"Oh, please! I'm just here to visit Lady Roseline," he whined to the guard who stood in his way. He's been trying to get past the guard of the female dormitories for the past 10 minutes with no success and it was beginning to make him a little antsy. "Please, my good sir - Just give me 5 minutes and I'll be in and out before you'll realize it."
"Apologies but under the school's rules, males are not permitted to enter the female dormitories unless permitted by the school. I suggest you speak to the school staff to obtain a permission slip," the guard barely moves an inch as the same boy tries to find an opening.
The sound of footsteps stops the boy from continuing to persuade the guard to let him through as he turns around to meet a familiar face.
"William?"
The latter's face lights up as he sees one of Roseline's older brother.
"Gabriel!"
William smiles brightly as he extends a hand out to greet the youngest brother of the Beaumont family, "I didn't know you were coming so soon. Weren't you busy with outdoor training for guard duties?"
"Family emergency," he gives William's hand a firm shake. He steps forward to show off the family heirloom to the guard who steps out of his way, the necklace that he wore that had the Beaumont family crest engraved. "You're here to visit Ro as well?"
"Yeah but the guard wouldn't let me through. I heard someone say that she's well enough for visits starting today," he gives the stink eye at the guard, not with the person knowing that is as he walks alongside Gabriel. "I didn't know I needed a permission slip..."
"Leaping before you think," Gabriel chuckles as he lifts his hand to acknowledge the other girls who were passing by them, "That sounds just like what you would do." The giggle from the group of girls wasn't hard to notice as they continued to sneak glances at the two boys.
William pouts at Gabriel's comment, "I would have passed through the guard some way if you weren't there, you know that right? A dress, makeup, and a fan is all I need to change myself into Madam Wendy."
Gabriel nearly bursts out laughing at the idea of William changing himself into a woman just to meet with Roseline - his younger sister would probably go into shock from such an appearance. That was William for you with his whacky sense of problem solving and humor to boot.
"You're by yourself today? Aren't the other brothers coming?"
"They're already here. I'm actually the last one to arrive," Gabriel knocks on the door as William 'Ohs' at the clarification. Roseline's other brothers must have arrived quite early for no one to have spotted them since the mention of the Beaumont Brothers would have anyone - female and male - rushing to see them with their own eyes.
The door opens and Gabriel greets the maid who's been serving Roseline for nearly all her life, "Josette, lovely to see you as always. I hope I'm not too late now."
Josette has a warm smile on her face as she shakes her head, letting the Gabriel and William step inside. "Perfect timing to be exact, Lord Gabriel. Lady Roseline awoke just a few minutes ago and she's been conversing with the other Lords. It's a pleasure to see you as well, Lord William."
"Nice to see you too, Josette," William gives off a sweet smile at the maid that he's known ever since hanging out around Roseline. He's rarely ever seen Roseline without Josette, even while they were playing or at gatherings as children - Josette would be there to watch over Roseline.
The maid guides them to the door where Roseline rested and they can hear laughter coming from the room. A feminine laughter in fact - one that both of them weren't used to hearing.
Josette opens the door and there on the bed they could clea
