Days had passed and Rein is slowly getting used with her new life. As what her grandfather said, Rein, together with Satomi and Chiaki were enrolled at Kigyoya High, a private school for future businessmen and women. Almost all the children of the businessmen in Tokyo goes here to study. The said school also has a Junior High and a University. 

 

This is our first day in school. Finally, I am back to school. I stopped after the end of my first year because ojiichan died and I became busy with part time work to save for me to get back to school. All I want is to get back to school and finish even just senior high, but I got more. I can’t believe I will be able to attend a private school. Sugoi! 

 

I was surprised when the limo is waiting for us at the driveway. What I really had in mind is that we’re walking on our way to school just like what normal students would do. I forgot that we’re not that normal students. We hopped inside the limo and it went off. As soon as we got at the driveway of our school, I literally had my jaw dropped. Is this a school or the royal household?! Bushes and pine trees will welcome you as you enter the school’s long driveway. There are buildings on both sides and a wide building will be seen at the end of the driveway. I was so amazed how the school looked so clean and peaceful. The car stopped in front of the school building’s entrance and Mr. Ice Guy opened the door for us. We went out the car and I looked around. This school is beautiful! 

“Rein-chan, daijoubu?” asked Chiaki as she noticed me spacing out 

“Oh. Ah, hai.” I said as I went back to reality “Don’t mind me, I am just amazed by how beautiful this school is. This is my first time going in an exclusive school since I used to go to a public school. It's refreshing not to see any vandals at the walls.” I laughed as we went inside the school building and the students here are like regal! Everyone is prim and proper, unlike in my old school wherein students run at the school corridors and vandalizing the school’s property. 

“Daijoubu, you’ll get used to this kind of environment ne.” Satomi said as she smiled at me reassuringly 

“Hai. Good thing I have you two ne. I don’t think I can make friends easily at this school since all the students looks like they’re busy with their own business.” I said as I looked around us 

 

“Oi! Kei!” I heard someone called Mr. Ice Guy’s name and saw a guy with a blonde hair running towards us. I see this is not a very strict school after all, students can dye their hair. With him are two other guys; one is in an auburn brown hair and is the tallest among the three of them, I saw him smiled at Kei then looked at Satomi surprisingly. The other one is a bit smaller than those two and looks like a gym buff because of the muscles he has. The sleeves of his uniform almost get ripped off because of his arm muscles.  

“Oh, Hikaru. Ohayo.” said Mr. Ice Guy as he saw the blonde guy running 

“My morning is nothing compared to you ne! How can you be a sly and go to school together with these lovely ladies?” the blonde guy elbowed Mr. Ice Guy at the side and then smiled at us. 

“Geez. Will you stop blabbering. This is Rein, Yuuji-san's granddaughter, and they are Satomi and Chiaki, her friends.” Mr. Ice Guy introduced us to Hikaru 

“Yoroshiku.” the three of us greeted him 

“Yaotome Hikaru desu! Uwaaah! So you’re Yuuji-san's granddaughter! Kawaii!” said Hikaru as he stares at me 

“I like your hair.” I smiled at him 

“Uwaaah! I see you have great taste ne? May I call you Rein-chan?” he asked me 

“Hai.” I smiled 

“Satomi? Chiaki?” the tallest guy said as he approached us 

“Kota. It's been a while.” said Satomi 

“Hi Kota-nii.” smiled Chiaki 

“Ehh? You know the both of them?” asked Hikaru in surprise 

“Hai. They’re my classmates when we were in middle school.” explained the guy named Kota 

“Uwaah! Sugoi ne! You already know someone here.” I told Satomi and Chiaki 

“Well, they most probably know the other students as well who attended the middle school branch of Kigyoya High.” said Kota 

“Hai. We went in the same school as Kota.” said Satomi 

“Let me formally introduce myself, Yabu Kota desu. The student council president of our school. If you have any concern, especially you Rein-chan, since you’re new in our school, don’t hesitate to ask us.” smiled Kota and his eyes disappeared 

“So, you’re the kaichou now?” chuckled Satomi 

“Hai, former kaichou.” laughed Kota 

“Ne, what are they talking about?” I whispered at Chiaki 

“Neechan was the former student council president when we were in middle school and Kota-nii was the vice president.” explained Chiaki as she looks at the gym buff guy who was beside Mr. Ice Guy 

“Ne, Keito, why don’t you introduce yourself to these ladies.” nudged Hikaru to the gym buff guy 

“Ah, gomen. How rude of me. Okamoto Keito desu, yoroshiku.” said Keito in a manly voice and bowed at us. I can still see Chiaki staring at Keito. 

