“Eh? Fa...father?” I asked confusedly as I look at him from head to toe as this guy in front of me looks like he is just about the same age as us. “Sir, are you sure? You don’t look like you already have a 17-year-old child.” I told him 

“Uwaah! My baby is sooo kawaii ne?” he exclaimed as he rubs his cheek on mine. Seriously, what is up with this guy? “I am your father, Rein. I missed you so much. I'm sorry if it took us so long to find you.” he said as tears form in his eyes 

“Haruma-san, I think we should head to your house first so you can talk with Rein there.” said Mr. Ice Guy 

“You’re right ne, Kei. I'm sorry, I just got carried away.” he said and smiles “By the way, you guys are all grown up now ne.” he said as he looks at Mr. Ice Guy, Kota, Hikaru and Keito 

“It’s nice to see you again, Haruma-san.” smiled Kota 

“How have you been?” asked Keito 

“You still look good like me, Haruma-san.” laughed Hikaru 

“Geez, I need some catching up with you guys. I know, let us all have our dinner at our house tonight!” he said as he beamed us with smile “Ne, ne, who are these pretty ladies here?” asked the guy named Haruma as he looked at Satomi and Chiaki and smiled at them 

“They’re my friends. We lived together even before grandpa found me.” I said 

“Sugimoto Chiaki desu. Yoroshiku.” bowed Chiaki as she looked at Satomi and elbowed her because she is staring dreamily at Haruma 

“Ah! Sugimoto Satomi desu. Yoroshiku.” Satomi said in her sweetest voice ever, like seriously Satomi? 

“Uwaaah! I’m guessing you’re sisters? So you look after my baby for a while ne. Arigatou.” he smiled at both of them 

“Iie. It is us who owe our lives to Rein-chan. She saved us from the thugs before when we just came here to Tokyo.” said Satomi who looks enthusiastic talking to my so-called father 

“Ehem. I think we should get going now? It's starting to get dark as well.” interrupted Kota, and with that, we went to our house 

 

“Haruma, why did you go to her school? I told you to just wait for her here until she comes back. You must’ve startled her.” grandpa scolded this Haruma guy as we went inside the house 

“Hi grandpa.” I greeted him 

“Good evening, Yuuji-san.” greeted the guys, Satomi and Chiaki 

“Mou~ I can’t wait for her to arrive so I fetched her at school!” pouted Haruma, “It’s been 17 long years that I wasn’t able to see her, to hold her in my arms. You know how I long for my daughter so much, touchan.” said Haruma as he looked at me in sad eyes 

“Ok, ok. I understand. I hope you didn’t startled her so much. Knowing how clingy can you be.” sighed grandpa 

“Did I startled you, baby?” Haruma then turned towards me 

“Eh? Baby?” I scratched the back of my head, “Well, this is so sudden for me ne.” I laughed awkwardly 

“See.” sighed grandpa 

“Uwaaah! Gomen ne, my baby! I didn’t mean to startle you!” said Haruma and hugged me again 

 

“Ne, ne, is Haruma-san THAT clingy?” whispered Hikaru to Kei 

“I don’t know.” sighed Kei 

“Can I apply as Rein-chan's stepmother?” whispered Satomi to Chiaki 

“Geez, neechan. Yamete.” whispered back Chiaki 

 

At the dining table. 

“Yosh! Let's eat! Itadakimasu!” said Haruma as he is so energetic and eats up 

“Anoo, I hope you don’t mind me asking. He is my father, so why on earth will I be the one to take over your company, grandpa?” I asked 

“Ever since we found out that you’re still alive, I said to myself that no one will take over my company than you. Because everything here is yours.” said grandpa 

“Also, I am already managing our business which is based in South Korea. I am also the brand ambassador of the products we are selling ne.” added Haruma 

“Souka. Sugoi ne. We have business which is based in South Korea? So that’s why you looked so popular with students a while ago, maybe they’ve seen your face somewhere on the internet.” I said 

“He is popular because he is handsome, Rein-chan.” added Hikaru 

“I agree.” said Satomi nonchalantly 

“So obvious.” sighed Chiaki at her seat and stuff her neechan’s mouth with beef 

“These kids have great eyes ne.” laughed Haruma 

 

After dinner. At Satomi and Chiaki’s room. 

