Minho POV: Ch. 05
A Prince in DisguiseMinho
As fast as I can I run through the house. Somewhere behind me I can make out Jonghyun's footsteps, but there are more than Jonghyuns.
How many guards has the stupid tailor stationed here?
I would rather clean the shoes of a rich snob than trust Jonghyun again. Well, not really. But I'll never listen to him again!
It's the same thing every freaking time. It will be quick, he said. We won't be noticed at all he said. After all, we were able to take a few bags of money with us. But he can't get enough and he has to get caught. If the guards won't kill him, I'll do it myse-
An iron pain pierces through me and I stagger backwards.
"What the hell?" I curse out loud, trying to regain my sense of direction. The hand with which I just held my nose shows blood.
"A broken nose is still the mildest thing that awaits you!" I hear a voice snappishly in front of me.
But why does the voice sound familiar? I look incredulously at the girl I freed from a guard's filthy grasp earlier.
It's always the same with the rich. Even when you save them they are ungrateful.
"Run! Run! Run! Run!" I hear Jonghyun's panicked screams.
The girl looks at me in fear.
"You are..." Damn it! We can't get caught now. I have to make a decision, and I have to make it now!
"You will come with me." I decide, snatching the shovel from her and grabbing her wrist. I drag her behind me as I run around the next corner. She has given me an idea I realize.
"Not a sound." I warn her.
With the shovel in one hand and the girl's arm in the other, I wait. She wriggles around quite a bit, but doesn't manage to break free of my grip.
"HELP!" she calls out loudly. Could she get any more annoying?
I hear the first quick footsteps approaching us. Jonghyun wants to keep running but his gaze remains on the girl.
"Princess." Abruptly he stops and puts on a lascivious grin which I can't stand.
More footsteps approach and I hit the guard with the shovel. With a pitiful howl, he sinks to the ground.
"Ouch." Says Jonghyun, his face puckering.
"Did anyone recognize you?" I ask him hastily.
"No." He replies casually but doesn't dignify me with a glance.
"I didn't think fate would bring us together again so soon Princess." I push him towards the street and my annoyed look says it all.
"Let me go!" My head feels like it's about to burst. Her screaming is right at my skull, making it buzz incessantly. Why does she have to ride with me on my horse? Jonghyun prefers women's company more than anyone else.
"You'll regret this!" I've tied her hands behind her back with her scarf, but I should have tied it around because her torrent of words won't stop.
"I already do." I grind under my teeth. Her screaming is unbearable.
"Then let me go!" I tighten my horse's reins and turn to her.
"Will you shut up?"
But I immediately regret my harsh tone. Her eyes somehow seem bigger and her lower lip trembles. Of course she's scared and wants to go home. She's been captured and is a helpless young woman.
"Listen..." now I try in a milder tone.
"You rude bastard!" she nags at me without me being able to finish.
"Bastard?" How could I have fallen for that? It's always the same with rich people. When will I finally learn?
"She's got some fire." Furious, I glare at Jonghyun. How can he be so amused by this?
"Listen!" I now try again.
"We'll let you go, just not now." I want to explain to her.
