Closing - bringing something to an end; final.

"No, sir."

"Your honesty is appreciated." Yoona found it challenging to gauge Jennie's father's true intentions, but regardless, she remained alert to any hidden meanings he might be conveying. It's a refreshing confirmation that we're on the same page, "You know, you remind me of someone from a long time ago," he continued, his voice tinged with nostalgia.

"I hope that's not a bad thing." Their shared laughter eased the tension in the room momentarily.

As Jennie's father allowed his thoughts to wander down memory lane, Yoona's curiosity was piqued. "He was a dear friend of mine," he explained, "and he shared many of the same qualities as you. Your abilities to execute tasks efficiently and proactively, coupled with your strong sense of determination, are reminiscent of the characteristics I admired in him. These traits are what make a CEO, even if you haven't officially held that title before. When you entered my life, I couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity and gratitude for the opportunity to know you. It's almost like he's here with us once again."

Intrigued, Yoona couldn't help but ask, "What traits are you referring to?"

With a slight smirk, he took a sip of his wine before elaborating, his eyes fixed on Yoona's unwavering gaze. "Both of you possess an uncanny skill for playing the game, even when it gets dirty." The directness of his statement held her gaze, and she didn't flinch in response. "And that, Yoona, is precisely why I see value in having you within my company. Your expertise and resourcefulness are assets that can greatly benefit my business."

"I'm relieved to know that our perspectives align," Yoona replied with a genuine smile, appreciating the open and straightforward nature of their conversation.

"You must have already deduced that fact, considering your keen observation skills," he commented, a playful glint in his eyes. He checked the time and informed Yoona that his daughter and wife would be returning shortly. However, before she left, he had one more revelation to share. "Would you like to know how I discerned your intentions with my daughter?"

Curious, Yoona nodded, playing along. "Please, enlighten me, sir."

"The way you look at her, it's not genuine through your eyes. The way she looks at you is not the same as how you look at her. But I couldn't care less about it; what's important is the fact that you're a significant asset to my company. Being her wife already provides her with the assurance of your commitment," he explained, his words straightforward and practical. With their conversation coming to a close, he suggested that Yoona tend to her bruises before Jennie grew concerned. "You should go and clean your bruises now."

With a bow, Yoona expressed her appreciation and prepared to leave. But before she exited the room, she turned back to face him, leaving him puzzled by her action. "That's how you also look at your wife, right?" Her statement caught him off guard, and his surprise was evident in his blinking eyes. He managed to mask his emotions with a fake smile and replied, "This is what makes us two, indeed." He watched as she left the room, his eyes widening in astonishment at her audacity.

His hands trembled, and he clenched his fists, frustrated with the implications of her words echoing in his mind. He had inadvertently revealed his sentiments, and he didn't expect her to pick up on them to such an extent. He took a deep breath, willing himself to calm down. After all, their shared intentions made their situation mutually beneficial, a realization that eased his anxiety. He reassured himself that encountering Yoona was a fortuitous turn of events, and any discomfort he felt was worth the ultimate gain.

Yoona, meanwhile, requested a first aid kit from the Kim's maid and declined their assistance, opting to tend to her bruises herself. Back in Jennie's room, she heard her name being called by one of the maids, indicating that Jennie and the others had arrived.

Emerging from Jennie's room, Yoona descended the stairs, passing through the dining area where all eyes immediately fell on her. The bandages on her face didn't escape their notice, and concern immediately etched their expressions. Greeting Jennie's grandparents and her mother, Yoona took a seat beside Jennie. She exchanged a glance with Jennie's father, his smile providing a small reassurance.

"Omo! What happened to your face, Yoona? Did you have a fight with someone?" Jennie's grandmother voiced her worry, her tone laced with concern.

Yoona responded with a reassuring smile. "Something like that, halmoni, but you don't have to worry. It's already been resolved."

Jennie's mother chimed in, her tone also displaying concern. "Still, Yoona, as a woman, getting into fights is concerning. I'm just worried about your well-being. Conflicts should be resolved through calm conversations, not physical altercations."