 

“Rein-chaaaan! May I apply as your stepmother?!” asked Satomi as she attacks me with a hug 

“Eh? What are you saying, Mi-chan?” I asked her 

“She has a crush in Haruma-san, Rein-chan.” sighed Chiaki 

“Ehh?! Do you like older guys?!” I asked in wide eyes 

“I find them mature ne. Plus, Haruma-san is sooo kakkoi!” she squealed at her bed like a fangirl 

“I thought its Kota-kun that you like.” I scratched the back of my head 

“Eh? Kota?” she suddenly froze on her bed 

“Poor Kota-nii, just when he thought that nee-chan and him are getting along and will lead to a happy love life, this girl here is all smitten with older guys than her.” sighed Chiaki 

“Mou! It’s...it’s not like that!” pouted Satomi 

“Geez Mi-chan, I am rooting for you and Kota-kun though!” I laughed 

 

After having some chitchat with Satomi and Chiaki, I went inside my bedroom. I am still not sleepy so I open my laptop and watch some anime when I heard a knock on my door. 

 

“Oh. What brings you here?” I asked when I saw Haruma standing out my door and is carrying a plastic full of foods 

“Anooo. I hope you don’t mind me barging inside your room. I am not yet sleepy so I thought you might want some midnight snacks?” he smiled at me shyly 

“You know what, I am thinking the same as well.” I smiled and let him in. He went inside and puts the foods on my table. There are cup noodles, chocolates, chips, marshmallows, onigiri, steamed buns, juice in different flavors 

“Woah. That's a lot you got there ne.” I laughed as I saw all the foods 

“Gomen, I don’t know what you like so I just bought them all.” he said as he scratched the back of his head 

“I eat anything but vegetables ne!” I said proudly 

“You’re just like me!” he laughs as he ruffles my hair, “I remembered your mom always scolding me whenever she makes me bento before, I always put the vegetable side dish at the side.” he laughed faintly as he reminisces 

“You two must be in love with each other ne.” I said 

“Yes. Yes we are.” he said in a crack voice and I saw his shoulders shaking. Is he crying? 

“Gomen, I'm getting emotional when she’s the topic.” he sniffs and wipes up his tears 

“I am so happy we found you, Rein. I was so devastated when your mother died. It broke me as well when you’re nowhere to be found. It was hard for me but that shed a light in me. That the fact that you’re not in the scene of the accident, means that someone might took you. I just prayed before that whoever that is, is that he will raise you well.” he said as he looks at me in the eyes 

“Ojiichan is very kind at me. He treated me like his own grandchild. He taught me everything that I should learn. I became strong because of him. That is why I managed to survive on my own when he died.” I said 

“I am glad you are safe, Rein. I am so happy that you’re here with us. Now, I feel complete with you beside me.” he smiled and holds my hand 

“I don’t know what you like and dislike. I haven’t seen you when you were an infant, when you were a toddler, and when you started to go to school. But I won’t dwell on regrets, I want us to make memories together, as a father and daughter. Please, let me be a father to you, Rein.” he said sincerely as he looks me in the eyes 

“Hai, papa.” I smiled then I felt his warm hug at me 

“Arigatou.” he smiled brightly, “Ne, can I sleep here tonight?” he added 

“Eh?” I asked dumbfoundedly 

“Onegai. I wanna sleep with my baby.” he said and looks at me in puppy dog eyes 

“Geez. Wakatta, wakatta.” I sighed in defeat 

 

The ray of sunshine gets through my curtain which woke me up. I slowly opened my eyes and was surprised when I saw Haruma, I mean my father sleeping soundly and hugging me. Oh yeah, I agreed to have him sleepover in my bedroom last night. I felt his longing for me, so who am I to break his heart.

