Her (Book 2)AUTHOR's POV
[Night and Day - Park Eunbin]
So I'm still waiting for you
Like sand and sunlight
You escaped through my fingers
Like the moment two clock hands meet
Our time together was too brief
Countless days and nights
The sun rose and fell a thousand times
But I'm still waiting there
On a night of July 1
I will wait for you
No matter how long it takes
At the end of your long journey
I'll lend you my shoulder
To let you rest
And give you this song
So I'm still waiting for you
My long night has passed
And morning has finally dawned
I wonder when you look at the sky
Do you ever think about me?
Taeyeon sang her heart out leaving people in awe of her voice. She does this every weekend with a live band in her very own restobar.
“Is everyone having a great time?” she asked by the time she finishes the song and the people cheered. “Alright, I'll leave the rest to the band. Please, enjoy the night.”
Taeyeon has always dreamt of having a business like this. Where she could also enjoy. She spent almost four years overall in Japan after she passing her JLPT exams and worked her off to save up and fund her dream business. It wasn't easy, she didn't get to start this business right away – apparently, what she earned within those years wasn't enough since she had to buy a house for herself and a car. She went through hell for another year trying to get loans before she could finally establish this restobar.
She also helps in the kitchen at times when it becomes too crowded. As the owner, Taeyeon has to act when things get hard for her staff. It surely becomes a hassle but at the end of the day, she feels really grateful that people likes coming back in here.
“Excuse me!” a lady sitting alone raised her hand which Taeyeon immediately responded to and as she gets closer, the figure is becoming more and more familiar. “Can I have bottle of your best champagne?” the lady asked with a husky voice.
“Hyeri?” Taeyeon was surprised to see an old friend. “Oh my god, when did you get back?” The tall girl stood up to give Taeyeon a long, tight hug.
“Last week. I've been wanting to visit this place ever since you posted about it on instagram.”
“Of course, you've seen it on your feed.” Taeyeon nodded her head as she state the obvious. “Well, what can I get you, really? It's on me.”
Hyeri shook her head, obviously turning down Taeyeon's hospitality. “You stop it. It's my first visit and you want it to be free?”
“So what?” Taeyeon shrugged her shoulders with a grin on her face. “You just got back, it's the least I could offer you.”
“Nuh-uh.” Hyeri shook her head once more. “How about you join me instead? That, I would agree.”
“Fine.” Taeyeon finally gave up and made her friend take her seat again. “Take your time to order first. I can personally prepare it if you want.”
“Idiot, why do you think I asked you to join me?” Hyeri showed her a displeased expression. “Just sit down and relax, Taeyeon. Let your people do the act. We have a lot of catching up to do.”
“And you're right again.” Taeyeon says.
“When was I ever wrong?”
Hyeri is a colleague she met two years ago when she used to work as a part-timer kitchen staff when she returned to Korea. After her experience in Japan, Taeyeon doesn't really like staying in and doing nothing. She figured she could earn a little more since she gets bored in her house.
“It that I can't be here when this opened.” Hyeri wandered her eyes around as she take a drink of her champagne.
“I know. Well, you're busy so it's understandable.” Taeyeon says. “Why didn't you tell me you're back? You're here for like what? Over a week already?”
