about to go crazy himself

Kyuhyun wiped the blood from his mouth, “Hyung… it’s not what you think” he said

Donghae grabbed his collar again, “Yah! Cho Kyuhyun! Until she’s grown up, don’t! Don’t even think to do anything to her… I’m serious! She’s too young… she’s only 17 good God! She doesn’t know what she wanted yet… she doesn’t even know what she wanted to be when she’s grown up! If you ever touched her… I’m serious… I would kill you!” he said before smashed him to the ground again and slammed the door closed

Donghae went back to his room, panting out of anger… He hated the fact that he is Kyuhyun’s hyung as well…. His heart hurt when he punched his dongsheng… He’s mad at him, both as Nana’s oppa and as his own hyung…

Donghae looked at his phone, there’s a message from his little sister, “Oppa, I’m awake already! Why you’re not visiting me? I miss you… are you mad at me?

He rubbed his face with his palm… What should I do in this situation?

Cho Kyuhyun’s room…

Kyuhyun was sitting on his bed… He traced his lips with his finger, it felt sting when he touched the part where Donghae hit him… He respected Donghae so much, he always think of Donghae as his real hyung… He rubbed his face several times, “I’m sorry hyung”, he murmured several times

He glanced to the side and found the gift from Nana that he hadn’t open yet…. He took the gift and ripped apart the wrapper…. It’s a gaming laptop

Kyuhyun smiled, how hard she must have worked to be able to buy this?… He opened his brief case from Japan, and took out the same exact laptop from his bag that he bought in Japan… He put the laptop in the cupboard, hidden underneath the pile of clothes… He went back to his bed and started to program the laptop that he got from his dongsheng

Back in the hospital

“Oppa… what happened to your face?” Nana asked him when he returned to the hospital

“I…. accidently bumped into a pole” he said avoiding her eye contact

“Really? It looks like someone just punched you” she said touching the blue mark on the side of his lips gently

Kyuhyun grabbed her hand and kissed it lightly and smiled. “Are you worried about me?” he asked

Nana nodded, “Let me kissed it to make it better” she said while kissing the side of his lips gently

Kyuhyun blushed, “Na-yah… eat some more” he tried to spoon her some more food

HUeKkkkkkkkk, she suddenly threw up again for the fourth times that night, her lips are trembling… “I’m tired of eating and throwing up repetitively oppa…” she said weakly

Kyuhyun looked at her, feeling worried that she couldn’t keep anything down

“Just drink this hot tea, it’ll make you feel better” he helped her to drink some tea

“Where’s Donghae oppa?” she asked him, “He hasn’t come to visit me even once…” she pouted

“Hm… Donghae hyung was a bit busy… I’m sure he’ll come soon” Kyuhyun tried to avoid any conversation regarding Donghae

“Ah… I opened my gift” he told her

Nana smiled widely, “really? How was it?” she asked him

“I love it! Thank you Na-yah!” he said

“You want to buy that one right? I knew it! Good thing you haven’t bought one yet” she said excitedly

Kyuhyun rubbed her hair gently, “Thank you!” he said sincerely

 Their faces were so closed to each other when Nana closed her eyes, expecting a kiss…

“Don’t you dare touching her” Suddenly Kyuhyun heard Donghae’s voice in his head… He backed out… He patted her head instead… “I’ll get you some more tea”, He said before disappeared from the room

Nana was stunned… what had just happened?

A couple days later….

“Omma… I’ll be fine… Kyuhyun oppa can help me to go upstair” Nana told her mom when they helped her get into the house

“Just be careful” her dad said while holding back her mom, they’ve been really worried this past couple of days…

Kyuhyun helped her and carried her bridal style. They reached the second floor and found Donghae sitting in front of their room reading the newspaper

“Oppa…!” Nana called him excitedly

“OH, Na-yah!” Donghae smiled when he saw her, Kyuhyun’s face expression harden

“You didn’t visit me even once?” she asked him and pouted. Not realizing the cold air between the two guys

Donghae smiled, “I’m sorry Na-yah, I’m busy, but to make it up to you, I’ll accompanied you as much as you want from now on” he said, walked towards her

“Really?” she asked him, excitedly, “Forever?” she asked

Donghae nodded, “For a starter, you’ll sleep with me tonight” he said reaching to grab her from Kyuhyun

“Huh? I want to sleep with Kyuhyun oppa” she shook her head

“I’m sorry princess, you don’t have any choices!” he said and just grabbed her from him

“Oppa….” she called for Kyuhyun to take her back, but Kyuhyun was only tapping her head, “It’s okay Na-yah… you missed him don’t you?” he asked her before going to his room across from Donghae’s

“Now I have you for myself” Donghae told her and forced a kiss on her cheek

Nana pouted, but then hugged him back, “I miss you!” she said

Donghae put her down on his bed, “Do you want me to read you a bed time story?” He asked her

“Yes!!!!” she got so excited

“Okay, I got one story” Donghae said while lying down next to her, her hair gently

“Once upon a time, there’s a little girl named Nana” he started

“She has the same name as me?” she frowned, “This won’t be good, you’re just trying to lecture me!” she pouted

“Listen to me first” he said, “Nana lived with her two brothers, one day, the King asked her to deliver something to the grandma who lived in the middle of the wood. She took off with her two brothers wearing a red riding hood” he continued

“Isn’t this just a spinoff of little red riding hood, with me and both of you in it?” she still pouted

“Yah! Cho Nana, listen to me first” he tried to persuade her, “In the middle of the journey, the second brother asked her to take the short cut with him, while the first brother wanted to just follow the original path, because he knows that the short cut is dangerous… Nana loves the second brother so much that she doesn’t want to disappoint him, she followed the second brother and leave the first brother. When their half way into their path, the second brother suddenly turned into a wolf, and he ended up eating her…” he said

Nana frowned, “Is that it?” she asked him

Donghae nodded, “The moral of the story is that Nana should never went to the short cut in the first place with the second brother, because someone she thought she knew could be a wolf” he ended the story

Nana sighed, “Is Kyuhyun oppa the wolf?” she asked him

Donghae lifted both of his shoulder, “I don’t know, what do you think?”

“You know, there’s another way to look at it. The reason Nana would follow the second brother is not because she prefer him compared to the first brother. It’s because she knows that the original path was safe for the first brother, so she wanted to make sure the second brother also safe” she said

“Is that mean Nana chose the second brother because she feel pity of him?” he asked her

Nana was stunned, she shook her head, “That’s out of love” she said

Donghae was staring at her, “Na-yah, have Kyuhyunie ever touched you?” he asked her out of the blue

“Touched me?” she looked confused

“Hmm… nothing” he said and hugged her

“Oppa… are you okay?” she asked him

Donghae nodded, “You’re just so precious to me.. don’t let anyone touching you without my permission, okay?” he told her

“Oppa?” she looked worriedly at him

“Nothing…” he said again and kissed her forehead, “Go to sleep” he said
