Apartment 3-B:

Naeun: What happened here?

Hayoung: Uh… Nothing.

Naeun: This doesn’t look like nothing.

Hayoung: I’ll clean it all up. I promise.

             Namjoo and I just went a little…

Naeun: Crazy?

Hayoung: Pretty much. I’ll start cleaning right now.

Naeun: Eunji is going to be home any second and you’re going to start cleaning right now?

Hayoung: Well… I was hoping you would help?

Naeun: How would I even help? I don’t know where to start.

Hayoung: You just need to stuff everything into my room and I’ll figure it out from there.

Naeun (sighs): … 

             Okay.

Naeun begins throwing the fallen clothes and objects into Hayoung's room. Hayoung runs the water to wash dishes.

Naeun: Oh my gosh.

Hayoung: What?

Naeun: Oh my gosh.

Hayoung: WHAT?

Naeun: There’s a stain in the couch.

Hayoung (shrugs): It’s okay. Eunji won’t notice.

             She didn’t even notice when you spilled a whole bottle of hot sauce last week.

Naeun gives her a look but it only lasts for a second.

Naeun (shrugs): You’re probably right.

Hayoung: This place will look as good as new once I finish these dishes.

Naeun: How much did you guys eat?

Hayoung: Probably too much?

Naeun: Did you break this vase?

Hayoung: Uh… I’ll sweep that up.

Naeun: This is a disaster.

The front door beeps. Hayoung and Naeun kick away the last obvious remnants of Namjoo and Hayoung's night.

Eunji (wearily): Hey guys.

Hayoung (nervously): Hey unnie.

             How was your day?

Eunji: It was okay…

             Wait a second… 

Hayoung: What is it? Is something wrong?

Eunji: Something feels different.

Naeun: Different?

Eunji: Yeah…

             Maybe it’s because Hayoung is out of her room for once.

Naeun (nervous laughter): Yeah, that’s a miracle.

Eunji: No, I don’t think that’s what it is.

Naeun: You don’t? 

Eunji: Oh! I know what it is!

Hayoung: W-What?

Eunji: You guys cleaned the apartment!

Naeun: What?

Hayoung steps on Naeun's foot.

Hayoung: Of course!

             You’re home so late after such a long har–

Eunji: Oh, cut it out. I know you had someone over.

             You wouldn’t clean for no reason.

Naeun: She’s not easy to fool.

Eunji (laughs): Who did you have over?

Hayoung (sheepishly): Just Namjoo.

Naeun: Somehow they managed to make the apartment messier than it already was.

Eunji: Shocking.

Hayoung: You’re not upset?

Eunji: Why would I be upset?

             The place literally got cleaner.

Naeun: She makes a good point.

Eunji: So did you succeed in making progress?

Hayoung: Progress?

Eunji: In confessing.

Naeun: It’s two AM, Eunji. Aren’t you tired?

Eunji (sniffles): I am.

Hayoung: Then maybe we should talk about this when you’ve gotten rest.

Naeun: Hayoung and I can stop by the chicken place during lunch.

Eunji: Actually, I’ll be starting a new job so I won’t be there.

Hayoung: A new job?

Naeun: Why didn’t you tell us?

Eunji: It’s nothing big and I’ll still be making chicken deliveries over the weekend.

Hayoung: So it must pay more than Mr. Gak.

Eunji bites her lip as she goes deep into thought.

Eunji: It does.

Naeun: What job is it?

Eunji: A janitor.

Hayoung: For a school?

Eunji: Office building.

Naeun: How did you land a job like that?

Eunji (blushes): It’s a long story.

Hayoung: No way!
