(Flashback to Spring of 2019)-

You had just finished your last day of doing community work at the wetlands for one of your classes and was heading to the student office

On your way you noticed that one of the sandwich boards from your event from a week ago was still there and knew that since none of your co-workers/boss would pick it up so now it became your responsibility to take it back

So then you carried the sandwich board to your best ability but to admit took several breaks in the beginning since you realized that the walk was actually going to be quite long

After getting hold of the board you proceeded walking and noticed a guy in a beanie riding a skateboard passing by you to go to his friends, when all of a sudden he turns around and approaches you (since I guess despite how you thought you got the hang of carrying the board you looked as if you were struggling)

this is how the short interaction went...

(Skater boy)-Do you need some help? (he asks while holding a skateboard with his other hand)

(You)-Yes...no...actually I'm fine but thank you

(Skater boy)-Alright well then hope you have a nice day (he says as he skates away)

(your thoughts)-"ugh why did I say no! who am I kidding my arms hurt so much right now! you know what forget about him it would've been awkward anyway right? since walking with him all the way back to the student office would've meant that I had to talk to him..you did well Y/N-ah lets go!"

You ended up getting to the office safely as you remembered that the building to the office had an elevator so it wasn't that big of a deal after all, but after having that encounter you called your best friend immediately

(You)-Yeri-ah! I rejected a guy's offer to help me...why am I like this? no wonder I'm still single

(Yeri)-What happened?! tell me everything

(You)-I was on my way to the student office carrying a sandwich board when all of a sudden a guy riding a skateboard passes me but then unexpectedly he turns around and comes towards me and asks if I needed help..but knowing me I said no since it felt weird to just give him the board you know since he's a stranger...I've become too independent what do I do?

(Yeri)-I mean it was nice of him but I get it you should always be careful, I say it was good on your part since it's not bad to be independent also if he turned around just for you maybe he likes you and wants to see you again!

(You)-No way that's gonna happen I see at least 3 new people everyday on campus there's no way I'll see him again I mean I didn't even get a name so it's hopeless

(Yeri)-Well at least he seems to have brighten up your day since you were complaining this morning that you hated doing community work for your class

(You)-Yeah yeah well I should get back to work, see you at home roomie! byeeee

(Yeri)-Bye

A year later~

It was exactly a year later since that interaction had happened last spring and since then you've gone back to your usual self and haven't had much going on in your life, you were now in a Communications class that focused on media issues and being the first day back into a new quarter you were both nervous yet excited to meet new people.

You luckily had recognized some faces from previous classes which was nice especially since it would be easier to form groups for future projects.

As the professor was taking attendance you recognized a skateboard across the room thinking to yourself: "that can't be his right?" however moments later when he had walked back into the classroom and taken his seat by that same skateboard you had realized it was him!

You then told yourself to stop looking in his direction so that it wouldn't be so obvious but luckily for you he was in your peripheral vision

Next thing you knew, everyone had to get up and walk around the class for an icebreaker activity which was a bingo game where it would say stuff like "has been to Hawaii" or "has an older sibling"

Making your way away from the section of the room he was in you tried your best to get a bingo before the activity would be over when all of a sudden you bumped into someone and dropped your pencil

As you were reaching down to get your pencil (you guessed it) he also tried to help you which ended up with the two of you holding hands for like 5 seconds

(You)-Sorry for bumping into you and thank you (you said before shortly leaving before he could respond since the activity was also now over and everyone had to go back to their seats)

(Your thoughts)-"Why am I acting so weird? it's not like he remembers me..let's just forget about him and act normally"

A couple of weeks later

Your group had to present that day but for this presentation it wasn't in front of the class but a process where each of the group members were assigned to table groups within the class to form smaller discussions about the reading that was due for that week

(Your classmate)-I'll go talk with the table groups in the front, why don't you do the back table groups then

(You)-Yeah sure

Everything was great until you realized that he was in your group and that you ended up having to sit next to him to present so before doing so you gave yourself a pep talk

Which went something like this: "he doesn't deserve me...but he's cute ugh I hate myself! why do you hate me god?"

What will happen during your presentation? will he finally ask you about that day or pretend he doesn't know you?
