Just after the school festival, the life of the four of us who performed had changed. Yes, it’s just the four of us since the other one here, let’s name him Inoo Kei is already used with this kind of stuff. At the locker area. 

 

“Omou!” I said as piles of letters came out of my locker as soon as I opened it 

“You too?” asked Kota as I saw that he faced the same situation I'm in. 

“Me too.” sighed Keito 

“Uwaaah! These girls have good taste ne. Look how many love letters I got! I even have handmade chocolates!” exclaimed Hikaru who is the only one who looks so happy with all of these. 

“Geez. My locker is filled with unnecessary stuff again.” Sighed Kei as he open his locker 

“You got a lot of love letters there eh. You’ll gonna read them one by one?” asked Chiaki in a cold tone as she went at Keito’s locker 

“Eh? No! I don’t have time for that.” Said Keito who looks sweaty as he looks at Chiaki 

“Then what will you do with those then? You’ll gonna keep it?” Chiaki asked and this time, there’s dark aura surrounding her 

“Ehh? No! No! Why will I do that? I’ll gonna throw these away!” said Keito as he gets all the letters and gifts in his locker and was about to throw them then Hikaru blocked him 

“What are you doing, baka! These love letters and gifts are written and made with pure feelings in it! And then you’ll just gonna throw them away! How could you?!” protested Hikaru 

“You do realize I already have a girlfriend, right? So I don’t need all these. I appreciate them but if these will make my girlfriend uncomfortable, then I must decline from all of these.” Explained Keito 

“Wow. Such a loyal boyfriend. Ne Chiaki-chan, you should marry this guy right away after we graduated high school.” Said Hikaru as he smiled cheekily 

“Tss.” Sneered Chiaki as she is clearly blushing with what Keito said and walks away 

“Oi Chiaki! Matte ne!” shouted Keito as he ran after Chiaki 

“You got quite a lot of letters and gifts there, Kota-kun.” Said Satomi as she looks at all the love letters and handmade gifts inside Kota’s locker 

“Yeah. Cleaning these is time consuming though.” Sighed Kota as he gets the letters and gifts from his locker 

“What are you gonna do with those?” asked Satomi as I saw her raised an eyebrow 

“I don’t know ne. I think I’ll gonna share these chocolates with you guys. Do you want one, Sato-chan?” Kota asked and hand a chocolate bar at Satomi 

“And why would I want something like that?! I don’t like chocolates!” exclaimed Satomi as she dashed out of the locker area 

“Eh?! I thought you love chocolates? This one is mint choco though!” shouted Kota as he ran after Satomi 

“How about you, Rein? Aren’t you gonna get jealous on Kei’s love letters and gifts?” asked Hikaru as he nudged me 

“Eh? Why would I? I also have letters and gifts so why would I get jealous?” I asked and scratched the back of my head “I still need to clean my locker though.” I pouted and get all the letter and gifts from my locker 

“If you don’t want the chocolates, I’m willing to take it!” said Hikaru 

“Nah~ keeping them!” I said and stick my tongue out to him 

 

During lunch break, Hikaru and I decided to go to the canteen to buy some foods. Yep, it’s just the two of us since a teacher asked for Kei to the faculty room. 

 

“Uwaaah! Look at that chocolate cake” I was so happy with the sight of the cake that was in the glass counter 

“That looks yummy. I’ll gonna buy the blueberry cheesecake.” Said Hikaru “Ne, speaking of cakes, these reminds me that Kei’s birthday will be this Saturday ne.” said Hikaru 

“Ehh?! That guy has a birthday?!” I laughed hard 

“Geez. You like teasing him aren’t you?” chuckled Hikaru 

“Hai. So what are we going to do for his birthday?” I asked 

“Nothing.” Said Hikaru flatly 

“Ehh? Nothing?! But why?!” I asked in wide eyes 

“Kei never celebrated his birthday. He hates it.” Said Hikaru 

“Why?” I asked 

“Because it was the same date when his parents left him to go to the states for good because of business matters. His parents never really cared for him. All that took care of him was his grandpa. That’s why he became close with your grandpa.” Said Hikaru 

“I didn’t know Kei had such sad experiences ne.” I uttered 

“Hai. That’s why he never celebrated it since then.” Said Hikaru 

“We must make his birthday a memorable one. Memorable in a good way ne!” I said 

“Eh?” uttered Hikaru 

“We will celebrate his birthday this year.” I said with determination in my eyes 

 

At the mansion. 

“Mi-chaaaaan! Teach me how to bake a cake!” I said as I barged inside Satomi and Chiaki’s room 

“Eh? Why?” asked Satomi 

“I just learned that Kei’s birthday will be on Saturday. So I want to bake a cake for him.” I said 

“Ehh? Going on the extra mile just for Kei ne. Tell us, what’s the real score between you two?” Chiaki teased me 

“Nothing. I just want to make his birthday this year special because I also learned that it is also his saddest day because that’s the same day when his parents left him to go to the states for good.” I told them which made them a bit sad 

“Wakatta. Let’s all make Kei’s birthday this year a special one ne.” smiled Satomi 

 

We started to plan for Kei’s birthday the next day. We managed to planned without him by the help of Keito. Since he is the president of the music club wherein Kei is also a member, he asks all the members to practice by lunch time and that’s when we plan. Satomi keeps on teaching me how to bake a cake. 