“Ohayo, my baby.” he smiled at me 

“O...ohayo. Did I wake you up?” I asked 

“Iie. Ne baby, I want you to get ready. We are going out today.” he said energetically. Geez, how can he be so energetic this early in the morning? 

“Eh? Where are we going?” I asked 

“We’ll gonna have a date ne.” he beamed a smile at me and stood up. “So better get ready now. I'll wait you downstairs ne.” he added and kissed my forehead 

 

Even if I'm still sleepy, I managed to drag myself into the bathroom, take a bath and get ready. After that, I went downstairs. 

 

“We won’t be eating breakfast here ne. I’ll take my baby for a date.” papa said to my grandpa 

“Wakatta. You two take care.” nodded my grandpa 

“Kei, it’s alright if you don’t go with us today.” said papa as he saw Mr. Ice Guy about to go out with us 

“Demo, I need to be with Rein at all times.” Mr. Ice Guy protested 

“Daijoubu. She is with her papa so no need to worry about anything. I won’t let anything happen to my dear baby.” he smiled at me, “Besides, I want to give her a normal date ne. So we’ll just commute for today.” he added then holds my hand as we went out the house 

 

We walked our way to town and decided to grab some breakfast first. 

“Do you like pancakes? I know a good restaurant near here which serves great pancakes.” papa said 

“Hai. Add some bacon please!” I said happily. The thought of foods makes me happy! 

“Wakatta. Bacon it is. Ikou.” he smiled and we went to grab some breakfast 

 

“Uwaaah! They serve huge amount of bacons here!” I said happily and gobbled up my food 

“Slowly ne. We can still order if you want more.” papa chuckled 

“Hontou?! Ureshii na~~” I said happily 

 

Meanwhile, in a bush not far away from the restaurant where Rein and Haruma are eating...

“Why are we hiding here like a spy, Kei?” asked Hikaru in a soft voice 

“Shh. Urusai.” said Kei 

“Omou! It's Rein-chan and Haruma-san!” exclaimed Hikaru as he saw Rein and Haruma happily eating inside the restaurant 

“I told you to be quiet. What are you doing here anyway?!” hissed Kei 

“It’s not my fault that I saw you like a stalker following someone a while ago when I went out the manga store. I got curious so I followed you.” said Hikaru, “So you’re stalking Rein and Haruma-san. Doue?” he asked 

“I...I just want to keep Rein’s safety.” Kei said coldly 

“Safety? But she is with her father. You know that he won’t let anything happen to his daughter, right?” said Hikaru as he saw Kei looking intently at Rein and Haruma happily eating, “Ne, don’t tell me you’re jealous of Haruma-san?!” Hikaru exclaimed which made Kei cover his mouth 

“Urusai! It's not like that!” pouted Kei 

“Then what?” asked Hikaru as he smiled cheekily 

“Mou~~” pouted Kei 

“Geez Inoo! He is her father, for pete’s sake! Why are you jealous of him?!” laughed Hikaru 

“Urusai!” hissed Kei as he whacks Hikaru’s head 

“Ittai! You don’t need to be so violent, jealous guy.” pouted Hikaru as he rubs his head, “Oh! They're coming out of the restaurant! I wonder where are they going next?” he pointed out 

 

“Where do you wanna go next, baby? We have all day today so tell papa what you want.” papa said which made me think for a while 

“Hmm. I wanna go to the amusement park! It's been a while since I last went there ne.” I said 

“Wakatta. Amusement park it is. Ikou.” smiled papa as he holds my hand and we ride a train going to the amusement park 

 

“They’re riding a train!” said Hikaru as they followed Haruma and Rein inside the train but was careful enough not to be seen 

 

At the amusement park. 

“Let’s take a picture, Rein!” papa said as he took out his phone and have our selca at the amusement park’s entrance 

“Kawaii na.” I smiled as I look at the picture 

“Let’s buy tickets now.” papa said as he buys tickets 

 

We ride the different amusement park rides. We started from the least scary ones up to the deadly ones. 

