Taehyung kept on looking around the room.

Did something bad happen to her?

Did she wake up late today because of last night?

Did she oversleep?

Where is she? Why hasn’t she come to his class yet?

 

He took another glance at the door waiting for her to come in but it remained closed.

 

She must not be coming today..

 

But where could she be? 

She didn’t cut classes, did she?

 

He sighed as he started to check the students’ attendance.

 

Why does he feel so nervous that he didn’t see her in his class this morning?

Well.. he’s just worried.. perhaps..

It’s because she was at his apartment last night and she looked quite happy spending time with his friends and then suddenly she didn’t show up today..

He doesn’t even have her phone number.. 

 

The class ended two hours later.

Although it felt like he used up all of his energy already..

Why does today feel so gloomy for some reason?

 

He was walking down the hallway when he saw Jisoo’s seatmate approaching.

 

Somi.

 

Should he try asking her about Jisoo? Would she know something?

 

He shyly stopped her making other students talk behind his back.

 

Somi was startled.

She bets Professor Kim doesn’t even know her name yet he stopped her in the middle of the crowd!

She could already see the jealousy of Tzuyu and Mina..

She might have to hide from them from now on!

 

But then she heard another name come out of Professor Kim’s mouth..

 

“Jisoo..” he said softly. 

 

So.. Professor Kim was looking for Jisoo? Is that why he was less focused today in class?

 

“Do you know why she didn’t come today?” Taehyung continued.

 

Somi smiled onesidedly.

Why would he ask for her?

Does he have something going on with that girl?

Then.. she should help him..

 

“She went to her part time job..” she replied quickly.

 

Taehyung’s brows furrowed.

As far as he knows Jisoo has multiple part time jobs..

So which one is it?

 

“At the convenience store near her house..” Somi continued.

 

“I see..” said Taehyung. “Thank you..”

 

Then he left to go to his next class.

 

Convenience store? That one where she drank last time?

 

Is she in need of money again?

Did something happen to her mom? 

 

Wait.. she wouldn’t try to do the same thing she did a month ago, would she?

Jisoo was organizing the last shelf of ramen.

She doesn’t understand why the other kids would come to the convenience store just to mess up everything in here!

 

She looked at the time and it was almost 3 pm..

It’s about time she goes home.. she has been working since 7 this morning and she hasn’t even taken a seat yet..

 

She stretched her back as she went back to the cashier.

Just a little more.. she needs to hang in there just a little more..

 

Working the whole day was tiring but at least, she got to earn some extra money..

 

Her boss called her just this morning begging her to come to work because one of her colleagues was sick and no one could come in her place.

 

Since she has university, her boss offered to pay her double so she agreed immediately!

 

She was still smiling to herself when a customer came to pay.

 

“This chocolate please..” 

 

She lifted her gaze and was startled to find Professor Kim in front of her!

 

“Professor.. Kim? W-what are you-..?”

 

Taehyung folded his arms.

 

“You cut classes today..” he said as his eyes thinned a little.

 

Jisoo’s throat moved fast.

Oh well.. she did.. and working here isn’t an excuse..

 

“I thought you loved history class but I guess you find my lessons boring..” Taehyung said as he looked away from her.

 

Jisoo was totally flustered.

She had never expected to see him here at this time of the day!

Did he finish his classes already? 

 

“No.. I love listening to your lessons!” she said loudly that the other customers turned their heads to her.

 

She covered right away.

 

Taehyung smiled.

 

And seeing that smile, Jisoo understood that Professor Kim was just kidding..

 

She heaved a sigh of relief.

 

“I’m sorry.. I will take Somi’s notes and study hard..” she said still feeling embarrassed.

 

Then her eyes went to the chocolate on the cashier desk.

 

“But.. will you really buy this?” 

 

Taehyung nodded.

 

Jisoo chuckled.

Professor Kim must love pink! Of all of the snacks and chocolates here, he had to buy a pink one!

That’s so cute of him!

 

Taehyung waited until she finished her work.

 

“How are you going to study hard without having listened to the last two chapters?” he asked as they walked side by side.

 

Jisoo’s eyes widened.

 

“Two chapters? Why did you discuss two chapters when I wasn’t there?” she asked complaining.