“Ne, ne, Kei. So she is the one you’re guarding?” asked Hikaru with a cheeky smile at his face 

“Yeah. And so?” asked Mr. Ice Guy coldly 

“Betsuni~~ I was just amazed that you did as you promised to Yuuji-san. Ne Rein-chan, is this guy also cold towards you?” asked Hikaru 

“Hmm. Hai! As cold as ice.” I laughed 

“Omou~~ he is always like that. Please be patient with him, he might look socially inept but he is a nice guy, I must say.” laughs Hikaru 

“Oi! Stop blabbering about me and let’s go to our homeroom. The bell just rang.” sneered Mr. Ice Guy and off he went 

“Cold as ice.” both me and Hikaru said in perfect sync as we both laughed 

 

At homeroom. 

 

“Ok class, please be seated. You will be having new classmates. Please introduced yourselves.” Sensei said as he turned at us 

“Sugimoto Satomi, yoroshiku.” bowed Satomi 

“Uwaah! Sato-chan! It's good to see you again.” one of the students said 

“Kaichou~~” chanted another one. Woah, Satomi is quite popular than I thought. Students still see her as their kaichou from middle school. She must’ve done a good job before. 

“Sugimoto Chiaki desu, yoroshiku.” said Chiaki as she bowed 

“We have Chiaki-chan back! Our Chem club will be reborn once again.” commented one student 

“Fukuyama Rein desu, yoroshiku.” I smiled at them and bowed as well 

“Uwaah! Kawaii na~~” said one of the guys in class 

“Oi! Don’t try to make a move on Rein-chan.” warned Hikaru as the guy gulped and quiets down 

“Ok, please take the vacant seats and we will start homeroom.” said Sensei 

 

Lunchtime. 

 

“Ne Rein-chan, you want me to tour you around our school?” asked Hikaru 

“Hai! I think I really need some tour because I might get lost if I walk outside because this school is so huge!” I laughed and stood up “Mi-chan, I'll just gonna have some school tour ne. Where’s Chi-chan though?” I asked as I looked for Chiaki 

“She must’ve bought food or went to the music room. Have fun ne!” smiled Satomi as she was talking with Kota 

“Wakatta. Ikou, Hikaru!” I said as we were about to leave the room then I saw Mr. Ice Guy followed us 

“You’ll come too?” I asked Mr. Ice Guy 

“Of course. I'm your bodyguard, I should be beside you at all times.” he said coldly 

“Omomou~~ such an icy guy we have here. Plus, you don’t need to worry because Rein-chan is with me. I don’t think nothing will happen to her inside our school.” pouted Hikaru 

“That’s why I need to be beside her since you’re with her.” said Mr. Ice Guy and went out 

“Oi! What’s that supposed to mean?!” shouted Hikaru as he ran behind Mr. Ice Guy and annoyed him 

 

 

“So how are you? Haven’t heard anything from you after we graduated middle school.” said Kota as he and Satomi are eating their lunch 

“Oh. Well, shortly after our graduation in middle school, our parents died in a plane accident. All the investors in our company pulled out upon hearing the news leaving our company bankrupt. We have no other relatives so an orphanage took me and Chiaki. But life there was tough to we decided to escape from that orphanage and go here to Tokyo. That's when we met Rein because she saved us from bad guys. We lived together until Rein’s grandfather found her, she asked him to let us stay at their household as well and fortunately, Yuuji-san agreed. That's why we were able to enroll here now.” Satomi narrated which took Kota by surprise 

“I...I didn’t know you went through a lot after our graduation. I am very sorry for your lost.” said Kota who still looked surprised and sad 

“Daijoubu, we are learning to slowly move forward with our life now.” smiled Satomi 

“Ne, you said Rein saved you from bad guys? How did that happen?” asked Kota in confusion 

“Let’s just say that Rein is not your ordinary girl.” smirked Satomi as she drinks her juice 

 

 

Keito was walking back from the canteen when he heard a faint music coming from the music room. The melody was so soothing that he was not able to help himself to check who is making that melody. He peeked inside and saw Chiaki playing an acoustic guitar. Chiaki heard the sound of the door which made her stopped playing and looked who came in. 

