ᴀɪsʟɪɴɢ ᴀᴄᴀᴅᴇᴍʏ : ʙᴀᴛᴛʟᴇ ᴏғ ʜᴇᴀʀᴛs ||〖 chapter seven! 〗(HIATUS)"Cold, cold, cold, cold - did I ever mention how much I hate the cold?" Minrae mutters as they start walking back home from school. Although Minrae lived nearby and Daeyeon had to take the bus, their journey to the bus stop was always a shared one. Both girls would sit at the station and chat until Daeyeon's bus arrive, it was a routine they did every single day.
Daeyeon holds back a laugh seeing how Minrae was trying to fight off the cold even with her jacket so, being the kind person she was - Daeyeon took off her scarf and wrapped it around Minrae.
"Great, now you look like a dumpling," Daeyeon pats her head and laughs when she sees Minrae pout. They heard the sound of thunder and Minrae begins to grumble how horrible it was that it was going to rain on an already cold day. She was always the sensitive one when it came to negative changes in temperature and Daeyeon was her personal hot pack. As they're sitting at the bus stop, with Minrae hugging Daeyeon to 'soak' her warmth does rain begin to fall.
Daeyeon reaches her hand out, feeling the droplets fall onto her hand. But as the rain wets her palm, she has a quick vision.
"... exile her ... " The voice says and his eyes stare at her with no feeling of remorse of guilt. The room's temperature drop and before she can say anything, arms are put around her - escorting her as she lets out a painfully silent scream at the man. This wasn't how things were supposed to be - they have it all wrong. This wasn't her fault, this wasn't what she wanted, this wasn't what she imagined. Her eyes continue to stare at the group, desperation was evident in her gaze - hoping they would retract the announcement. She wants to reach out to them but the doors close the last thing she sees is the hateful eyes staring back at her.
She shakes her head, clearing her mind from diving further into the image. She brings a hand up to her head, was she running a fever that high that it was causing her to hallucinate? Maybe her mother's words were true - too many hours playing otome games maybe did rot her brain at last. Her gesture doesn't go unnoticed by Minrae who looks up at her with a concerned expression.
"Dae, are you okay?" Minrae places her hand over Daeyeon's forehead, "Do you feel sick? You can have your scarf back if you're not feeling well."
However, before Daeyeon can reply, the rain suddenly gets heavier. Minrae - who was never a fan of heavy rain, snuggles closer to Daeyeon. "Good thing we're wearing our tracks, right? Or else we'll probably freeze to death before your bus shows up," Minrae smiles in an attempt to lighten the mood.
Daeyeon looks at her watch, realizing that the bus was running late which was unusual. She gets a little worried about the rain and suggests Minrae to head home first, fearing the rain would worsen.
"I'll be fine, honest!" she hands her umbrella to Minrae, "Your mom's going to worry if the rain gets any heavier. The roof will keep me dry, don't worry about it." Daeyeon persuades Minrae and after a while does Minrae reluctantly leaves. Daeeyeon watches her bright yellow umbrella until it's finally out of sight.
The coldness of the changing seasons and the rain were clearer now that Daeyeon sat all alone. A part of her feels regret that she sent off Minrae but she wouldn't like to see Minrae all alone either when she finally boarded the bus.
Daeyeon pulls out her phone to text her mother, saying how late she would be considering the bus wasn't in sight but the yells coming nearby makes her send just a quick - "I'll be late. Bus probs." - before she stands up, craning her neck to see who's voice she had heard.
The little girl appears and she looks relieved to see Daeyeon as she rushed towards the older girl. Her hand grips firmly onto Daeyeon's arm, "Help me, please - my brother's in trouble!" She pleads and Daeyeon can
