Hari sighs as she puts the box down, her hand clenched into fist as she gently smacked the back of her waist with her other hand pinning in the passcode to the expensive door in front of her. Hearing the unlocking sound, Hari takes a deep breath and lift the box again, pushing the door with her shoulder as she makes her way inside the huge penthouse. Her eyes widen in amusement once she saw how clean and tidy the penthouse is but it doesn't surprised her knowing that the guy said he's barely home. 

"Hun's room is upstairs, on your left."

Hari turns to look at her future mother in law who's the complete opposite of her future husband. Her future mother in law is very beautiful and classy but definitely down to earth once she first saw her during the dinner last night. She didn't expect her to join them since her father only mentioned the president and his son, but it's a good thing that she was there last night. Smiling towards the older woman, Hari nods and makes her way upstairs. Putting her box down, she could hear her future mother in law's voice bursting throughout the penthouse and a few movers then gets inside the room too, putting on the other few boxes and bags. After thanking them, Hari went downstairs to her mother laughing over something with her future mother in law on the couch,

"Hari, I need to go now because my shift will start in another 2 hours time."

"Mom, I told you to take a leave today.."

"Sorry, pumpkin, your Aunty Juyeong's daughter is giving birth today so there's not enough staff."

Hari sighs as she whines and hugs her mother, being the youngest child in the family, Hari is used to being pampered and treated like a baby that even until that very moment, she's still clinging to her mother, making her future mother in law who's watching her laughs,

"Come on, Hari. Let your mother go, she can come here everytime she wants."

Hari sighs, pouting as she looks up at her mother. Her mother smiles and pinches her cheek,

"I'll miss you pumpkin."

"I'll miss you too, mom."

Hari snuggles on her mother's neck, taking in her mother's scent for the last time before she let her leave. 

"I love you, pumpkin."

"I love you too, mom. Text me when you've arrived."

Her mother hums and waves towards her and her future mother in law with a huge smile on her face, but Hari's pretty sure she saw some tears b in her eyes. Her mother's always like that, she prefers crying alone and keeping things to herself rather than sharing them with her duaghters and husband. She's a very strong woman whom Hari looks up to. 

"Come on, little pup, I have something to tell you."

Hari closes the door and purses her lips as she follows behind her future mother in law who's walking towards the dining table in the kitchen, seeing her taking a seat on the stool, Hari pulls the stool in front of her and sits too, playing with her fingers as she waits for the older woman who's looking for something from her expensive handbag to speak.

"Here, look at this."

Hari arched her eyebrows and leans in to look at the picture on the table, she frowns when she saw it's a picture of Sehun with a very pretty girl beside him. The him in the picture looks so much different from the him she met yesterday. There's a huge smile plastered on his face and the way his eyes turned into crescent in the picture... He looks alive, so alive and so happy. 

"The girl beside my Hun is Joohyun, his girlfriend."

Hari's mouth wide open as she looks up at the older woman in front of her who has a smile on her face but there's that sad look that makes Hari feels like something's not right despite the happiness that the two's showing in the picture. 

"He was a very cheerful kid, the one who'll always have something under his sleeves to tease the people around him.. Until that day, the day that took everything away from him.. That's what he thought.."

Hari takes her future mother in law's hand in hers, gripping it tightly as she flashes an assuring smile towards her to let her know that it's okay to cry and that she'll listen to whatever she has to say,

"It was his 22nd birthday and his father got him a sports car as a gift. You know boys and their loves for cars."

Hari nods, smiling, eyes never leaving her future mother in law's face,

"He brought Joohyun out for a drive, obviously but then they got into a small fight in the car.. That's what he told me when he was drunk.. The sober Hun will never talk about this, even to me and his father, he's tight lipped when it comes to this. They got into a small fight so Hun stopped the car to get out and gets her an ice cream to calm her down.. And that's when the accident happens.. Another car comes colliding with his car that's parked beside the road while he was choosing the ice cream for her..."

Hari could feel her eyes teary as she purses her lips,

"Joohyun was inside the car.. She..."

Hari could see the older woman in front of her is trying to calm herself and she knows what to expect next,

"She died right at that moment.. When they pulled her out, she's no longer breathing and Hun never stops blaming himself ever since that day. He locked himself inside his room, isolating himself from everyone, refused to eat and drink anything. I was so closed to blame Joohyun for turning my always cheerful son into someone he's not but I believe there must be a reason for everything that happened."

Hari nods, her hand patting the older's hand,

"Then his brother came back from New York, barging into his room and knocked some sense into his head. Then only he started coming out to us again, even though he's not my old Hun but I'm grateful that he's coming back to us and starts learning on taking over our family's business.
