Minho POV: Ch. 02

"That's too dangerous." I vehemently reject Jonghyun's suggestion. He sits down energetically next to me on the log. Jinki walks around handing out food to everyone.
"I've been to countless of these festivals. Believe me, this will be a piece of cake." He tries to convince me again.
I trust Jonghyun, after all, he has the most experience in combat as a former Army member. I also know he's the best judge of these people, but one suicide mission is enough for me for now.
Shindong bites into the rabbit meat Jinki has prepared for us.
I've known Shindong the longest. When he was in trouble, I took him in because I still owed him something. He talks with his mouth full, which takes away my appetite a bit.
"Me too. And that's why I know there are guards placed everywhere."
"Drunk guards." Jonghyun immediately counters triumphantly, raising his eyebrows.
My gaze slides over to Lucas, who is sitting across the fire from me, looking at the ground with concern.
"You should eat something." Jinki hands him a wooden bowl and talks to him empathetically. Jinki so doesn't fit into this kind of life I realize again. He is too kind and sincere. I never thought he would be my most loyal companion. He could be at home now and lead a quiet life.
"What if we don't make it in time?" I whisper to Jonghyun. I don't want Lucas to think I'm even considering Jonghyun's insane idea, even though I'm actually interested in it.
"If we leave today, we won't be behind schedule." He assures me.
I have to think. Making a bit of loot on the way to Wayv's prison would be quite helpful. It's just easier to sleep with a heavy bag of money.