 

Taehyung chuckled.

 

“Do I need my student’s permission?” he asked facing her.

 

Jisoo stopped.

 

“You did it on purpose, didn’t you?” she asked glaring at him. 

 

Taehyung thinned his eyes.

 

“What if I did?” he asked not backing off.

 

Then Jisoo pursed her lips.

 

“Then I’m doomed..” she said walking with her head lowered.

 

Taehyung followed after her.

 

“I’m going to a library now..” he said softly.

 

Jisoo turned to him.

Library? Right now?

 

“I need some materials for tomorrow’s lesson and I cannot find anything at the university’s library so.. I thought I should go to-..”

 

“You’re going to Starlight Library?” asked Jisoo smiling.

 

Starlight is the biggest library yet to exist in the whole country and she loves going there!

 

She can borrow some good books and return them even after a few months later..

 

That’s the kind of paradise she wants in her life!

 

“Can I come with you?” she asked enthusiastically.

 

Taehyung nodded his head.

He was going to ask her if she wanted to come..

He figured her out well..

Taehyung couldn’t help but smile seeing Jisoo looking happy and amazed..

It kinda feels like she’s out for a walk with his daughter..

She must really like reading books..

Other girls would have loved going to the shopping malls while she’s the only one who enjoys going to a library..

 

“Watch out for flies..” said Taehyung whispering to her. “Your mouth is wide open just so you know..”

 

Jisoo covered with her two hands right away.

She turned to him and rolled her eyes a little.

 

Taehyung chuckled.

She just rolled her eyes at her professor, didn’t she?

 

Then he saw her running towards the history books she likes the most.

 

He didn’t know someone would be this interested in history as well..

Everyone said he was a nerd for loving it but Jisoo seems to be more interested in the subject..

 

“Stay here while I ask something to the staff..” he said before leaving her.

 

“I’ll see you later then..” she said as she started her adventure.

 

She held each and every book.. 

She loves the smell of books.. she must be weird but she finds them really good that she is willing to buy the scent if they ever made a perfume out of it!

 

She took a book and was looking for a place to sit down when she happened to see Professor Kim talking with two girls.

 

Didn’t he say he was going to talk with the personnel here?

 

She stopped on her feet as she held the book tightly on her chest.

 

Who are they? Maybe.. his friends?

The two girls looked beautiful even from behind.. their hair is done prettily and their clothes look expensive even in just a glance..

 

While she’s looking like a potato here..

She should have changed clothes at least!

She’s wearing a plain white shirt that she even used at work!

She must even smell like ramen and gimpab now!

 

She sighed.

 

Then the two girls turned their heads towards her.

 

Jisoo’s eyes widened.

They were Tzuyu and Mina! What are they doing here? Did they follow Professor Kim? Those two are really doing everything they can!

What would they say if they saw her with him?

 

She quickly hid herself behind the bookshelf.

That was close!

She could already see them spreading gossips at the university if they saw her!

 

She sat on the floor.

Reading here will be better.

 

And she started immersing herself into that book..

That she didn’t realize that she has been sitting there for almost half an hour..

 

“You were here all the time?” asked Taehyung as he heaved a sigh.

 

He has been looking for her for a long time!

Didn’t he tell her to remain where she was before because he only had to ask something to the staff?

 

“I thought you went home alone..” he said as he sat down beside her.

 

“I’m sorry.. it’s just.. I saw you talking with Tzuyu and Mina so I hid myself..” she said as she glanced at him.

 

“Why would you hide? Aren’t they your classmates?” asked Taehyung curiously. “Don’t you get along with them?”

 

Jisoo smiled a little.

It isn’t like she doesn’t get along with them but.. they aren’t close.. and she doesn’t want to be.. and they have never talked with each other before.. and..

 

“Pretty girls only hang out with other pretty girls..” she said looking at him. “They wouldn’t want to be friends with someone like me..”

 

Taehyung’s brows furrowed.

Someone like her?

 

“But you’re the prettiest..” 

 

He said it aloud before he knew it.

How could his mouth have a mind of its own? How could he say it without a moment of hesitation?

 

But.. it’s true she’s the prettiest in her class..

She doesn’t wear extravagant clothes.. she doesn’t put on any make up but she manages to stand