 

“Ah! Itte!” I shouted as I dropped the baking pan 

“Careful ne. Lemme see.” Said Satomi as she checks my hand 

“Let’s put cream on this ne. So it won’t get worst.” She said 

 

Days passed by and it is now Saturday. Satomi, Chiaki and I met with Hikaru, Kota and Keito at the park. We’re all ready with our assigned tasks. We then went at Kota’s rest house and upon arriving we started decorating the living room. Satomi and Chiaki started cooking and I started to bake the cake as well. The boys helped with decoration and gifts. It is now surprise time. 

 

Hikaru called Kei. 

“Hello, Kei! Hurry! Rein is…” he said in a panic voice. This guy can make a good seiyuu ne, “Hai! Here is the address.” He added and gave the address of Kota’s rest house 

 

After not less then 30 minutes, our birthday boy arrived. 

“REIN!” he shouted and bangs open the door 

“OTANJOUBI OMEDETTO KEI!” we shouted as Keito and Hikaru popped the poppers which made Kei in total shock 

“What the…” Kei uttered 

“What do you mean what the? It’s your birthday today and we’ll gonna celebrate it!” said Hikaru as he put a party hat on Kei’s head 

“So what are you doing there? The foods that these ladies prepared will get cold. Ikou!” smiled Kota as he drags Kei at the dining area 

“You don’t need to do this. You know I don’t celebrate my birthday.” Kei smiled faintly 

“But these are all Rein-chan’s idea.” Said Keito 

“I hope you like the food that we prepared ne.” smiled Satomi as she passed the pasta onto Kei 

 

“Let’s give him our presents!” said Hikaru 

“Here’s my present.” Said Chiaki as she gave a box to Kei. Kei unwraps it and a reed diffuser and essential oils was seen inside the box 

“I hope it will help you have a relax sleep. I personally did the essential oil ne.” smiled Chiaki 

“Arigatou.” Smiled Kei 

“Here’s mine.” Said Keito as he gives his present at Kei which contains a vinyl piano music from Kei’s favorite pianist 

“Here’s mine ne.” smiled Kota as he gives a paper bag to Kei with a cap in it since Kei likes to wear caps 

“And here’s mine.” Said Satomi as she hands him a paper bag as well with a sweater in it. 

“Yosh! My turn!” said Hikaru as he drags me toward Kei 

“Oi!” I protested 

“Rein-chan is my present to you!” said Hikaru with a cheeky smile 

“Urusai baka!” Kei and I said in perfect sync 

“Geez geez. Wakatta wakatta. Here’s my present.” Hikaru said as he gives Kei a box with our framed picture in it 

“What’s that?!” I exclaimed 

“You said we can give anything ne. I can’t afford to give you to him so I just took a moment of you two and put it in a frame.” Said Hikaru 

“Baka.” Chuckled Kei 

“Anooo. Gomen. I don’t have a gift.” I said and look down 

“Eh? But this is your idea Rein-chan.” Said Hikaru 

“I…I forgot to buy one since I was kinda busy. Gomen.” I laughed faintly 

“Daijoubu. Knowing that you planned for this is fine.” Smiled Kei 

“Let’s just eat the cake that Rein baked!” said Kota then the cake was brought out. We sang Kei a happy birthday and ate the cake right after. 

“Oishii!” smiled Kei 

“Hai! You did a good job here, Rein-chan.” Smiled Satomi 

“Bake one for me too!” pouted Hikaru 

“Wait for your birthday.” Laughed Keito 

 

We played birthday games all afternoon and lit our sparklers when it started to get dark. We decided to spend the night at the rest house. When everyone is asleep. 

 

“Rein, you’re still up.” Said Kei as he went near me. He must’ve gone to the kitchen since he have a glass of water in his hand 

“I can’t sleep ne.” I said as I sit at the stairs of the veranda and feeling the night air 

“Arigatou.” Said Kei as he sits beside me 

“What for?” I asked 

“For planning all this. And for baking my birthday cake. You got yourself hurt in doing so.” He said and holds my hand. Then he noticed I got something in my hand “What’s that?” he asked 

“Oh! This? Anooo. Nothing.” I laughed nervously and tried to hide my hand at my back 

“You know that when you say it at that tone it makes me morw curious. What is it?” he asked again as he tries to get my hand 

“It’s nothing. Really!” I protested but he still managed to get what’s inside my hand. A skateboard keychain with Kei’s name was what he got out of my hand 

“This is.” He uttered 

“It’s not true that I don’t have a gift for you. That’s actually my gift for you. I was just shy to give it a while ago because what they got you are all nice and expensive while all I got is that.” I said as I look down 

“Arigatou. This is wonderful ne. I appreciate this Rein.” He smiled at me and he looks happy with my simple gift 

“Geez. You don’t have to pretend that you like it.” I laugh 

“But I do like it! I’ll treasure this Rein.” He said and smiled at me “Ne, I also got something for you.” He said 

“Eh? It is your birthday but you’re the one who got something for me?” I asked 

“Hai. This.” He said and the next thing I knew is that he left a kiss at my cheek 

“Arigatou, Rein.” He smiled and I felt my cheeks blush