 

“Uwaaaah!” I shouted when a ghost appeared in front of me and papa inside the haunted house 

“Daijoubu, baby. Papa is here.” papa said as he hugs me tightly 

 

On the other hand... 

“UWAAAAH! Go away you ghost!” shouted Hikaru as he hugs Kei tight 

“Oi! Let go of me, Hikaru!” hissed Kei as he tried to shove Hikaru away 

“Why do we need to get in here as well?! We could’ve just waited for them to get out of the haunted house!” shouted Hikaru, still not letting go of Kei 

 

“Are you ok, baby? You got scared a while ago ne.” said papa worriedly as he checks on me 

“Hai. I'm fine, papa.” I smiled and slowly calming down, “Let’s ride that giant roller coaster!” I pointed at the roller coaster which have many loops 

“My baby is adventurous as me ne. Wakatta, let’s ride that!” said papa who is getting more hyped up 

 

We now ride the roller coaster. 

“Woohoo! This is the scariest part ne! We're at the peak!” I shouted 

“Here we go baby! Woohoooooooo!” papa shouted as the ride went down and do a loop 

 

On the other hand... 

“Jumping to my dream...Setsunai kono kokoro de...Fighting for my dream...Taiyou dakishimete” Kei sang as the ride went up, up, up. 

“What are you doing, baka?! Why are you singing like that?!” asked Hikaru as he saw Kei covering his ears with his fingers, “IF YOU’RE AFRAID OF THIS RIDE THEN WHY DID WE EVEN RIDE HERE!” shouted Hikaru as the ride went down and had a loop 

“WAAAAAAAAH!!!” shouted both Hikaru and Kei 

 

Papa and I had so much fun in the amusement park. After riding all the rides, we decided to eat some snacks and have our purikura taken. 

 

“Kawaii na.” I laughed as I saw the edited purikura of us 

“I’ll keep this inside my wallet ne. My first date with my baby.” papa smiled at me and pats my head 

 

On the other hand... 

 

“So...dizzy...” Kei said weakly as he walks in crisscross 

“Baka. You don’t have to ride that roller coaster if you know you get dizzy easily.” scolded Hikaru as he hands a bottled water at Kei 

 

After we left the amusement park, we stopped by at the beach first before grabbing some dinner. 

 

“Did you have fun, baby?” papa smiled at me as he puts his jacket around me and looks at the night sky 

“Hai, papa. Actually, I don’t know the feeling of having a father. I didn’t know that it’s this fun ne. Thank you for taking me out on a date ne.” I smiled at him and felt the cold breeze rub against my cheeks 

“There are still lot more dates for us, baby. I'll make it up to you with all those years that I was not by your side. I'll make sure to have more quality time with you ne. But I wish we can do that by just the both of us. Right, Kei, Hikaru?” said papa which surprised me 

“Eh?” I said confusedly 

“You two thought I won’t know that you’ve been following us since this morning?” sighed Haruma as Mr. Ice Guy and Hikaru went out behind the tree 

“Busted.” said Hikaru 

“Gomen Haruma-san.” said Mr. Ice Guy 

“Why did you followed us?” asked papa 

“Well this guy Haruma-san is--” Hikaru was interrupted when Mr. Ice Guy covered his mouth 

“I am not used not being beside Rein when she goes out. It's like my reflexes ne. Gomen, Haruma-san. Next time, I'll definitely won’t meddle with you and Rein.” said Mr. Ice Guy who looks like a kid that got caught doing something nasty 

“If you want to have a date with my daughter, ask for my permission, ok?” papa chuckled which made me and Mr. Ice guy’s eyes widen 

“It’s...it’s not like that.” Mr. Ice Guy is stuttering 

“Stop acting cool, jealous guy.” laughed Hikaru and Mr. Ice Guy just pouted at his place 

“Geez, these kids. Let's grab some dinner now. My treat.” papa said which made me and Hikaru’s eyes sparkles 

“Yosh!” we shouted in happiness. Because food is happiness.