 

“Oh. Gomen, I didn’t mean to disturb you.” said Keito as he scratched the back of his head 

“Do you like music as well?” asked Chiaki 

“Hai. I play the guitar too.” smiled Keito, “Is that your own composition?” he added 

“Hai. I'm just practicing if I still remember the keys since I made this song when I was about to graduate middle school.” said Chiaki as she starts to strum the guitar once again 

“Nice melody.” smiled Keito 

“Ka..kakkoi.” thought Chiaki while staring at Keito 

 

 

“So this is where the library is.” said Hikaru as we passed by the library 

“It’s ok not to mention this one. I will never go here anyway.” I laughed 

“Me too! And when I do, I'll just get some sleep.” laughed Hikaru 

“Do you really need to influence her with bad thoughts, Hika?” asked Mr. Ice Guy 

“What did I do wrong? You heard her, like me, she will never go inside the library!” pouted Hikaru 

“This school is so big ne! I think I need to familiarize myself in a week just to memorize each place. My former school was like only one-fourth of this school ne. Also, this looks like a safe place ne.” I said 

“What do you mean looks safe?” asked Hikaru in confusion 

“Back on my former school, when you walk along the hallways or at the school grounds, you will often see students having fights ne.” I laughed as it sounded so normally to me 

“Ehh?! Fight?!” exclaimed Hikaru “Where was your former school?” he added 

“I attended at Shinjo High during my first year in high school then I stopped at the middle of the school year when my ojiichan, the one who took care of me died.” I told him 

“Shi...Shinjo High?! It's like an infamous school for delinquent students!” said Hikaru as he covered his mouth when he realized what he said “Gomen! I didn’t mean you’re delinquent!” he said while panicking 

“You blabber too much Hikaru. Let's just continue the tour.” sighed Mr. Ice Guy 

“Daijoubu Hikaru.” I laughed and now we enter the school’s gym 

“Oh. So the volleyball team is taking their practice ne.” said Hikaru as we saw a practice game of volleyball inside the gym 

“Kyaah! Kei? Is that you? Uwaaah! It is you!” a girl squealed upon seeing Mr. Ice Guy enter the gym. She immediately left her spot at the court even if the game is ongoing and ran towards Mr. Ice Guy 

“We shouldn’t have gone here.” sighed Mr. Ice Guy 

“Ne, who is she?” I whispered at Hikaru 

“Yamazaki Harumi, female volleyball team’s captain. She had a huge crush on Kei.” whispered back Hikaru 

“Oh. Sou.” I nodded and watched Mr. Ice Guy and Harumi 

“Did you come to watch me?” Harumi said in her most sweetest tone 

“No. We're taking Rein for a school tour since she is new here.” said Mr. Ice Guy. He is extra cold this time that even Elsa of Frozen will be bothered by the coldness this guy is emitting 

“Ehh? Rein?” uttered Harumi as she looked at me from head to toe “Hikaru is here so why don’t you leave them both and stay here for a while to watch me?” said Harumi as she is now pulling the sleeves of Mr. Ice Guy 

“I can’t leave Rein.” said Mr. Ice Guy which took Harumi by surprise 

“But why?! Are you her boyfriend or something?!” asked Harumi irritably 

“I am her personal bodyguard; I should be by her side at all times.” said Mr. Ice Guy “Now, if you’ll excuse us. I believe you still have a practice game to play.” said Mr. Ice Guy as cold as ever then he walks out the gym. Me and Hikaru immediately followed him 

“What the?! Did he just walked out?! And bodyguard?! How did that girl manage to get Kei as her bodyguard?! The school’s prince is just somebody’s bodyguard?!” Harumi exclaimed in anger 

 

 

“Woah Mr. Ice Guy, what was that all about?” I started talking as we were now outside 

“What did you called him? Mr. Ice Guy?” laughed Hikaru “Jack Frost could do too.” he added laughing 

“Urusai.” said Mr. Ice Guy as he seems annoyed 

“I think that was rude of you Mr. Jack Frost. You shouldn’t be talking to a girl like that.” I said 

“You know nothing so keep yourself out of my business.” Mr. Ice Guy sneered at me and walks ahead of us 