Yoona tried to downplay the situation, not wanting to delve into unnecessary discussions about her bruises. She welcomed the distraction as the maids began to pour wine into their glasses. Taking a sip, she hoped the topic of her injuries would fade away.

"Fighting someone physically can sometimes be enjoyable, as long as you're a skilled fighter," Jennie's grandfather interjected, earning disapproving glances from his wife and daughter, Jennie's mother. "I've heard you're quite the fighter," he added with a smile, his gaze fixed on Yoona. "Don't worry, my dear. I admire your actions. No need to regret what you've done; I would have done the same if I were in your position."

Yoona was surprised by his words, finding an unexpected connection. It was clear they shared a common perspective.

"Oh, please, stop indulging in discussions about fights," Halmoni said, rolling her eyes. She wasn't a fan of her husband's tendency to bring up such topics during conversations.

"I agree with your father," Jennie's father chimed in, sharing a knowing look with him as they exchanged a wink. They shared a chuckle as their wives gave them disapproving glances.

"Moving on, you've done an exceptional job in our company, Yoona. I've heard nothing but praise since you joined, and I couldn't be happier and prouder," he continued.

"Yes, I've heard the same. You truly stand out, Yoona," Halmoni chimed in with genuine pride in her eyes.

"I couldn't agree more. It's almost as if you were born to be a CEO in our company," Jennie's father added with a smile.

Yoona's heart warmed at their compliments. She felt a surge of gratitude whenever her efforts were acknowledged. "I'm just doing my best, but thank you for your kind words," she replied with a grateful smile, resisting the urge to beam from ear to ear.

They eat their dinner with some conversation and noticed Jennie being quiet all of a sudden. It wasn't new to them, they knew that something had happen between the two because Jennie isn't a quiet one when they eat dinner all the time. Yoona noticed that also but she chose to ignore it don't have a mood to argue with the girl.

As dinner progressed, conversations flowed, but an observant eye would notice Jennie's sudden silence. It wasn't unusual for the family to notice such shifts in her behavior during meals. While Yoona acknowledged it, she chose to let it slide, unwilling to engage in an argument.

"So nini, how's your day?" Halmoni asked with a warm smile on her face. "I've heard you and your friends are planning to build a fashion store. I'm pretty sure it would be successful as we all wanted."

Jennie returned the smile to her grandmother and nodded. "I hope so too, Nana. Regardless, I'll do everything in my power to ensure its success." 'Nana', was Jennie's affectionate nickname for her grandmother, a term of endearment that filled the room with warmth.

Then, in a slightly mischievous tone, Jennie's grandfather leaned in with a raised brow. "My grandchild, now that you and Yoona are married, when can we expect to welcome little ones from the both of you?"

"Well, Gramps, you might want to ask her about that, because it seems like she's not on board with the idea," Jennie's voice dripped with icy coldness, sending a shiver through the room. Everyone exchanged uneasy glances, feeling the atmosphere turn unexpectedly chilly. As the tension grew, Jennie continued, her gaze fixed on Yoona. "They can't stand waiting, Yoona. Give them an answer."

Yoona resisted the urge to let her annoyance show. She reminded herself not to lose her temper in front of Jennie's family, and she recognized that today she was seeing a different side of Jennie. This was the same side that Jennie's father had warned her about during their conversation. It was a side she'd need to handle with patience.

As all eyes turned to her, Yoona cleared , feeling the pressure of their expectations. "It's not that I don't want children with her," she began, knowing that there would be a "but" in her response. Jennie's frustration only grew at the anticipation of it. "...but, with my new role as CEO, it's been challenging to find the time. I hope you can all be patient with us."

Yoona's explanation seemed to satisfy everyone except Jennie. The young woman was relentless, digging for more. "So, being the new CEO is going to come between our marriage, huh? Sounds like someone isn't thrilled with her job," Jennie's words contained a forced smile, and Yoona inwardly rolled her eyes, recognizing the game Jennie was playing. "Just kidding, I'm actually glad you're enjoying your time at the company," Jennie added, though her smile remained strained. She turned to her family with an expression that concealed her true feelings. "Don't worry, Nana, Gram