“HA! This guy here has attitude eh! Now get back here and be ready to face your death!” I shouted as I was about to grab Mr. Ice Guy at the collar, good thing Hikaru stopped me “Please don’t, Rein-chan. Please spare his life. Let's leave that guy alone first. He needs to calm himself down.” whispered Hikaru as he silently dragged me away from there 

 

“Eh? Where are we going? Why are we heading outside the school?” I asked 

“Let’s go to a café ne. You might cool your head there.” winked Hikaru 

“Ehh? Are you telling me we’re gonna cut classes?!” I asked in wide eyes 

“Daijoubu, the next class after lunch is self-study since I heard that the teachers will be having a meeting after lunch. We'll get back before class dismissal.” winked Hikaru and we get out of the school in a gate that was behind a thick bush 

“You always cut class, right? You even know this place!” I said 

“Shhh.” Hikaru said and dragged me towards a café which is a bit far away from our school 

 

“Let’s go back to class--” Kei was interrupted as he looked at his back and Rein and Hikaru are gone “What the?! Where did they go?!” Kei hissed and searched for Rein and Hikaru. He searched all over the school but no trace of Rein and Hikaru. He was walking at the hallway when he heard two students talking 

“I am envious of Yaotome-san ne. Looks like he is already close with the new student, I saw him dragging her at our school garden” said one of them 

“Yeah. I want to get close to her as well, she looks so cute.” flailed the other one 

 

“School garden? Could it be. That jerk!” thought Kei as he ran towards the garden and saw the bush wherein Rein and Hikaru passed by looked as if someone just went behind it 

“I knew it! That jerk! What is he thinking?! Tsk.” Kei went out the school through that bush and searched everywhere. “Ok, so they can go to places within this radius.” Kei said as he calculated how far Rein and Hikaru can go 

 

At the café. 

“Their cakes are good ne!” I said as I gobbled the last piece of my chocolate cake 

“I knew you would like here.” smiled Hikaru as he sips his frappe 

“Why did we cut classes? This is my first day at school and I cut class.” I laughed and sip my frappe as well 

“I’m just playing prank with Kei. He was harsh to you a while ago. Now come and find us.” Hikaru laughed 

“Ehh? I don’t think he will find us ne. I think he will get back to class and just self-study.” I laughed 

“Oh, believe me Rein-chan. Believe me.” Hikaru smirked then as if he can see the future, I saw Mr. Ice Guy went inside the café 

“Mr. Ice Guy?!” I said in surprised 

“What do you think you’re doing Hikaru?! This is her first day at school and you dragged her to cut class?!” Mr. Ice Guy said, he looks enraged 

“Calm down Kei. Here, have a frappe. Why are you so angry? We don’t have classes now since all the teachers are in a meeting. So chillax.” said Hikaru casually 

“What if something happened to Rein? Who will take responsibility for her?” Mr. Ice Guy is still enraged 

“Relax Mr. Ice Guy, we just had some cakes and frappes. We're fine. We’re about to go back as well.” I said 

“I took her here for her to calm down. How can you be so harsh on her a while ago? She was just concern but you told her harsh stuff. Geez Kei!” said Hikaru which made Mr. Ice Guy frozen at his seat 

“So before scolding us, I think you should think about if what you’ve done to Rein a while ago is right.” Hikaru added 

“Gomen, Rein.” Mr. Ice Guy said as he looked at me, “I didn’t mean it.” he added 

“Ah...daijoubu.” I uttered as it caught me off-guard 

“Yosh! Let's go back now. Classes are almost done.” said Hikaru as he smiled cheekily 

 

As we went back in class, good thing the teachers are not yet done meeting. 

 

“So where did the three of you came from?!” scolded Kota as he saw us took our seats. Good thing everyone’s busy doing their own business that they didn’t noticed us as we enter our classroom 

“Ask this guy.” said Hikaru and Mr. Ice Guy in perfect sync as they both pointed at each other 

“So who will really gonna answer me?! Aish! Good thing we have self-study for today or else you’re all doomed! I don’t think I can bail you out of the teacher’s scolding once someone knew you cut classes!” exclaimed Kota like a father 

“Geez, Kota. You're like an otousan scolding your children.” laughed Satomi 

“Look who’s talking? You're like this as well back in middle school.” laughed Kota 

“Ehh?! I am not!” exclaimed Satomi 

“Yes, you do.” laughed Kota as he sticks his tongue out and tease Satomi 

And with that, the student council president forgot that he was just lecturing us for cutting classes.
